Obvious but worth emphasizing. This is NOT a hotel. You’re in a tent with a zipper door. There’s a toilet and shower which gets you into hotel room territory but there’s a few distinctions. The bathroom is “private” but not completely (i.e. partial “wall” with barn door separates you from the rest of the space) and the shower is a pull handle with just on and off, with temp going from cold to warm to hot intermittently. Theres bugs, it’s cold at night, etc. Despite its price-point, it’s way more a camping experience than a hotel experience which is why I suppose people stay at Under Canvas. And so did we.

It was a fantastic experience. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. The beds are super comfortable (definitely hotel quality). The indoor wood burning stove is really cool, although don’t think it’ll heat things up for long. It’s more fun than a heater. The food at the cafe is really good and reasonably priced. The outdoor area is very well done with great views and fun activities such as s’mores at night, corn hole, Bocce Ball and board games.

And then there’s the location. You are in the middle of nowhere. Literally. There are a few small towns close by and Ruby’s General Store about 15-20 min away has pretty much want you’d need. Lots of activities outside the park such as ATV/SXS, horse back riding and biking (we e-biked the park). You can book through Under Canvas or go your own way. The scenery is just breathtaking wherever you go. It’s a truly unique experience that will create lasting memories for sure.

Few things we discovered that’s worth mentioning. Being Bryce Canyon is so high up it gets chilly at night, even in august . So pack some extra warm PJs, you’ll need em (we stayed end of August and it got down to the high 40s low 50s late at night). if your shower gets cold (ours did after about 30-60 seconds) flush the toilet and boom. Hot water is back. At least in our tent. the sky is unbelievable at night. You can see the Milky Way with the naked eye. Bring a decent camera and learn how to photograph the night sky and you’ll have some amazing shots. I’ve never seen so many stars and I’ve been around the block we went white water rafting one day which was really cool. It’s an 75-90 minute drive north but you go through the mountains and it’s a very nice drive. Rapids were going being it’s rained a lot this season. we visited end of august and it rained every day for a short period of time. Bring rain jackets or ponchos if you go in the rainy season. We got caught SXS in a monsoon and the poncho and garbage bags we brought to protect our backpacks saved the day there’s a local “world class museum” in Bryce that’s actually really good. If you have an hour to kill check it out. All stuffed game animals and an amazing collection of bugs. There’s deer the kids can feed for a few bucks too food is not the greatest in the area, so the cafe came in handy. The town of Tropic and Panguitch, both about 30 minutes away, had some decent options if you’re looking to go out for dinner. But again, Under Canvas has a great onsite cafe with good food so it’s not necessary. getting to Bryce is a bit of a challenge. We flew into Vegas and spent a night before the journey east

The biggest pet-peev we had is unlike camping there’s no campfires by the tent which I really think is the biggest downside. Understandable considering the fire hazard it would pose but Camping for me is pretty much all about the campfire. There were gas fire pits at the main lobby area but it wasn’t the real thing.

All in all this was probably in the top 3 of any vacation experience with my 12-year old son and we will remember it for the ages. Highly...

Fascinating, incredible, breathtaking, relaxing, reflecting, awe inspiring, tranquility, soothing! That’s not just referencing Bryce National Park, but Under Canvas Bryce Canyon compound in its entirety! This was our first time glamping, and I’ve got to say, not having to pitch your own tent, being able to stand upright in it, having your own shower, space to walk around in, toilet, seating, shower and sink, porch with chairs, with a real bed and not a sleeping bag makes for a great outdoor experience! Especially as you get older and you’re looking for the outdoor experience without the drudgery, inconveniences and potential painstaking process. The DarkSky environment is also conducive to serenity, peace of mind and relaxation with an unadulterated view of the stars that’s unimaginable until you experience it for yourself. Even more so, if you book the stargazing tent with an incredible clear canopy where when you rest your head on the pillow, looking up, and all you see are the galaxies in all its marvelous splendor, and then some! Here you don’t count sheep, count the stars. With the amenities of dining on premises (pretty darn good food by the way), fire pits and s’mores, live music, hiking paths, it all builds up to be a wonderful adventure. Just a few minutes from Bryce Canyon National Park, Bryce Canyon City and Tropic, UT, gives you a chance to gas up, eat up and wander around these small towns. You’re also a short distance from some of the most fantastic natural wonders Utah has to offer. Like Grand Staircase Escalante, Natural Bridge, Red Sands and more. All the amenities here are top notch, the concierge service is great, the service is fantastic, surprisingly fantastic meals and the staff are as excellent as you would find in any top-rated hotel. It’s a fantastic hotel in nature and under the stars! Two words of advice, be aware you are going to be at about 8,000 feet above sea level, breathing does become a little more difficult, especially for us older folk and we with heart conditions – be aware of your limitations. And, as you approach Under Canvass’ last few miles, watch for cattle, as all the area enroute to the site is free range, open grazing. That said, my wife and I had an extraordinary few days there, and we’re happy with the experience. We definitely got turned on to the glamping experience – thankyou Under Canvass, for an outstanding job and such a...

Situated away from the crowds yet still close to the park, Under Canvas Bryce Canyon provides a quiet and picturesque refuge after a long day of hiking and exploring. With tents that are well spaced, there’s an air of peaceful solitude. The property is beautiful and the tents look just like what you see online. They have all the modern amenities (running water, bathroom and shower in each tent, stylish and comfortable furnishings, etc) for those of us who like the “idea” of camping but don’t really want to camp. The customer service was awesome. A big shoutout to Torri who checked us in and oriented us to the camp. She was friendly, engaging and helpful. One of the things I like most about Under Canvas in general, is how everyone they employ has a passion for the land around them. They know and love to talk about their experience living there, the best hikes and activities off the beaten path, where to catch an amazing sunset or sunrise, and what makes the surrounding area so special. Torri was no exception and completely embodied that vibe. She always made sure we had everything we needed and responded promptly to any requests. Our 13 and 9 year olds loved playing the board games in the main tent. Their favorite place to chill was the hammock hangout filled with hammocks and circular swings. We spent most of the evening sitting around the campfire making s’mores and talking. You CANNOT go to bed until you’ve done a little stargazing. The lack of artificial light creates a special opportunity to see a spectacle in the sky. We opted for the stargazer tent and that proved to be a great choice. Snuggled in for the night, we stared at the stars and let them lull us to sleep. It was a fantastic experience and I whole heartedly recommend Under Canvas Bryce Canyon to anyone visiting the area.

Truly unique experience! A gorgeous location! The people are wonderful! The tent we were in was spacious & equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The beds are very comfortable and have layers of warmth for cooler evenings and mornings. The wood stove/fireplace does a great job of keeping the tent warm - plenty of wood and fire starters provided. Battery powered lanterns provide light in the tent. They also provide battery packs to charge personal devices. The on-site cafe had a variety of selections for everyone for breakfast & dinner! The prices are reasonable for entrees. We did find the appetizers to be a bit overpriced. We ordered the cauliflower as well as the roasted carrots - the serving was less than a cup each for $15. The s’mores and fire pits in the evenings were an absolute treat! And the staff were super friendly! Thank you to Bryce & Matt for a great check in experience! Sydney was fantastic with the activities- stargazing & bingo! And Erica in the cafe was super friendly and helpful! We quite enjoyed our stay after a hot days at Bryce Canyon. I highly recommend this place, even if you are not an avid camper; we are certainly not. It’s not a luxury hotel; but is sure is a luxurious way to spend a couple of nights outdoors!

A very nice place for a getaway....A bit pricey though, but understandable, considering the location and the effort they need to get to make the glamping what it is. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Good food including vegetarian and vegan options. LovelyFire pits and a patio to relax in the evening and watch the stars. The tents themselves are comfortable. The only issue was that the day we went the temperature dropped to the thirties at night. Each tent has just a wood burning stove, which needs to be replenished every three hours to retain heat. So we woke up frozen at the middle of the night and had to rekindle the fire, and do it every two hours till the morning, when we got out of the tent. This is probably the one reason why I'll think again before coming to a glamping site without climate control. I do understand that everything is done with minimal eectricity, but hopefully they'll come up with some kind of solar energy powered heating so that the tent stays warm all night.
