We stayed in Buttercup Haven for 10 days in July - the home was exactly as described and shown on the website, both in the photographs and the video. Buttercup Haven is in a very lovely setting “on top of the mountain“, and the views are stunning! The drive up is paved and very easy to navigate, and once inside the gate, there is a covered parking spot at the front of the door, making it very easy to unload your suitcases or groceries.
Stepping foot into Buttercup Haven for the first time upon our arrival brought huge smiles to our faces! Every where we looked, we saw attention to detail - beauty - luxury - fabulous views!! We knew it might be hard to leave every day to go out on our “day adventures“!
Margaret is the best hostess ever! She has it “all together” with regard to any information, instructions, details etc. that you might need so that your stay will be just perfect..... I like the fact that she touched base with us by phone/text upon check-in, just to make sure that everything was fine. She also provided her cell phone number that we could call or text at any time, as well as her email address.
There were only two of us (my husband and I), but there is plenty of room in this home for 10 people - there is a downstairs area with a sofa and full bathroom - recreation area and a small play area - again, all beautifully designed and decorated. The upstairs area is also exactly as shown in the photographs – we did not need to use the space but it was definitely just as luxurious and comfortable as the middle level where the other two bedrooms are. There is plenty of everything! Towels, kitchen supplies (very gourmet), bath items .....and very comfortable and beautiful linens on the beds, great living room furniture to relax in, and all the outdoor furniture you could possibly want.
It is obvious that Margaret takes great pride as the owner of Buttercup Haven and so she should! If you are lucky enough to stay here it will only add to the beautiful memories you will have a vacation in the North Carolina...
Read moreTwo families met at this beautiful home this past July weekend. The weather was what you’d expect in the North Carolina mountains in July—hot during the day, but 2 of the evenings we were able to turn off the A/C, open the doors (keeping the screens closed), and get a really nice breeze through the place. It was great. Margaret was very quick and attentive to texts, although we didn’t have any problems and didn’t need to reach out to her for anything! The hot tub was already clean and warmed up for us when we got there! The location was outstanding. 270 degree views of the mountains, and west looking back towards the Franklin area had beautiful sunsets each night. Could not ask for a better location or views. It was quite the steep drive up to the house, but paved all the way to the driveway, so our two minivans had no problems. The setting outside has been impeccably maintained, there were many butterflies around the garden area and our kids loved seeing those. Margaret is CLEARLY dedicated to keeping this place looking beautiful on the outside. The inside was perfect for what we wanted. Most places we have rented in the past say they have a fully stocked kitchen—this was stocked as if we actually lived there and used it—everything we needed was there. Each bedroom had a bathroom, which worked out well for the 10 of us. The rooms were clean, nicely decorated, and very comfortable to sit, relax, or play games in. The kids loved the basement play room as well! I really cannot say enough nice things about this place. We plan on returning when it can work out with the two families’ schedules. Highly, highly recommend Margaret and her...
Read moreMy Book Club girls were just at this 5* mountain home... Luxury is not saying enough!!! This was the second time this year we've been to Buttercup Haven...eight ladies were here and the accommodations were spectacular!!! The kitchen is supplied with all of the items that you will need for your stay and then some. We cooked, drank, and grilled...we just relaxed and enjoyed. The bedrooms all had luxury linens and comfortable beds. The views are unbelievable, morning sunrise on the east deck, sunsets on the west deck...both breath taking. Margaret the owner was very responsive with texts and emails daily to make sure we didn't have any concerns or questions. We have been renting cabins/homes for several years and by far this is the most beautiful home with the best owner. You don't have to worry about any concerns with cleanliness, this home was spotless. The grounds of the home are landscaped beautifully; several ladies in the group are Master Gardener's and couldn't have done it better, the variety of plants and shrubs are just beautiful. The Franklin downtown area has many cute shops and restaurants...our ladies helped out with supporting Franklin's economy. We had lunch at Root and Barrel on Main Street... service and food 5 stars. Some of the ladies enjoyed walking along the river front downtown Franklin. Highlands, NC is 19 miles, very curvy miles, but a great little town with a variety of shops and restaurants. Don't hesitate to book your stay at...
