We returned to this gated campground for a second stay to attend an annual family event. Check in was seamless and the staff was helpful in giving directions to our site. Most of the gravel sites appear to be level with trimmed trees overhead, but the curvy roads through the park are narrow with 2 way traffic. Our camper is relatively small so there was no issue navigating, but larger rigs should check with the office before choosing a site. Both our stays were over the busy Labor Day holiday and the park was full with what seemed to be local families. We spent the weekend visiting our family so we weren’t able to participate in the various activities hosted by the park. The park quieted down after many of the campers left Monday morning so we invited the family to see our camper. Although our guests used none of the park amenities, and despite explaining the situation, we were still required to pay $40 to host a family cookout. Although resort fees are understandable, there should be some procedure in place for occasional guests during off peak times who do not use the amenities. We would return to this campground in the future but will refrain from inviting guests.

Just purchased a small little A-frame pop up and wanted to take the kids on their first 'local-ish' trip. We landed at Kymers as we love the area. Upon arriving, everyone was great. The staff was courteous and helpful. They even asked if I needed help parking out camper and sent someone down in a golf-cart for an extra set of eyes. The activities were great. We were there for 4th of July weekend and the kids had a blast. We did not get to partake in everything this place had to offer, but we had a prime location on the brook and plenty to do! This place has great sites that does not feel like a giant parking lot! We even won second place in the scavenger hunt and won some awesome Legos! Upon leaving we had a little mishap with our trailer; it was the 4th of July Monday; everything was closed. We flagged down one of the staff members and Steve and John came to our rescue. No hesitation, they both came to help us out and get us back on the road; they just wanted to ensure we enjoyed our trip and had no issues during our stay. As we pulled out of the driveway, the fiance and I already booked our next visit!

Kymer's was the second camp ground we stay at with our camper we came here camping for a fall weekend and we loved it so much we became seasonal campers The staff is amazing and Security keeps the grounds safe so kids can ride bikes and just be kids . The grounds are well kept and maintained. The bathhouses are cleaned three times a day and the cleanest bathrooms I have ever experience in all the years of camping. We made so many memories and still more to come !!! The best part about Kymers is that it's they bring family's together with all the activities they plan for both the parents and children. I highly recommend camping at Kymers it truly is all about family and making sure everyone has a great weekend / vacation being in the woods.

Pros: First of all, the people (staff) in the office were very friendly...and that is one thing I always look for in a campground because it makes such a big difference. With many sites available, they let us drive on and choose ours. We chose #33 because it overlooks a stream and was very large. The site was all gravel, which worked well when it rained Tuesday...grass would have been a problem. The site was perfect, holding 2 cars, a large tent, a small tent, and a pop-up canopy with a lot of room to spare for chairs and bikes, etc. This is a very hilly campground, so walking around and bike-riding may be an issue for some. They have a pool with a diving board which was a plus for the kids (the diving board) because you don't find those often these days due to insurance costs. It poured rain the morning of checkout, and they were very kind about letting us stay past checkout time to get somewhat dried out and pack once the rain stopped instead of packing up in the downpour.

Pro or Con - you decide: One of the most interesting features of the campground is the bear population. Apparently, according to some regulars, there is a bear den in the woods near/on the campground, with as many as 4 or 5 bears (mother and young) living in it. We were not cautioned about that at check-in, except I overheard another camper talk about how his entire cooler that he had left outside the prior night had been raided and all the food taken/ruined, so I asked about it. My only experience with the bears was going to the dumpster at night to drop off trash and finding one of the bears there, happily raiding the trash at about midnight. I stayed and watched for a while, because bears are amazing, and then went back to my site. We kept all food and scented items in the car every night, just in case. The next night, we drove in about 8:30pm and the bear was back at it, so we stopped the car and watched as a family for a bit. I will say, the staff cleans up the large mess the bear leaves very well and very quickly the next day. You need to decide if the bear(s) is a pro for you or not...it was for me - something I will not forget.

Cons: **The pool and hot tub closes at 8pm - we (and others) would have liked it open longer. **The lifeguard on duty Sunday evening was the only non-friendly staff we met. She made it clear several times that she really wanted to go home. **The mini-golf course is very tiny and run down - still kids may like it. **The tennis courts are supposed to be lighted. We saw the lights but they never came on so we couldn't play when we wanted to. **The office closes at 8pm except on Saturdays (10pm), which means you can't get a problem solved after 8 (tennis courts or needing ice or wood) and means that you must purchase a $1 "gate token" to get back on to the campground after the office closes. You have to know that before you go out, just in case you get back late. **The bathrooms are fine, but the toilets were frequently clogged during our stay there. Showers are on a water-saver...you must pull a string and hold on to get water flow. **Wood cannot be brought on to the campground, so you must buy it at the camp store for $6 per bundle. Expect to go through 1-2 bundles a day for your fires. **Do not expect any organized activities during the week, but there are a few on...

My family booked the weekend a month ahead of time, we thought it was all set an our family was super excited for our mini vacation, we were also celebrating my brother in law 21st birthday. When we arrived to the site we were told that we couldn't stay in the trailer my in laws booked for us because it was booked for 2 adults and 2 kids, we called ahead of time to ensure that everything was set before we went and we were told that it's ok to have 4 adults and 2 kids in the trailer so I was completely confused when we got there and was told we couldn't stay in the trailer my in laws booked, they said that if we wanted to stay we would have to rent a champing ground and buy a tent, we paided $110 for the two night and $150 for the tent. We had no choice but to pay for this because we had just drove almost 2 and a half hours and a spend a whole month preparing for this trip. I was extremely upset when I heard that they allowed 2 other family's to have 4 adults and the other family had 3 adults and 2 kids, why were we not given the same treatment and kindness they give to other families? Why they couldn't make and exception for us? My child Is only 1 and they were making such a big deal about it, I was told that my husband and i could stay in the tenth and my 1 year old can stay in the trailer, not only did they separated my husband and I from our family but they thought it was a good idea to separate my 1 year old daughter from me too. We were given two option either we pay for the camping ground and tent or go home. My family an I finally agreed to just pay and focus on enjoying our time with our family, when we got our camping site location we quickly realized we were placed in a totally different sector from our family this prevented us from doing activities with our family because of the distance my 1 year old daughter cried most of the times because she couldn't be with her grandparents, as if that was not enough we felt targeted we were told 4 noise complaints was filed against us. When my aunt ask about those complaints she was told it was for a different camp site not ours. Overall the whole experience was horrible and I will never ever go back there. I wish I could give them no or zero stars for the lack of customer service and be harrassed constantly because of a noise complaint that was not even...

I have been coming here since I was little and had the chance to stay here with my 4yr old for a week this summer. It was really the perfect age and he soaked in all the things I remember loving as a kid. We loved the rally field for a week of tent camping with littles bc its directly behind the playground which offered lots of busy time for the kids while we prepped meals. However, most of these sites are sunny so if shade is what you wish for, go into the wooded sites. Bathrooms were very clean and showers were always hot. The pool is fantastic for families and they are in the middle of building a new splash pad for the kiddos. Unfortunately that means that currently there's no kiddie pool area but im sure it'll be great when finished. The store is very well stocked with all your camping needs. And don't miss the nice little walk to the lake on site.||||As much as I enjoyed getting back to tent camping...I would probably go back for a cabin/trailer next time just to eliminate all the packing. I've stayed in both here in the past and they are great but I wanted something close to the playground this time around. Or...rent or bring an RV to the rally field. I had no idea this was allowed bc they don't have sewer hook ups there but apparently they offer pump outs on Mondays and Fridays for the sites without sewer connection. If I owned an Rv I'd definitely stay in these sites but the cost of renting an rv plus the site is much more than just using one of their cabins.||||We were leaving just as they were setting up for Christmas in July weekend but my son really wanted to stay for that. They have events planned for most weekends so find out what's on the calendar when you visit so you can participate. ||||Also, don't miss the chance to see a beautiful waterfall right from the parking lot. Take the ride to Buttermilk Falls and you will not be disappointed. There a short steep climb to the top but with staircases so not rough terrain. I am 8mos pregnant and made it to the top with a few stops to rest but any ability can visit these falls bc the base of the falls ends in the parking lot. Plus it's only a 20 or so min drive from Kymers...and shaded so we killed a nice hot day here then came back for the pool in...
