Went car camping with my dog Oct 21-23. The trees were beautiful, the stars were bright, and the hike at Seneca was perfect. It was Monday-Wednesday so the sites were pretty empty. As a solo female camper, I felt safe. Site 12 is without electric and water at the site, but there are water and outlets in the bathroom. The first two loops of camping spots are without water and electric (I believe) and the 20s+ loops had electric for sure. I have a car converter so no electric wasn’t an issue for me. Pro tip: Amazon solar yard lights were a hit. My site had tons of trees and shade which was perfect for the hot afternoon but I do regret not being able to see the stars as I drifted to sleep. The tent camping on the last loop is in a big field which maybe would’ve been cooler. I’m sure we could’ve moseyed down there for some gazing but it’s a long walk back. For the tent only spots, you have to walk a few steps from the parking lot to set up camp, but the view of Seneca is gorgeous there and the stars were insane, I’m sure. Bathrooms were cleaned daily and even had hot water! The shower is an old school push nozzle, but give it two pushes and you’ll get hot water. Site 12 is near the road but is huge and has two tent pads and picnic tables. I do regret not being closer to the bathroom, but the road traffic wasn’t bad and my dog could freely roam. I recommend getting wood from the last Kroger for cheaper bundles. If you run out, camp managers have some! $8 a bundle, 3 for $22. We will definitely be coming back in the future to explore a little more!

We had a fantastic campground experience here over the past weekend. Plenty of plots to pick from whether you’re looking for Rv, tent grounds with electric or tent grounds with no electric. Each section looked to have its own outhouse as well which I haven’t seen much of at other campgrounds. The cash pay system was very easy and straightforward, the caretakers that come around a couple times a day to check on you and ask if you need anything were wonderful and inviting, and the location has plenty of spots for a fantastic view of Seneca rocks right in the camping spaces. We stayed at a basic tent spot #50 right at the edge of one corner to the tree line that had a very short and sweet trail with a brilliant view of the rocks that took 2-3 minutes to walk. Each day there were maybe a handful of other tent camping guests but it worked since some of the spots available have so much space in-between, also considering there were around 40 spots for basic tents to choose from. Area was very well maintained and easily showed how much care is given to providing such a positive experience. I highly recommend this sight and have future plans to return.

The campground is large to say the least! There is private primitive and primitive tent camping out in the fields facing Seneca Rocks. Check in was fairly easy and the host was very nice and informative. The bundles of wood are $7.00 a bundle and wrapped in plastic and tightly packed in a three sided shed so expect mildew and hard to burn until they dry out. You are not allowed to cut any downed branches or wood or have any cut firewood longer than 24 inches at your campsite. You are also not allowed to hang anything from you lantern pole. The view of the Rocks is amazing but depending on your tent site your neighbor is super close with no privacy. If I went back it would be the first come first serve private sites near the entrance for me. The bath house and toilets are very nice and clean. Be sure to read the rules as you are visited nightly by the host or staff to ensure you are in compliance with there regulations.

Let me start off first by saying that the campground was very clean. grounds and bath houses. But management needs to be replaced. " not Mike he was great" they have double standards. They do not follow their own campground regulations. For one example I had my dog on leash when I went down to camp office to ask them to bring me fire wood. When their friends dog came running up at me barking and try biting my dog in face . my dog could not get away because I had her on leash and their dog was not. These people that own this dog are campground employees also . so hours later I had to go back to campground office. with me having my dog on leash again. As I was approaching office I saw that their dog was running around unleashed again. So I took leash off my dog so if their dog came at my dog again she could a least get away. Now I'm standing outside in front of office talking to management my unleashed dog sitting right by my side while their dog is running loose.their dog did not try to bite mine this time .but their dog was running circles around me and my dog where she was just sitting by my side. Then the stupid woman started tell me a got keep my dog leashed. I told her it was her dog that was off leash before and tried biting my dog. Then she started with thw lies telling me that her dog was off leash so it could go potty. And there is more.while I was there truck broke down so had to stay couple extra days . truck was towed to Petersburg 22 miles away so when we had to use the camp phone she asked us to keep it on speaker so she could hear conversation. They where not friendly at all . they lady would not dive fire would to our site. Because she did not have a worker on site at the time . we were with out a car and tent camping and it is snowing .she had no concern of us trying to keep warm. She had a tuck there to dive the fire wood down with. Just a lazy !! These people are supposed too be hlepfull and provide a enjoying experience they did not. There is more but I'm tired of typing. Their names Clid and Sharon. And their stupid friends. P.S Mike...

BEWARE OF DOUBLE BOOKING!!! Reserving a campsite means nothing here, if you don’t show up before dark they will rent your pre-paid spot to someone else to make more money. I reserved and pre-paid for a campsite for two nights. We arrived on the first night around 8 pm, there was no one working the entrance booth, so we proceeded to our campsite. We left at around 10 am the next morning to go to hike elsewhere (we car-camped so there was no tent or other items left at the site). When we returned that night (around 7 pm) there was someone else in our spot. We were told by the campground manager that since we didn’t check in with him the night before (there were no instructions in the booking email to do so) he rented our spot to someone else. Keep in mind we had already paid for the second night!!! We were able to find a spot, but this double booking is still a terrible business practice. If you reserve and pre-pay for a spot for multiple nights, it should be yours, whether you show up for the full duration of the stay or not. Or at the very least, the campground should clarify their check-in policy. There are tons of other campgrounds around Seneca, save yourself the headache and stay...
