Rockview Cabins — Hotel in Fredericksburg

I have never given a one star rating but unfortunately I am now. I booked the cabin for the weekend to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. We had a minor issue beforehand due to another unlisted fee. Upon arrival we had to pick up the keys from a property management office which was a 30 minute drive out of the way from the cabin. The envelope containing the key had a guidebook which contained a printout of unlisted fees and additional rules that were not listed on the posting. Had I known of these additional fees and rules I would have not booked the cabin. One of the rules was to kennel your dog if you leave them in the house unattended at anytime. I don't kennel my dogs. I definitely wouldn't have booked this trip if this was noted in the listing. There was a fee for cleaning the hot tub, which is acctually a standard bath tub with jets. The pictures listed are a bit deceiving as well there are 3 other cabins within less than 15 ft away from the one we stayed in. You can also hear a conversation in a normal speaking voice from outside of the cabin. I ultimately ended up cancelling the reservation and got a hotel for the night so I could find another "no hidden fees and rules"booking. My family of 3 had a wonderful experience at Cabin #5. If you are looking for peace and quite - close to nature - this is a perfect place. I had the best sleep! Very clean too. Just know that:

It's about 20 mins drive to the city center (which is why it's very peaceful). There's no wifi - bring your hotspot. TV is very small (but again, if your purpose is to watch TV, then look for another place). There's no dishwasher - you need to clean up before you leave. Towels are a little dated (bring your own). They do provide you with breakfast vouchers worth $7 each. (We choice Andy's). Coffee maker is very small - very cute in my opinion. I do have to make several trips to make 3 cups of hot water for my family. They do provide hot water - but the water heater is so small that when my son took a bath, we ran out of hot water. We needed to wait a few minutes before the next person can take a bath. It didn't take long though.

Overall, I will definitely will book this place again. I want to book this whole place for a family gathering next time. The cabins are perfect for this purpose. It is so clean and everything is in...

Beautiful cabin #4. Handicap accessible. Was great for my 84 year old mom. She loved our stay! Walk-in shower. Ramp up to the cabin. Loved sitting on the porch in the glider and porch swing. Looks just like the pictures! Love the decor. Kitchen had everything for cooking. Only thing missing would be some spices. There was just salt, pepper and some steak seasoning. Needed sugar for the hummingbird feeder.

Cons: - lots of grass burrs for the dog we were charged $35 a NIGHT for a dog that only weighs 11 pounds. With a $50 cleaning fee. This was NOT listed on the site. Just says fee for pets under 20 pounds. ONLY after I paid the required up front charge did the invoice list these charges. Then it was too late to get the money back. the deer feeder was never filled nor was corn provided. weather stripping was missing from the door. Snakes could easily come in. But they were calling someone to fix it
