TLDR: Camp Hideaway - Fredericksburg will forever hold a special place in our heart. The views are absolutely stunning. Simply the best of the best in the wedding industry and couldn’t have imagined getting married anywhere else, with a staff team who truly cares about their couples. There are SO many venues out there, but remember, you’re not just investing in the views/location of the venue — you’re also investing in the people and staff. I don’t think five stars is enough to describe the experience we had with Camp Hideaway - Fredericksburg. My husband and I got married here in December 2024, and we truly couldn’t have imagined a more perfect place or experience. From the breathtaking views to the exceptional staff, this venue goes beyond expectations in every way.

I have to give special recognition to Catherine, the GM, whose dedication and passion for CH’s couples is unmatched. Along with Anna, the two of them represent the very best in the wedding industry. They don’t just manage events—they pour their heart and expertise into making each couple’s day unforgettable. While there are countless venues out there, the staff behind the scenes are what truly make or break your experience. At Camp Hideaway, you’re not just investing in a gorgeous location—you’re investing in a team that genuinely cares about you.

We opted for the full weekend buyout, which includes having the entire property + lodging exclusive to us, and it was one of the best decisions we made. Having our entire wedding party onsite for the rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, wedding day, and even the day after was priceless. It’s so rare to have all the people who mean the most to you together in one place, and Camp Hideaway created a space for us to share that joy. If it’s within your budget, I can’t recommend this option enough.

Despite ALL the curveballs that came our way on our wedding day—including rain, unprofessional vendors, and a bit of chaos (none of which were due to Camp Hideaway)—Catherine and her team never missed a beat. They went above and beyond to advocate for us, handle every unexpected challenge, and ensure that our vision came to life. Catherine was our biggest champion, consistently working to make our day magical, and she succeeded beyond our expectations. Without her and team, I don’t know what we would have done.

Stayed here in a couple’s tent in the middle of August and loved every minute of it! From the Instagram to Google Photos, you can definitely tell that these “tents” well exceed design and atmosphere expectations and standards. Everything was absolutely top notch, the bedding was an absolute dream, the bathroom was fabulous and the kitchen perfectly functional. I loved that they made every inch of this space so accessible and comfortable, there was plenty of room on the desk space, the corner sitting area an the bathroom had than sufficient room for my husband and I to move around and function. My husband is so small man either… at 6’2 and 208lbs he takes up plenty of room and not once did this tent feel tight or claustrophobic. Yes - at the height of the heat outside at 104 the AC’s did struggle some to keep the temperatures below 75 however it was still plenty comfortable at night - borderline Arctic freezing with the adjustable AC right above the bed aimed directly down. I loved every second of it - it was cooler in this tent than in some thermostat locked rooms in hotels! The soaps and bath salts provided were wonderful and dreamy. The beautiful pool right outside our tent #4 was a fantastic way to cool off in the height of the heat and the water definitely did not disappoint!! The location is just far enough out of town that it still felt like a peaceful get away from Dallas but close enough to get some Dairy Queen late at night after a few glasses of wine from the wineries hah! Speaking of the wineries - the location is right in the middle of all the wine action and plenty of places to visit within a short distance. A special little part of the visit was actually very small in comparison to everything else but we had a tiny hummingbird visit our patio while we were out enjoying coffee first thing in the morning… and the beautiful large gathering to deer we saw when we were coming home after the sun went down. I loved every second of this trip. The communication to book was simple, self check in was a breeze, the accommodations were five stars, the location couldn’t be better, and although we didn’t directly speak with any of the staff members I did appreciate their warm welcome card when we arrived. The negative reviews on here are truly appalling and incredibly far from the truth. We cannot say enough good things about our recent wedding experience at Camp Hideaway, specifically working with Catherine. We booked the entire weekend at Camp Hideaway and do not regret our decision one bit. The views are breathtaking and ALL of the staff are incredible. From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations at Camp Hideaway, and we would do it again in a heartbeat.

Working with Catherine was an absolute dream and, honestly, we trusted her to help execute our vision, and she did it seamlessly. She was responsive, supportive, and went above and beyond to ensure our weekend was everything we hoped for from the very beginning till the very end. We wouldn't have wanted anyone else to be our "person" for wedding day.

Regarding the negative reviews, the rules and regulations are there for good reason (just like every other venue), as it is clearly stated in the contract there is no smoking at all on the property, nonetheless products other than tobacco. Plus, burn bans in the Texas Hill Country are a real thing and heavily enforced for safety — all to ensure your time on property is a positive one with no issues. The contract is very standard and clear, and I say that to ensure you there is nothing that should warrant you from booking your wedding here.

When choosing a wedding venue, you're not only choosing the location, but most importantly, you're choosing the staff at the venue who will help bring any bride's dream to life.
