DO NOT STAY HERE. LOUD OBNOXIOUS NIGHT CLUB ALLOWED ON CAMPGROUND FOR 6 NIGHTS DURING OUR OCTOBER STAY. OWNERS HAVE NO REGARD FOR WELL BEING OF CAMPERS.

There are absolutely beautiful views from the campground. That is the only positive thing I have to say about our stay at Zion Wright Family Ranch campground.

We stayed 10/22/2020 and 10/23/2020. (We had booked 10/24/2020 but couldn't bear another night.) We were miserable both nights of our stay. The Wrights apparently have no standard campground policy. And even if they did, there is no onsite host to enforce a policy.

Night 1 *There was a large group of people on an adjacent site who talked loudly until past 1 a.m. At midnight we'd had enough and got up to ask them to call it a night. They responded by saying that we picked the site next to them, so it was our fault. *The Wrights knowingly booked a large group during our stay who erected a night club on the campground, and didn't bother to inform other campers at the time of booking that a loud, obnoxious night club would also be on the campground. They blasted loud techno music until 2:00 a.m. The crowd was screaming. We couldn't sleep.

Night 2 *I informed a Wright staff member who rode through at dusk that the night club had blasted loud, obnoxious techno music the night before until 2 a.m., and that we had heard that another camper had called the sheriff to intervene. The staffer assured me that the night club would not be playing the music loudly again. I explained that they would turn the music up as soon as he had left the campground. *Again the night club blasted their loud, obnoxious techno music as soon as the Wright staffers had left the campground. Even with ear plugs we were unable to sleep. *At 2 a.m. we saw the lights of the sheriff's truck approaching. We went out to speak with him. The music was shut off, but the night club's flashing lights and loud generator remained on. As we guessed, as soon as the sheriff left the campground, the loud, obnoxious techno music went back on. UNTIL 4 a.m.!

I spoke via phone today to Megan Wright, who manages the campground, about our experience. (I called the owner several times, but am always directed to voicemail without the option to leave a message.) She confirmed that they have no policy, and didn't seem to care that other campers had been negatively impacted by the loud noise. We will NEVER return. Steer clear. SHAME on the Wrights for knowingly subjecting campers to this situation, without even the courtesy of informing us at the time of booking so that we would be afforded the opportunity to make an INFORMED decision about our stay.

11/2/2020 Update: We had provided our feedback to the Wrights regarding their unwillingness and/or incapability to control the behavior or their extraordinarily loud, rude guests. The Wrights finally responded, calling us ignorant, cry babies, and trash, using the term "your kind", and wishing us good riddance. For complaining about loud music until 4:00 a.m. on a campground loud enough for...

This place was the highlight of our trip. We stayed 1 night camping and the next horseback riding. Can't say enough how much fun we had. If your the type that doesn't like stuffy herds of humans at campgrounds then stay here. Very open and dispersed. There's not a check in house so don't expect that at all. Very laid back place to stay, not the typical up tight formal campground the east coast is known to have. I'm an Easterner from VA. Just find a spot and pitch a tent. Portajohns were a plus and was maintained well. Wasn't expecting that but came prepared...This spot is cool as it's far enough away from light pollution. You can get a town car to this place if anyone is wondering. I was skeptical at first about it and luckily the road wasn't wet either. Lucked out with the weather. Not far from Zion which is a plus but far enough from the crowds. Horseback riding was by far the best experience! Stew was great! Very informative, professional, knowledgeable, personable and polite. The ride was just the right amount of time 2hrs., the views phenomenal and the horses were great. Worth the rate by far IMO, didn't feel cheated out at all. Some places are an hour ride and just dull from what Ive read. We learned alot about the family and Stew, the horses and how to ride. The trail ride also included some climbs to views which was fun to steer the horses up/down, they're amazing animals. We weren't expecting it to be such at first but it was! For me, my fear and understanding of riding was relieved and am comfortable to try it again someday. My wife and I did this activity for our 1st wedding anniversary and will not forget it. Unforgettable, A+ helluva...

We had the most AMAZING time camping and trail riding at the Zion Wright Family Ranch. But before describing that I want to address some of the worries I saw in the reviews regarding getting to the ranch.

Road: People were complaining about the road being undriveable. We drove a Mazda CX-30 and did the drive absolutely fine. At no point did I feel it was too steep or too eroded. I suppose if there was heavy rains at some point that it could be hard, but we're in Zion - dirt roads will have bumps. Drive slow, confident, and be smart about how you navigate it. The drive should not stop you from staying/riding here. Porta Potties: People complained about the porta potties, but it wasn't a problem for us. When we scoped a spot we checked the nearest porta potties to see if they were clean. They were all relatively clean, just look for one that meets what you need in term of cleanliness.

Now onto the good stuff. We started with a trail ride with Calvin. Calvin was such a great host and incredibly hospitable. This trail ride left no rock unturned. We rode through the entire property and got some amazing views! Was our #1 experience throughout the entire trip.

We also spent the night on the campground. The trees spread out throughout the campground made it easy to find shade to setup. At night, it was quiet and peaceful. The campground is truly serene and I couldn't ask for anything better.

Also the stargazing was amazing!

Bill and Calvin truly are awesome, and their ranch was a truly special part of our journey. I hope my review helps alleviate any of your worries because this is not an experience you should skip out on.

Thanks again...

We absolutely adored our time staying at the Wright Family Ranch. It’s about a 35 minute drive from the visitor center at Zion National Park. Try to save that drive on your phone before arriving because we didn’t have service. The last 1.5 miles of this drive are on a bumpy dirt road. Semi-steep at parts. We arrived in a Nissan Rogue and were fine. There is no official check in process, you just pull in and choose your sight. Lots to choose from. The sights are incredibly spaced out. Lots of room for privacy. No amenities but there are porter potties. Bring your own TP. The views here are simply breathtaking. The red rock was completely surrounding us. Like a biiiiig ol’ nature hug. Sunset and sunrise here are unmatched. We even scored a full moon. Cowboy Bill was so incredibly kind to us. He truly just wants other people to be able to soak in the beauty of his land. He took us on a 2 hour horseback ride through his land and on the cliffs of the red rock. It was stunning. It was my first time ever on a horse so beginners are welcomed! (It was $99 each) This ranch is very remote and gives you that breath of fresh air feeling you’ve been searching for. Would recommend this spot over and over again. Go enjoy and soak it all in. Thank you, Bill! We will be back!
