Worst place I have never stayed at. I never got a chance to stay. First off the proprietor gave me miss information about drive up. The road is a series of switch backs. They had hard rain and expected more in the days to come. We had suv didn't have 4wheel drive she said we would be fine she drives a mini Cooper up it. Not sure how that works road is bad. But that's not worse thing we drove up said road and I started feeling sick we met the husband nice guy place looked great but as I said earlier never got to stay there. As we were leaving as we were early I really stared feeling sick. We drove back down and I felt worse and worse. I called several times email several times snd it took for ever for them to get back to me so we headed back up again. Same thing not sure if it was the switch backs or steepness of road or high altitude but still felt like I was going to throw up light headed nausea not the way I wanted to spend the night. My husband went to talk to owner and that went horrible my husband explained again no refunds. So my husband came back out and I was going to try but man felt like I was going to throw up right then. My husband went back to talk to manager again and presented a question what if someone had a heart attack up here what would you do he said call ambulance but wouldn't give him a refund well I guess they both had words and the guy told my husband to get out of his house. Well he comes back out and tells me what happened and asks what I want to do. Well I want to throw up. But thought now if we stay here there will be lots of tension. So we went back down got a hotel for night one. Then the wife emailed and said so your staying as I had emailed her when I didn't hear back I was going to try. But then her husband acted badly towards mine and I was still sick. I asked her under the circumstances can she refund me if not all maybe half. She cold heartedly said she won't be giving me a refund per thier policy. I explained I know there was a policy did she think I planned on getting sick and also she was not honest about the road..I know cancelation policy but can't she please make an exception as this was out of mine or hers. Again if she could do half that be great because again this was out of my control. She didn't even offer to let me use it for future stay not that I want to because her husband was confrontational to mine. Would you want to stay somewhere where you were treated like that be honest. I realize also that the situation cost her money she was losing because we weren't staying that why I asked for half back as I think that would be at least fair. She said we won't be giving you a refund again per policy with no compromise at all for something out of both of our controls. Well that was 1000 for 4 nights that I worked hard for and now it just put a sour note on my vacation. I was still sick Friday and found a wonderful bed and breakfast at lower level. Lovely proprietor I gave her the scenario of what happened at the other bed and breakfast and asked her to be honest about what she do in the case. She said I would have refunded you as it was out of your control and mine. She would have refund me and she to has a cancelation policy but again my getting sick was out of both our control so refund would be warranted. I rest my case don't get sick for peets sake don't have a heart attack while your there because you won't get a refund. So this has been the worst bed and breakfast I have NEVER stayed in and the hosts are not honest about the road and have no sympathy for something that is out of...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed for six nights in the Liebling Suite and had a wonderful time. The suite is the only one on the main level and has its own private balcony above the others. We napped multiple times in the afternoons on that deck to truly the best mountain view we’ve ever had. The room was quiet and had a jacuzzi and a fireplace to make it relaxing and cozy. We were comfortable the entire time. If you can snag this suite, I highly recommend it.
The new owners, Anne Marie and Dane, were exceptionally kind and truly made every effort to make our stay special. There’s a breakfast menu with multiple great options each morning, and we didn’t have a breakfast we didn’t love. Quiche, avocado toast, fruit, hash, pancakes, bacon—you name it—Anne Marie had it ready. If you’re planning on going into nearby Woodland Park or Manitou Springs, or trekking up to the top of Pike’s Peak, there were always great lean protein options for more active days.
Perhaps the most remarkable thing about Pike’s Peak Paradise is how removed from civilization it feels while still having every amenity you could want and only being 20 or so minutes from where you want to go. We visited a beautiful wolf sanctuary where you can pet and howl with the wolves, Garden of the Gods, and Manitou Springs during our stay and still made it back in the afternoons to relax and rest. There’s even a pizza place that’ll deliver to it despite it being off the beaten path. To illustrate just how good the view is, the local pizza delivery boy said on arrival, “I’ve never seen anything like this in my life!”
Last, seriously consider their upgrade offers. We purchased the Three Course Dinner for Two option mostly on a whim. We’ve always wanted to have a private chef meal, and we thought it would be a great opportunity, though we really didn’t know what to expect. That meal absolutely blew us away. We are still talking about it. The dinner was made by Chef James who has an impeccable resume and who was equally kind and fun while making us what may be the best meal we’ve ever had. All courses were worth writing home about, the porkbelly (chicharonnes) starter I think winning the evening. We were so floored, the day before we left we went to his food truck called Red Diamond Gastro Truck to get a less elevated though still remarkable lunch. The meals Chef James cooked for us were the best food we had on the trip. You won’t be disappointed. When we go back, and we will, we’ll buy that upgrade again, and frankly would pay more if asked. It’s that good.
Stay here. Not a dime we spent felt wasted. We drank wine in the evenings, laughed it up with Anne Marie, spent hours in the jacuzzi looking out at one of nature’s greatest marvels, and returned home energized. There truly is not another place...
Read moreExcellent Hosts & AMAZING VIEWS!!!!
First off the couple that run this hotel (Dane & Anne Marie) are extremely friendly and accommodating. Anne Marie was at the door to greet us when we arrived and shortly after showed us to our room. The room was a really good size for two & very clean, there was also a hot tub in the room!! That was half the reason I booked this particular room, I wanted the hot tub experience for me & my wife. After the hot tub we went and got some fresh cookies that Anne Marie made from the kitchen along with some popcorn to relax in bed with a movie, they have a pretty large selection of DVD's to choose from. We slept really well and they also have a ton of pillows in bed which I love! The morning after Dane cooked us a nice breakfast, I had the peach french toast, eggs and fruit, I have a milk allergy and Dane was still able to cook a delicious breakfast with oat milk. Me & my wife had a great conversation with Dane while we ate and then we went outside to the balcony afterwards. THOSE VIEWS!! It's absolutely beautiful where this hotel is located and you can see everything from your room and on the upper floors. It's also super quit and very peaceful if you just want to sit outside night or day.
SIDE NOTE.. On their website they tell you that its going to be a steep grade to get to the hotel and recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get there. We went In April and the roads didn't have any snow, in these conditions you can make it there without a 4 wheel drive vehicle no problem.
I was very hesitant to stay at a B&B , I usually stay at Name brand hotels & haven't had the B&B experience before. After this stay though, we will definitely be back!!! THANK YOU AGAIN DANE & ANNE MARIE for making our...
