Beautiful area and free disbursed camping... Just make sure to call to see if it's open first. The paved road immediately adjecent to the campsites was surprisingly busy with traffic from nearby houses. We drove all the way up to Verde Glen to be greated by "no camping" and "no parking" signs all throughout the area. There are also a few other spots (First Crossing, Second Crossing, & Third Crossing) that are listed as campsites on the map on the road to Verde Glen, but were marked with signs reading "day use only". The "Crossing" areas also requires users to pay a $9 parking fee (just for daytime... no overnight camping here). We talked to a really nice forest service ranger upon our departure and he stated that Verde Glen is to be reopened for camping today (7/13/18) and is often shut down on a temporary basis in response to the area's...
