By far my favorite hot springs experience thus far. Quaint, rustic, beautiful, tranquil, healing, social, homey, and beyond relaxing. To book a massage, hotel, or camping book at least a week in advance they suggested. Being my first time here I can totally understand why. There seems to be enough room in the parking lot for rvs and vans. No cell phones in the facility so just leave them in your car. They offer a free locker to put your valuables in. That's why you don't see photos of the actual hot springs and the beautiful gardens. I would've taken so many more photos if I was allowed to. The grassy areas are so well taken care of. Bring a book or a magazine, a beach towel, a sun hat, and spend the whole day here. Pro tip: Bring food to store in the fridge and/or make. They have a community kitchen that you can use. All utensils are provided, just clean up after yourself. Also if you do decide to wear a swim suit don't have any white or light colors. It's possible that the water will turn it brownish. There were plenty of children around, but please keep in mind this is a clothing optional hot springs at all times of the day, so use your best judgment on what's best for your family. I did see some swim noodles being brought in the bigger pool. It seems like a great idea. Floaties would be too big though. I hope you enjoy your experience as much as I did. I hope to plan ahead and camp next time. Heaven.

On my last full day in Ouray, I decided to come to Orvis for some soaking and meditation. I was told by almost everyone I encountered in Ouray that Orvis is a MUST GO before I leave. So I came and spent almost the whole day here. The staff was so kind and helpful, and even gave me a little tour. The changing rooms, showers, and bathrooms are a bit cramped, but that's not what you come here for. I met some of the most rad souls that I would've never come across if I didn't stop at Orvis. The whole setup once you get to the back is a complete oasis. I personally spent about 5 hours in the lobster pot. I found that to be perfect for me. I was able to get lost in my meditation for quite some time. I also had some of the most enlightening conversations with the other souls inhabiting in the lobster pot lol. It was quite a trip! That's for sure. Make sure you bring water!! They have a refill station which is a total plus. I also was welcomed by the coolest of cats and also peacocks!?!?! What a time. What an experience. Only at Orvis. The views are beautiful, I hear the stars at night are just oh so captivating. Next time I find myself nearby I'll stop in for a soak in the pot with the other lobsters!!

Wasted time and money unfortunately. I booked a trip for October before it got too cold. I figured I could get over almost slipping while walking down the slimy rocks into the springs, but I was extremely surprised to find an empty cup sitting on the side of one of the ponds with what looked like a used tampon. Very un clean and gross. Since it’s almost in the middle of no where you’re kind of left with nowhere else to stay if you didn’t book in advance. Plus the receptionist didn’t seem to care when I complained about it as though I was in the wrong for mentioning it. So slimy rocks even after they’ve supposedly cleaned them along with floating moss and unclean places to sit. Horrible experience.

Horrible place! Don’t stay here! Please read…

A group of my friends and I all booked 3 nights at these Hotsprings. When we booked we were told they were completely open for camping. We picked campsites 5 & 6 which are close to the back gate for easy access to the Hotsprings. We traveled long distance to enjoy a trip at these hot springs exclusively. When we arrived we discovered they had put us in to entirely different camp sites that weren’t even next to each other, 8 & 10 . When we told them we had reserved 5 & 6, they became very rude and informed us that no, we had reserved 8 & 10. I don’t like being called a liar and again told them it was 5 & 6, but did not demand they give me those spots, I just wanted them to validate my response. This is when the other brunette at the front desk jumped in very rudely and said ā€œwe’re not going to kick the people we have in 5 & 6 out to give them to youā€. I did not ask them to. On our way out the door she had to very rudely say it again. We left and had dinner before returning to the orvis campground. After changing and entering the Hotsprings I returned to the front desk because I wanted the managers information so I could contact them directly about this encounter. On our way in it appeared that the first very rude brunette girl from our checkin at front desk was waiting for us. She ended up following one of the women in our group into the changing rooms and harassed her there. Then came to the front desk where I was speaking to the other brunette to get the managers information so I could talk to them about what happened earlier. When she came in she stated ā€œI’m cancelling your stay and you have 5 min to vacateā€. I asked if I could speak to the manager immediately at this point, the denied me and called the police instead. When the police arrived we were just finishing packing up at our site. The ridgway police were very polite. We had a short conversation and left, no criminal charges could be pressed because we hadn’t committed any crime. The next day I contacted the GM Mindy. When I called she took my number and said she would call me ā€œright backā€ from the business office. It took her 47 minutes to call back. Mindy was polite but did nothing to rectify what had happened. We have spoken to here 3 times up to this point. We had to find a completely different place to stay on short notice and there not a lot available here in ridgway. Yesterday Mindy told us we could come in and talk with her today to hopefully resolve the matter and allow us to stay sat and sat night. She just called to inform us that the ā€œemployeeā€ (very rude brunette girl) was the one doing night shift that night and the employee didn’t want us there. Because the employee didn’t want us there we could not come. This is the worst customer service and the absolute worst I have ever been treated by any company in my life. No resolution at all, and apparently the employees matter more than customers. I would not travel long distance to this place with the hopes your reservation will work out, if it doesn’t, good luck finding somewhere else to stay. Booked dates...

Orvis Hot Springs is by far the cleanest hot springs that I have ever been to and I have visited several in Colorado over the past few years.||||Today, my boyfriend and I ventured down and decided to check it out. It is a clothing optional hot springs and the nice gentleman that runs the hot springs told us upon entering, he had us sign a waiver and immediately was impressed seeing two people cleaning. He told us about the pricing and where to change and a little about the hot springs. GREAT customer service etc...plus there was a cat that hangs out at the front desk so being a cat lady, loved that.||||The women's changing area was very clean and there are free lockers to store items in.||||Gentlemen told us no electronics of any kind are allowed at the hot springs so we locked out phones in our car. The parking is in front of the office so felt very safe.||||The hot springs has two maybe 3 indoor hot tub/pools and 6? 7 outside. When you leave the locker room you come to the first two and those two are tobacco friendly fyi as someone who hates cigarette smoking, I wish that they would do away with the tobacco use there and have a designated area outside the fence but it didn't both me that much we just moved on to the other areas....there is a large soaking pond that is awesome around 102 degrees then another one "silent area" pond and a cold one and a "lobsta" pot 110 degrees. Beautiful and clean and yes there were a lot of older naked people but honestly could care less....as someone much younger, I just closed my eyes and enjoyed the soak.||||Two mini complaints but not the Hot Springs Fault||1. KIDS urghhh I wish no kids were allowed but luckily the two that were running around left almost soon after we arrived.||2. The Lobsta Pot ie; 110 degrees is very small, only 2 people can fit comfortably in it. My bf and I walked by several times and there was a guy in it no lie 45 minutes finally we just went in and he was taking up most of the space so we got out. I think people need to be more aware and thinking about the experience, what a wonderful day it was except that guy in the super hot one got me thinking, maybe the hot springs could add a sign over the smaller ones "Please be courteous to others and allow others ample time to soak", Lobster Pot limit 10 mins or something like that....just a hint.||BUT hope this doesn't sound negative...beautiful hot springs, wonderful staff and CLEAN. ||As for COVID etc....my boyfriend and I were only patrons in masks but all workers were....other guests stayed away, never came near us and the only interaction we had was with the rude guy in the lobsta pot.||GO now, seriously go to soak there you...
