Will never stay here again. Reservations were made 6 months in advance with a confirmation of two spaces together. However, when the first half of our group checked in, they were moved three times and finally ended up in a grassy tent space. They were told that the electric didn't work in the originally confirmed space. We were told that a long term had been checked in there since September. There was someone checked in, their son. If we had known ahead of time that we weren't guaranteed spaces together, we never would have kept this reservation. Also, the bathrooms were filthy. The playground was falling apart. The clubhouse had a tree fallen down on it next to the playground. Not a safe place for kids to play. They had said that the park had been sprayed for mosquitoes in the previous week, but it was absolutely infested. We are covered in welts and could hardly be outside. No amount of deet spray or citronella could keep them at bay. An awful experience. I'd have rather dry camped.

Nice medium size RV/Cabin park. Mostly rental area but several full timers. Staff very friendly. All facilities clean. They planned activities for the 4th of July. Small water streams through grounds. Lots of shade trees for RV sites. My only feedback - if you can help it, don't reserve site 118. It is located by a residence one side and a maintenance door to a work area on the other side. There is no privacy. Workers pass through your site. This site should be discounted. See photos. Park is on outskirts of town. You can't walk to town. Not on a river even though on map it looks like it. The backside of the property is private property.

Friendly hosts and close to town. Lots of shade and mosquitos too. Sites are a total crapshoot. The one we got had a very dirty old picnic table and was extremely tight. The site next to ours had no table. Others looked bigger and weren’t so cramped. Would not stay again. My advice to the owners is to let people pick their site types when reserving. Also consider making a bunch of the sites by the trailer park pull throughs. If you can’t fit a car and trailer/coach in the site lengthwise then you can’t sell it as able to accommodate that length of trailer/coach. Way too many class A’s crammed in there and no room for their tow cars.

This is an older campground, and they are set in their ways for sure (as related in some other reviews). I had read reviews, and wanted to avoid some of the pitfalls that others had encountered, such as having your neighbors sewer pipe under or very near your picnic table. I sent a note to the camp with my thoughts, and as often is the case, it was not taken as well as I had hoped. I evidently was branded as a 'complainer' and was discouraged in just about every way one can think of. We pressed on without a reservation (Thursday before Labor Day weekend) with the knowledge that we could dry camp at hundreds of public sites in the area. On arrival we found a site that suited us perfectly and really enjoyed our stay. For the record, the park does clearly cater to long term residents. Approximately half the park consists of park models (the western side). To the west their were more itinerant guests, and somewhat tighter spacing. Most had at least some shade, none had a view of any quality. We took site 57, which was at the end of a road. On the map, it looked like we wouldn't have anyone across from you, but it turned out there are a couple of older mobile homes there. There were lots of kids buzzing around on bikes (exceptionally well behaved ones I would add. Some belonged to the mobile homes, and had obviously been trained to be friendly and helpful. We found the park quiet when it needed to be, and lively most other times. They discourage fires, but offer a community fire ring that was active most nights with a few folks having a beverage and telling stories. We had a leaky faucet, and it was promptly dealt with. The Wifi at our site was the best we've seen in a campground, and we could actually watch streaming video. Major win, since the cell phone just barely worked (Verizon). Access to Gunnison and Blue Mesa Reservoir were quick and easy. We took a day trip to Crested Butte (about 30 minutes), but mostly relaxed. We did use the laundry, which was mostly in good condition, though we lost money in one washer. The pool appeared unused during our entire stay. It is close to the highway. We would definitely stay here again, but site choice is important if you want any...

Have you ever been camping and thought, “This location is ok, I just wish there were more mice.”? Have you ever wished you could fall asleep to the sound of mice burrowing or feel a mouse run gingerly, deftly though your hair as you drift off? When you return to your accommodation after a long day and you do not see mouse poop on your nightstand log do you feel a little sad that no mouse has left their calling card? Do you ever wish some left over food was left, tucked under the bed, in your accommodation by the previous guest to jump start the activity of your little friends? Well, look no further! This is the place for you. I stayed at this campground in late August through early September. I stayed in a tipi and expected to have an outdoorsy experience. As an avid backpacker this is the only “campground” experience I’ve had this year as the rest of my trips have been wilderness style backpacking trips. I’m accustomed to dealing with wildlife and know how to minimize exposure to the types of wildlife I prefer not to have abundant exposure to. Sealing food, hanging food from a tree. Keeping food away from my sleeping spaces. I expect to have a degree of exposure to wildlife when I invade the places where they live. I love seeing chipmunks, squirrels, bees, mice, ants, and all manner of wildlife, doing their thing in nature. I was not prepared to be so spoiled during my tipi stay. I had so very many mouse friends in my tipi. SO MANY! 🐭🐭🥰🤩🐭🐭||In addition to all my wonderful furry friends running past my bare feet as I prepared for my day, or to sleep at night, I was so thrilled to have the bathrooms nearby. They were clean and well maintained, (perhaps a bit dated as some have mentioned, but I’ve no desire or use for the most modern style) The showers had great pressure and never had a lack of hot water. The grounds were tidy and well maintained. The staff were helpful and friendly. The price was right. On-site laundry facilities. The works! If you’re looking to make some new friends, camp host, fellow camper or mouse, this is the...

I live and work in the area and love this place as my own little get away. In fact, after our balloon tours we bring our passengers to the park because of it's unique and friendly atmosphere. It has two great teepee's that you can spend the night in, with power and a comfy bed. My passengers love doing their after flight champagne toast next to them. If there is no one staying in the teepee's I find more often then not, passengers are taking photos and poking their heads in. It's really that cool! The grounds are meticulously maintained and cared for.

Now for a third party rebuttal to the previous comments. Yes the owners are wonderful photographers and they even have a great gallery that I suggest people check out even if they are not staying there. There are no props used in the photos in Google places and the park is just as wonderful as shown.

As for the "medical emergency cancel fee" I can assure you no one takes pleasure in this. The summer season for local business is short and we fall in to some unusual dynamics. I need to take a deposit on balloon rides and hold strictly to them, If I didn't I would go out of business holding out critical reservations from people who could have booked with me had the original reservation holder not get "The vacation flu". It is a largely abused excuse for tourists to use when they want to get out of a reservation for a number of reasons, very rarely factual. $10 is extremely nominal and the cancellation fee is meant to dissuade abusers from taking advantage of us in our busy season and assuring our resources are not squandered on fickle tourists. I am not saying your medical issue isn't true, just blame the hundreds of dishonest people whose conditions were false, not Mesa RV.

I urge you to give this place a chance. It is a wonderful resource and and destination to the area. Approach with an open mind and a desire to have fun, and you will be greatly rewarded. It has some of the nicest...
