Spruce Mountain Cabins — Hotel in Franklin

These cabins are great if you are like us and want to get away from everything. Even though you can see your neighbors next door you cant hear a thing. There is little to no cell phone service (at&t and Verizon) Fyi. Wildlife is the norm here. You can brew your coffee, make breakfast, then sit yourself by the window or on the porch and watch the deer and the squirrels scurry. They have a nice rock fire ring set up with picnic table and charcoal grill for outdoor enjoyment. Seneca rocks and spruce knobb are only about a half hour drive away (in different directions turning out of the cabin). They are nice places to hike and enjoy the views. Non catch and release fishing is about 45 minutes away (once again in both directions leaving the cabin) at spruce knobb lake and right across from smoke hole caverns. We always stay in the budget cabin. It is on the small side , but who cares when you are only there for a short period of time between exploring and fishing. Also, the owners are very polite, profesional and accommodating. I know this was a long review, but if you are still with me. I simply love this place and can't wait to go back! I love this place because it's Peaceful, it's dear to my heart, it's gives me the feeling of "coming home' , I belong here .. I lived on spruce knob for two years,two wonderful joyous years, two of the best years of my life ,my dear old Dad ,now 92 built the observation tower on spruce knob back in 1968, I had the privilege of exploring the mountain, it really does become a part of you , I hate leaving.......but I believe with all my heart ,there will come a day I will live forever on this mountain ,on a perfected earth, it's almost heaven now ,so beautiful, as Denise ditz's said in his book , mountain memories, YOU CAN STAND ATOP A WEST VIRGINIA MOUNTAIN and SEE THE WORLD ...cabin #2 a great place....love this place, kent cynthia and marisa,are wonderful,kind, friendly, good, honest people,I highly recommend their cabins ,thanks to kent for allowing us to stay ,you all hold a special place in my heart ! Wow ,months later my husband and I are still in awe , we stayed in cabin #2 oct 2019 ,it was great perfect amazing ! Just perfect , wow wow wow we can't say enough good things about it , the cabin was spick and span clean , the owner and his family are amazing wonderful people , I had the privilege of meeting them , when we arrived we couldn't unlock the door , due to our ignorance , we didn't follow the instructions 😁, pouring rain we was locked out ,with no phone/service, so we took a drive to find the owner, I showed up at their door dripping wet from rain , to find a kind friendly helpful family 😁 my husband and I can't give enough praise / kudos to the family and spruce mountain cabins! If you have the chance don't hesitate to stay here great prices too,we plan on going back every year ! Ps: the gateway restaurant,the peanut butter pie 🥧🥧🥧🥧and coconut pie...
