Here's our story...We had just visited the 4 Corners Monument, making our way to Monument Valley when the rear inner tire blew out in our motorhome.  We were about 60 miles away from the nearest KOA. We called up to say we weren't sure if we'd make it to the campground, but Angelina assured us that if we could get there, her manager would find a way to help us out with our tire situation.  We hobbled along at  35-40mph and finally get to the RV park.  The manager, Raymond aka "Doc" was able to get "Guy" one of the owners of the RV park to help put our spare tire on for a small fee.  We were still hesitant about continuing on with our roadtrip until we replaced the remaining bad tires (2 tires plus the blow out tire) that were over 9 years old, based on the date code on the tire.  We had booked additional days at KOA so we weighed our options and ordered 2 tires from Amazon to be delivered to the campsite.  While in the office to confirm the delivery address, Doc had looked up tires at a tire store about 1.5 hours away in Blanding.  The store had the tires we needed so we ordered 3 replacement tires and cancelled the Amazon order immediately. Doc offered to pick them up the next day since he had to pick up supplies in Blanding anyway.  He later came to us with more good news that another one of the owners (who lived in Blanding) was going to pick up the new tires and bring it to us the next morning by 10ish.  Needless to say, we were VERY GRATEFUL for the efforts of the people at Monument Valley KOA who went above and beyond to help us. The next morning we received the new tires from (ugh...I forgot his name, but still want to say "thank you"). We drove out to a local tire shop a few miles away to put on the new tires.  We had called this place previously and they didn't have the tires we needed, but they offered to put on the replacement tires from wherever we could find them (in this case, the new ones from Blanding). We finally had the peace of mind knowing we were set to travel again with our new tires.  All throughout our stay at this KOA, the staff and management were always helpful with smiles on their faces.  We made good use of their supply store.  Our water hose burst so I picked up a replacement along with a pressure regulator.  As for the other amenites at this KOA...the kids were amazed by the "cleanest bathrooms they've ever been to." The laundry room was well kept and clean too.  My wife even picked out some souvenirs during our time here.  I would definitely recommend a stay at Monument Valley KOA for any traveller...

Secret New Treasure!

This review is about 1 month overdue. We stayed here 3 nights in a 25’ RV, along with my parents in their 28’ Airstream in June 2017. At the time, the park was very new and David and his wife who are partners in the new park were working very hard to build it up. When we arrived David was very accommodating, provided us side-by-side sites with grass, electricity, water, sewer and a picnic table. This all came with gorgeous views of Monument Valley. That is all we needed really since we had our mobile RVs with us. At the time, the owner had their vision and plan to put in bathrooms, showers, fire pits, trees and more amenities. We felt the owner takes great pride in their RV camp the best they can. Starting any business takes time to get it to the end result.

Tent sites are also available. This is a great place to star gaze, relax, and enjoy Monument Valley to its fullest. While we were there we made the trip (recommended by the RV Camp) to Cedar Mesa Pottery in Blanding, UT. Here my Mom and I found some gorgeous, and affordable (compared to other areas in UT) pottery from various artists. It is a Pottery factory so we were able to walk through the factory and actually see the making of pottery and art painting. Well worth it!

We also took another trip while we stayed here to Valley of the Gods. Beautiful! Just understand the road is a dirt road and I also recommend you do a little research on the stunning geologic formations. They are supposed to resemble different things (i.e. Rooster Butte, Setting Hen Butte, and Lady in a Tub). It was fun to try and figure what was what, and doing your research on what the locals call it will make it more enjoyable experience.

Mexican Hat is also near here. Goulding's is also worth the visit where a lot of history is depicted about all the western movies (and others) were filmed in the area, and also John Wayne’s cabin is here too.

If you want to go somewhere that is in the center of beauty, many places to go see, where you get treated well, owner that cares, and if you want to enjoy the scenery and outdoor life…this is it! I think it is the best park in this area. We were on a 3-week trip across many states (OK, KS, CO, WY, MO, ID, UT, and NM) and this one was one of our favorites.

I wish the park, and the owners, the best in their venture and we plan to come back next year and see how things have grown. Thank you for making our stay memorable and making...

Monument Valley was the halfway point in our "Mighty 5" road trip and we decided to saty at the Monument Valley KOA Journey campervan park and it was great!

Arrival: We arrived late, pulling in at 10pm or 11pm. Its a lot like the other campervan parks that we stayed at and we were able to find our spot and hook up our van to the utilities in no time!

Stargazing: Even though it was late we decided to light a fire and stargaze knowing that we were right in the middle of some of the Monument Valley formations that dominate the local landscape! The night's sky got so dark with the stars shining it was truely amazing! The photos can't do it justice!

Staff: The staff were very friendly and they suggested various things to do in the local area that we could while we were here which was very helpful!

Facilities: The campground provides a number of facilities to all its guests. These rang from the utilities for your camper on your plot, bathroom and showering facilites, toilets and laundry facilities. They also have a playground for children and a dog pen! picnic tables and a cooking utensils cleaning room.

Showers/bathrooms: The showers and bathrooms are located at the of the site. There was seperate men's and women's bathrooms and showers. These facilities were very clean and there were a number of toilets and shower stalls in the men's room. My partner said the same for the women's. The showers had great pressure and the stall had enough space for one to have their belongings while they showered. Laundry Facilities:

Morning: When we woke up we knew that we were going to find ourselves in a beautiful location and that is exactly what we did. There was beautiful rock formations surrounding the site which made out breakfast so amazing!

Shop/Office: The shop is small and has the sites office as well. They have it stocked with souvenirs, some snacks and local products. There is coffee offered between 8am and 9am. Also, there is a horseback tour company and a Jeep tour company located right on site as well.

Hwy 163: The site is located just off of Hwy 163 so be careful not to miss the turn off if you arrive at night! There is some noise from Hwy 163 but it did not bother us and we got a good night's sleep!

Overall: If I am in Monument Valley again with a camper I will definitely return to the Monument Valley KOA Journey Campark park to spend a...

The campsite is relatively new and has clean showers and toilets. However, be warned that sites far from horses are recommended, as annoying flies can be a nuisance. You’ll also miss a shadow as only a few sites have small trees, leaving the rest in the sun all day. Of course, you can’t expect grass in the desert. I parked our RV a bit crooked to get more shade for dinner with the kids. This way, it was still within our site and didn’t bother our neighbours. The only issue was that our car was slightly off the axis of the parking lot. The camp manager compelled me to relocate my RV to align with other vehicles. I inquired about the reason, as the car remained within our designated area. Her answer was: BECAUSE I SAID THAT AND I’M THE MANAGER HERE. The fundamental business rule is: if there is no customer, no manager is needed. This principle holds even greater significance when the customer (myself) has paid her, besides the campground daily fee, more than $300 for a three-hour Jeep rental to explore Monument Valley. The manager disregarded this issue even though other vehicles were parking diagonally to their caravans. Still, she expressed a significant problem when our RV cast shadows over our children’s dining area. It’s better to stay in Gouldings or pass through. However, there is one advantage of staying here. If you pay cash, it’s tax-free, the manager said.

Campground was Beautiful with unobstructed views of the surrounding canyons. At night star gazing is the best here with everyone seemingly knowing not to turn on there outside lighting. Clean and air conditioned laundry room with 4 washers/dryers. Showers are nice and clean. They even have Horseback riding next door and Jeep rentals to get closer to the canyons. My wife and I do remote work so internet is a priority for us. Unfortunately wifi/internet was very weak and at times non existent. Even with our boosters it did not seem to help. The cell tower nearest is often congested resulting in very slow speeds to no connections at times. One other thing to note was the amount of flies flying around the campground at all hours of the day. Very persistent annoyance which prevent us from enjoying being outside. We ended up cutting our week long stay here short because of internet issues. They actually refunded us the rest of the days remaining which was great! I noticed that there is a lot of construction around the area putting up fiber optics for internet. Maybe next time we decide to stay here internet won't be a problem. Great stay over all.
