Rainbow Park Campground is beautiful! There are only four spots - ideal for tent camping - directly adjacent to each other near a river bank. We arrived on a Monday evening around 7 pm in July with three sites left likely due to the campground’s remote nature. Each site features a fire pit, bench table, and tent site. There are vault toilets and trash cans on site as well. We were lucky enough to see a moose, beaver and many song birds. The view of the river canyon was stunning and extremely quiet and peaceful. The drive further east along Island Park Road was an adventure and seemed mostly ideal for rafters, but it was fun to explore nonetheless. Read moreSuper quiet and peaceful, and a nice drive in on the dirt roads. The river is beautiful, and on the weekends people come down it in rafts and kayaks. I was there in March 2025, so it was absolutely freezing at night with hardly any people out there, and the roads were pretty mudded so it was a bit difficult to get in. Keep in mind, you are not alone there, whether it be animals or other things, so try to remain respectful of everything, don't act stupid or rude regardless of the company you think you're keeping, mind the water and keep away from it at dusk/night, and try keep the pictures to a minimum. He said to be careful with this crystal we had just found, because it can open doorways into other worlds. Crystal mysteriously disappeared. Never seen him before that conversation.
