$168 a night and that was supposedly at a reduced group rate....you at least expect a clean facility at that price. Room was dirty, trash still on the floor from prior occupants. Took nothing more than a wet rag to counters and desk and without even any cleaners got a layer of dirt. Outside hall by the door was never vacuumed. Leaves and dirt accrued during our stay. The restroom near the pool area as nasty filthy, stink, and had trash on the floor. It stayed this way from Thursday all the way up to Monday when we checked out. Fitness area was a joke - had a weight machine and several cables were broken and one completely missing making it unusable. The poor staff was over worked - we were told that owners/management purposely schedules only one person (one!!) at a time. They have to do front desk duty, pool checks, laundry, etc. No full time maintenance, which means things are broken and building is run down. Completely ran out of towels on Saturday. The poor woman at the front desk said she didn't have time to try and get the laundry caught up. Sunday the clerk had to turn someone away from getting a room because they were "booked". In reality, there were TONS of empty rooms, but none of them had been cleaned, so they were turning people away. What kind of a business model is this?! I would NEVER recommend this hotel. Dirty, no staff, run down facility, broken items, overpriced.

We took a last minute family trip to the Polar Express, which I would highly recommend, and booked two rooms at the comfort Suites. We walked into our room to visibly notice that our bed was concave on the left side and when I laid down could feel springs and the box spring. The toilet in our bathroom was wobbly and when we put the seat down, there was a strip of duct tape where they had fixed a crack. I went down and asked the lady at the front desk if we could change rooms and she informed me that they were completely sold out and there was nothing they could do. After that we tried to make the best of it, so we went down to the pool so my daughter could swim. Again we were confronted with more duct tape taping up the door so it would not lock when the door closed, noticed a few outside doors like this too which I would question security of if it was not in the middle of the country. We tried to get into the pool however the water was probably under 60 degrees and hot tub was extremely murky so we decided to nix the swimming idea. When we got back from the Polar Express, late, the parking lot was not even half full. I woke up around 6:00 am, parking lot was still half full. It appears that the hotel is blocking off rooms to be able to charge $170 total a night for 2 star rooms.

First not all, the gentleman that was working the front desk was amazing. I pulled a joke on my son about why the town is called French Lick and he went right along with it😂. Told him that the towns citizens are french and the only way to get in and out of the town is to line up and they have to lick your forehead. Best laugh ever. The hotel has a sign up front about a remodel but I didn't see anything worth mentioning. The room was super super tidy. Bug free (thank god) and the bed was super comfy. Only bad thing was the water pressure was kinda bad but I'm sure that could be fixed with a new shower head and the tub did not drain very well. Think it took 15-20 minutes to drain. But not a big deal at all. I plan to come back and I will 100% stay here again. 10/10 recommend. Breakfast this morning was really good. They had a variety of everything and it was actually really good.

First off I would like to say this. This hotel is not bad at all. Our rooms (I had 3 in one night) were spacious and for the most part clean (in 1 room the inside of the toliet had a nasty looking ring around inside which grosses me out). Breakfast was OK (I don't eat pork), I didn't swim but the pool looked ok and the staff was friendly.

The staff was very friendly even though the nice lady on night shift when I checked in should visit her doctor because either she was falling asleep while helping people or she had 2 atomic seizures while assisting me. Either way I feel sorry for her because she was helpful.

Room 1. I checked out the room before bring my family up(standard precautions), and everything was fine other than the toliet. I was going to let that slide because it was almost 1 in the morning. As I was leaving I tried to close the door and the stupid thing would close. No matter what I did it didn't close all the way which was under safe. The front desk worker kindly gave me another room with no issues.

Room 2. I sent my family upstairs while I gathered our belonging and when I walked in my mom was killing tons of ladybugs. Now don't get me wrong ladybugs are cute but I don't want them fall on my head while I sleep. On top of one of my children is afraid of them for some reason. So she said would rather sleep in the van. I went back downstairs and the front desk lady kindly gave me another room.

Third time sort of a charm. In our last room the door closed (plus), no dirty ring in the toliet (plus), and the lady bugs were done to a minimal. There were still some in there but we killed them and kept it moving. My daughter slept with her head under the cover because she thought one was going to fall on her. Plus at this time she was so tired that I think she stopped caring.

The highlight of the night which wasn't the hotels fault so I don't blame them. Around 3-4 am a big storm rolled through town. I woke up because the fan cut off and it sounded like a giant train was coming. I looked at the window and as the sound got closer a big gush of wind and rain started flying by. Our phones started going off saying "seek shelter". We took a chance and prayed and went back to sleep. At this point we were over it. The whole town was black. The power didn't come back on till about 9am. And even then half the town didn't have power till that night.

After a long day at a cheerleading competition we headed back to our rooms to wind down, and wouldn't you know it THERE WASN'T ANY HOT WATER". I'm a veteran, and I've taken many cold showers but little ones and elderly mom hadn't. There still wasn't any hot water by morning.

If you've read all of this, please understand that some of these things were out of the hotel control but the big ones were. Would I stay at this hotel again, yes I would. As long as it's not attack of...

I usually never post reviews but after speaking with the manager regarding no hot water and his tone with “well sorry there is nothing I can do about it since you booked through a third party.” I’m sure he will read this and remember I’m the one who called from room 105. I paid a lot to stay in this hotel for 2 nights for a cheer competition. They upped their rates double normal price. First night was okay. Lost power around 4am from the storm which wasn’t their fault. Power came back on a little after 9am. Showered around 10 and noticed no hot water assumed from power being out. Came back to the hotel around 7 and showered and again no hot water. Called front desk and was told, “idk what to tell you I’m not maintenance. Here’s my managers number call him.” Manager brushed it off as a supply issue and I told him about this morning and he said “well obviously I’m just now being made aware of it.” Then said he would call someone but could take hours for them to come out. I asked for compensation and he done a small laugh and said “sure.” After finding out I booked through a third party then he said, “well sorry there is nothing I can do about it since you booked through a third party.” This morning again still no hot water. On top of this, near the pool smelt like a dirty diaper. The pool was COLD but supposed to be heated and going back and looking at other reviews looks like it’s been like that for quite sometime. The whole reason this hotel was booked was for the hot tub and it was covered by a platform and was non-existent anymore. The breakfast was nasty. Sausage patties that didn’t look cooked, eggs, bread/bagels to toast and waffles that you make. Only thing decent was prepackaged food. Door to the bathroom in 105 looked like it had been kicked in before. Only one light switch in the room for light near the door and one in the bathroom. All the other lighting was lamps. Not enough lighting at all. No alarm clock. Room was spacious though. Ice machine on first floor was broken again looks like it’s been like that for some time. Front desk person was never up there every time we passed unless someone was standing up there. Overall this hotel needs some work and some customer service education but manger isn’t going to fix existing issues it seems as they have went...

Me and my family have been attending a weekend convention at the French Lick Springs Hotel every November since 2016. We stayed there the first year but starting in 2017 we started staying here at the Comfort Inn as it was about half the price of the French Lick hotel and included free breakfast. For 2017, 2018, and 2019 I don't remember there being any notable issues with the hotel. In 2020 the convention was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Starting in 2021 is where our issues began. The hotel was under the process of being remodeled, not a major issue as I know that is a necessity in the hospitality industry and I know they can't shut down the hotel during the process as they'd lose a lot of money but it would've been nice if it said so on the website before we came in so we were prepared. They were also actively remodeling the floor we were staying on with tools and debris everywhere, and the pool and hot tub were out of order, which is something that was not mentioned on their website, and the hotel would not give us a discount on the stay when we brought it up. Okay, so... one bad year, and being it is French Lick there is not a lot of options, so we decided to give them another try in 2022. The hotel was surprisingly enough, still under remodel. The hotel literally looked exactly the same (minus the debris and tools, thankfully they cleaned all that up) so I don't know what the heck they've been doing the past year, but remodeling the property was not something they were doing... (And, side note, I work in hospitality myself, and when our hotel does a remodel it takes them between 5-6 months to do the entire property, and we have more rooms than this hotel does.) The room was also sub-par this time around. The AC unit kept leaking so whenever I'd get out of bed I'd be stepping in a puddle of water, the leather office chair in the room was pealing beyond belief, and the beds just weren't very comfortable. Not to mention, while the pool was open, the hot tub was not... This hotel has just completely gone downhill since the pandemic, and I think next year I'm just gonna take my losses and stay at the French Lick Springs Hotel. Sure, it's double the price and no free breakfast, but at least you know you're going to get a quality...
