First and foremost, this is a small and quaint little campground. It is in an area that is nestled in the western Maryland mountains, surrounded by nature. Even though you are secluded in nature, you’re not far from the attractions the area has to offer. Our first two days there, we were the only campers in RV sites, and to my knowledge, the only ones there, which was rather amazing for privacy. The sites are very spacious, however, I don’t think they’ll accommodate the larger rigs. Each site has a picnic table and an area for a campfire. Currently, each RV site is electric only, water is available, but only at the bathhouse. We had to fill up the jugs in order to put in our camper for use. Septic is available per their website, but it appears you must do so by using black water tote, because dumping from the camper is not allowed/not allowed. The campground had bathhouses, and utilized digital locks on the doors. Inside the bathhouse, It appeared to be very dated and not exactly clean. Supplies were available via storage cabinet in the bathroom, but at least in the men’s side toilet paper was not there. The bathroom were temperature controlled though. Wi-Fi was available via star link, and works very well. Glad it did because Verizon cell service was non-existent. Talked to management/booking coordinator initially, in order to secure another day ahead of our originally scheduled arrival, they were pleasant to talk to and very accommodating. Securing a site online was easy, and the campsite lock fee wasn’t horrible with other campgrounds. There are not a lot of amenities at this campsite/campground, but where they do lack they make up for in privacy, and seclusion within nature. Overall, not bad for the price. We stayed at sleepy Hollow Campground in a travel trailer, and not opposed to coming back. Hopefully they will continue with upgrades, and still keep the tradition and...

There's a quiet charm that weaves its way through Sleepy Hollow Campground, a destination we discovered after departing from the equally serene Deep Creek Lake State Park. Despite being easily accessible, Sleepy Hollow gives you a feeling of having stumbled upon a secret sanctuary.
The first impression that Sleepy Hollow makes is one of immaculate cleanliness, combined with a sense of spaciousness that amplifies the tranquility of the surroundings. Each campsite here enjoys a generous allotment of space, offering an appreciated contrast to some other private campgrounds that tend towards denser configurations.
Much like Deep Creek Lake State Park, Sleepy Hollow cultivates a gentle and relaxing ambiance. However, it exudes its own unique charm and laid-back vibe. It feels as though the campground exists in a bubble of quietude and relaxation, creating a welcoming haven for campers who enjoy peaceful retreats.
The standout attribute of Sleepy Hollow is this atmosphere of calm. It invites relaxation, making it a perfect choice for those seeking a gentle camping experience in the heart of nature, yet still enjoying the benefits of well-kept facilities. If you found a place of quiet enjoyment at Deep Creek Lake State Park, Sleepy Hollow Campground will surely strike the same...
Read moreWe spent one night here to visit family in Cumberland. It really was a fantastic experience.
We stayed in the bear cabin, a cute little A frame with quality of life things like a/c and heat (a small tower unit that works great!) and electricity. We usually tent camp (they also have spots for this) but for a one night trip opted for the cabin. It was great to have a bed and charge my phone without worrying about it. Cell service is spotty, they have wifi but we didn't care because it's camping!
The bath house was phenomonal to have right there. The hot water is HOT and having a sink with running water is always a plus!
Theres a liquor store/gas station 7 minutes up the road with firewood and some essentials.
New Germany state park is also about 7 minutes away with great trails and views!
You are in the middle of the property, and there are RV/Tent spots all around the area. It seemed a little close, but at 10pm it was like a switch was flipped and there was NO noise from anyone!
Theres a outdoor "yard" for the cabins with a shared split fire ring in between the 2 cabins and a picnic table for each one. Our neighbor for the night was great and we sat around the fire talking.
It was a great experience and we loved it, we will return...
