Longneck Manor — Hotel in Fredericksburg

We just returned from an incredible two night stay at Longneck Manor and we’re still in awe at the experience. From top to bottom LNM is a top of the line experience and combined with their sincere and dedicated conservation mission a world class attraction - here in the heart of a Texas.||As residents we experienced a curated wonderful interactive experience with the 4 rhinos, three rhinos and Bruno the sloth. Everything about the experience puts the animals welfare and health first and the staff truly love and appreciate their “job”. Our guide was Shelby and she was a wealth of knowledge and no question was so tiresome. We learned to much (and have already been on a safari in the Serengeti). The animals are very friendly and enjoy their human interaction without anything being “forced”. The whole setup is a labor of love for Rick Barongi, a long time animal conservationist and zoologist. He has done wonderful things here. New aspects are getting added over the next couple of years so we can’t wait to return.||The 4 villas are sensational and the decor is very African and beautifully done. The beds are comfy and luxurious and you have a full equipped kitchenette with a big fridge for keeping food and drinks. The rooms also have an outdoor patio where you can sit, chill out with a wine and just watch the animals amble about their area which includes and African style water hole gathering area. Staying in the Giraffe Suite at Longneck Manor was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality that set the tone for an unforgettable stay.

The suite itself is stunning—spacious, beautifully designed, and filled with thoughtful touches that make it feel both luxurious and comfortable. Floor-to-ceiling windows allow breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, and the highlight, of course, is the opportunity to interact directly with the giraffes right outside your window. Waking up to see these gentle giants strolling by and even being able to feed them from the little door in the suite was nothing short of magical.

Beyond the giraffes, the entire experience felt carefully curated to be both relaxing and enriching. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, always ready to share fascinating facts about the animals while ensuring we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. The combination of wildlife encounters, peaceful surroundings, and upscale accommodations created a truly unique atmosphere that can’t be found anywhere else.

Longneck Manor in Fredericksburg is a hidden gem that was beyond fabulous. We were greeted like old friends as we walked up to the Welcome Center. We had reserved the Okapi Villa based on photos on the website and were more than pleased by the spaciousness and safari-ish decor… the photos didn’t prepare us for the home-y feeling where attention to detail couldn’t have been more perfect. Every staff member was so helpful and courteous and it was evident that they all loved being there. The giraffes were the stars… beautifully graceful animals that touched your heart because they were so carefree (and cared for) on that very special property. The raised deck at the back of our villa gave us spectacular views as the giraffes and rhinos wandered around the pastures. Longneck Manor was such a unique and engaging retreat from the ordinary. I want to go back… and give more lettuce and carrots to the giraffes, and watch their evening parade into the barn, and see a rhino munching on hay first thing in the morning as I look out the door.
