Our first visit to the Shenandoah Valley was really enjoyable (despite the remains of a tropical storm and tons of rain our first day ), thanks in large part to Lisa and Scott’s genuine interest in helping us navigate where to go to best suit our interests. They recommended excellent restaurants, places to see and hikes in the park to suit our abilities. All Covid precautions taken. One morning I was leaving before dawn for a photography shoot and Lisa had my hot breakfast wrapped up and bagged with coffee to go waiting for me. Wow was I grateful for that!. The room and bath were large and comfortable. They are continuing to restore the property and besides the main house, there is also a cabin which can accommodate a larger group, hikers off the Appalachian Trail (really close by) or those traveling with a dog. Only improvement I hope to see (as we will return) is a big fire warming up the public open space on a damp, chilly day. The Mountain House sits super close to the top entrance to Shenandoah National Park and I...

Lisa & Scott were incredible hosts during our impromptu stay at their lovely establishment. Some friends and myself were traveling in the area and required unplanned travel arrangements at the last minute. We happened to find Lisa's posting on Airbnb and booked, however I was worried our reservation for the same day was too short notice. I was impressed that within the hour our same day reservation was confirmed. Upon arrival that evening we were greeted by Lisa who was incredibly helpful. We were planning on going to a chain restaurant for dinner a town over, however Lisa's recommendation of the Front Royal Brewery did not disappoint. There was live bluegrass music which was a cultural delight. Upon our return, our room was very clean and our stay was peaceful. In the morning Lisa made us breakfast [which was phenomenal!], topped with Scott's delectable homemade raspberry preserves. If you have the opportunity to stay at this gorgeous historically registered establishment, please do...

We were just rolling through on a road trip, but our stay at Mountain Home made us wish we were sticking around longer. On the phone we chatted with Todd who happened to be away the night we were there, but he was super helpful and kind in making sure we were able to get a room. When we arrived we were greeted by Lisa who couldn’t have been nicer, even though it was a bit late, she gave us a little tour of the beautiful home, took our breakfast orders, and got some water ready for tea just in case. Our room was super cute and offered us a nice quiet spot to read with our tea and wind down before bed. The next morning we arrived downstairs to coffee already made for us and Lisa prepping breakfast. She was easily and happily able to accommodate our vegan diets including my wife being vegan/gluten-free. If we’re ever planning on going through the area again we’ll be sure to plan our trip to include a stop at Mountain Home B&B. Thank you for the great...

Really nice place to stay. Very close proximity to Shennendoah National Park and the Appalachian Trail trailhead. Very through hiker friendly. There are a few different rooms on each level and I stayed at the one on the ground floor level by the front door. We were given a small tour of everything when we checked in, asked what time we liked our breakfast and what we would like for breakfast, and led to the room where it was very beautifully decorated and had the key in the door. They have lights and signs at the entrance from the highway so it's easier to see as you travel to there. The building was picturesque, and there's a lot of parking out front. The room had heating, a fan, extra blankets, an attached bathroom, and lots of storage. There were all sorts of resources for hiking, exploring local restaurants or places, and the hosts were an incredible source of information and were so kind. They even gave us cheese when we left!

Excellent place to stay for fun! Scott is a great host. It's close to Shenandoah National park (5 miles) and Luray Caverns (25 miles). A lot of hikers like to walk in and stay here. It has historical significance and most of the structure has been well maintained. Scott will give you a lot of details about the place. You will also love the breakfast. During the summer, they provide fresh fruits produced locally. Quick tips to save money: if you book this place directly then you can save approx. 20% cost. Just give a call to Scott (you can find it if you Google it). They usually don't charge the fee that Airbnb or other hotels charge. So take advantage of this and save the money.

This AirBnB was beyond amazing! Incredible hospitality. Lovely couple. Breakfast is provided with choices of home cooked food. The little cabin is cozy and delightful. Hot teas whenever you need it. Tucked away in a little slice of heaven right off the App Trail. you might not have service 🙌🏾 but you do have wifi and the cabin is a little cold during really cold winter's nights but nothing to stop you from staying here.
