I dislike the fact that it's $9 a night, considering the fact it doesn't seem like there are any rangers or park people who come by, ever. It was a Scenic drive in though, only the first site has a good view of the water, and the day use area.
The toilets smelt like I'd walked into a cow barn...I've used vault toilets before in about 20 different places. None have smelt so foul.
For $9 a night, I would expect someone to drive by every once in a while to make sure people are paying to come in...but they don't. Not off season in Nov. anyways.
All night long, people, who I assume are locals, drive in and out of this campground. Pulling in at 3:30am and staying for an hour or two, then leaving again. I stayed two nights, but the lights arriving and leaving were so unsettling. I never saw a ranger.

Granted, I stayed for 2 nights and no one bothered me, unless you count driving either super fast or super slow through the campground. Or parking with your headlights so they shine at my site...
Read morePretty nice spot. I found this place last minute and if you stay here you will get some spectacular views of Santa Cruz Lake. There is a bathroom, shelter at your camp spot and a stove for cooking as well as a designated spot for a fire. There are only 25 spots and about 4 that actually view the lake so if your planning on coming here, I would come early. There is a fee to camp. I think like 9 bucks. Overall cheap and beautiful place to camp and see the stars. It’s very easy to find and my friend and I had service the whole time which made me feel safe and still connected to family at home in case...
Read moreThis is probably one of my favorite BLM sites I have ever stayed at. Easy access, quiet with only a few spots, and with the gorgeous overlook of the lake surrounded by beautiful hill/rock formation. There’s a pit toilet which is pretty clean. Every site is not too close to each other, well maintained and clean. We have our own picnic table, fire pit and emptied trash can. Even though we need to pay $9 for BLM, we are more than...
