This place is lovely. It's clear that the owners put an exceptional amount of planning and care into the place from the earliest stages of planning construction to the little extras they include for guests. If you like puzzles, the home is like a mini escape room, and while the puzzles need a bit of finesse, they're lots of fun. There is military stuff everywhere, which is initially very off-putting if that's not something you're accustomed to. But it quickly becomes clear that the owners are very kind and considerate people, and the artillery shells, ammo boxes, photos glorifying snipers, etc. all come from a well-intentioned place. One important thing to note if you are sensitive to animal dander: it is completely unavoidable if you stay here. I have a cat dander allergy, and I haven't had a reaction like that in a decade. Even if you have a mild sensitivity, a multi-day visit won't be comfortable. It's not that the place isn't clean - I think it's just that pillows, etc. are saturated after long exposure. Overall though, this place is fantastic. Allergies aside, you could easily spend a week here without...

The Outpost was the perfect place for us this weekend. The cabin is well-stocked, especially the kitchen, and we loved the additional touches of a free bottle of wine, candy, the telescope, kids’ books and games, etc. We love that it’s out of the main part of town, but still close enough that a shopping run is convenient. The beds and linens are comfortable and plentiful, as were the cleaning and paper products. The grounds themselves are beautiful, as well as the view. The management company and the owners were amazing with communication, even leading up to our stay. The owners actually reached out and asked if we wanted to add another night to our reservation at a reduced cost, as they had the availability! We also appreciated the seamless check in and check out processes. The check out process was particularly easy and reasonable, especially compared to what some rentals expect. The best part - how dedicated the house is to displaying support for our military and first responders, and how so much history incorporated into the very walls. Thank you again! We will definitely have to stay again the next...

Wow!!! This seriously was the best getaway I've ever had. This home is cozy, beautiful and so much fun! They literally thought of everything. S'mores kits, Hot chocolate, marshmallows, outdoor blankets to use while sitting at the fire pit, tons of wood logs to burn in the fire place, puzzles and riddles to find prizes hidden around the house, board games and a huge selection of movies to pick from. This home is like a mini museum, so much to read and learn from. You seriously can't get bored here! The owners made sure of that! It's very secluded and private. We loved hearing and seeing the cattle while on our family walks around the outskirts of the property. The stars were absolutely breathtaking at night. They provided a telescope to use if you'd like. You can clearly see all the effort that they put into making this home a unique experience. Thank you for sharing this little piece of your life with us and for honoring all those who have served our country. We definitely...

What a great place to stay on a getaway vacation. Quiet, private and relaxing. The house is filled with military and first responder memorabilia. Some of it very very old. It is like staying in a museum. It made me think of the movie “Night in the Museum”. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Lots of things to keep kids busy and entertained. Our dog,Cooper loved it out here too. His nose and ears were working overtime with all the new sights and sounds. He really didn’t know what to think when the cows came up close to the back fence. As a Marine Veteran and retired Law Enforcement Officer, I really appreciated this place and I am sure you will too.
