My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend to get a camper experience. His parents live in the area, and we typically stay with them when we visit, but decided to stay somewhere different to kind of give his parents a break. (They're in their mid 70's) The downside of our trip, was we really didn't have the camping experience which is nobody's fault but our own. It would have been different if we actually had a campfire and stayed here throughout the day more and with it just being the two of us, it was a little pricey. We literally slept in the camper, watched some TV and were out riding on an atv his boss let us use for our getaway for the majority of the time. Very nice owners. Wilmer refunded us money for the firewood we never got to use. Unfortunately, another guest had grabbed it and used it. Definitely will come again but maybe next time we'll bring more people. One last thing, we're not sure if there was a clog but noticed there was a terrible smell in the bathroom of the camper, everytime we flushed. We thought it was a camper thing or it just hasnt been occupied in awhile? Other than that, it was a good experience. A nice getaway for a couple that's for sure! Reading older reviews from this place, I have to say we had a good experience and are glad it's under...
Read moreFound this place after initially booking a motel room close to this area. The was better price and I figured I'd get the experience of staying in a camper since I don't have one. Wilmer and his wife Em are very nice and friendly! We realized the camper didn't have any coffee filters for the maker and they went and got some while we went out to eat. They would also wave each time we would go by. The camper was nice, I do think the sofa bed needs repairs though. We just used to sit on, not sleep. The park was quiet , probably because it's back to school time plus it was a little cooler for summer. The view of the stars were amazing! I have Pittsburgh light pollution where I live so I don't get to see anywhere near as many stars at home. It was also interesting to have some kind of military flight training going on in the late evening in the skys above! You can't see them but you can hear them!! If my friend doesn't end up buying a place in Potter county by next year I will probably try to be up there for the meteor shower around August 11th!! They have fire pits throughout the campground. Bring your own wood or they have...
Read moreSnyder's was our last stop on a 7 day trip around New England in a 33 foot RV. We visited Watkins Glen NY, Plymouth MA, Beavertail State Park in RI, and we spent two nights in Wolf's Den Campground in CT (also a nice camp) and traveled around that area a bit. Gillette State park is stunning. This trip was amazing and beautiful with many memories and a lot of fun. But it was far too fast paced. But we were crunched for time and we knew it would be awhile until we get back and we wanted to see as much as we could. So what does this have to do with Snyder's? Snyder's ended up being out favorite campsite of the whole trip! Snyder's is an old camp. It definitely needs some TLC! But the new owners are obviously taking that task to heart! They were friendly, helpful, and very open about the fact they know it's old and needs some work! But that's not the best part. We woke up in the morning to prepare for the drive on our last leg home and we just didn't want to leave. There is a peace and tranquility about that camp that just can't be found very often. It was hard to leave, and if we get back up that way,...
