The man working the gate tonight 5/29 should not be working there. We came in at 8:15 with our children to look at the campground for the first time and pick out a site for an upcoming trip. He seemed annoyed we were there from the beginning. We got a “15 min” pass. We were driving through the last loop on our way out and this same man comes speeding up and honking at us in his truck screaming at us that we were over our 15 min. My kids were terrified as he yelled and made gestures and tried to pull around our car. It was 8:40 so yes we were over our “15min” by 10 min but it’s not like we had stopped or were bothering anyone. And it’s not a reason to treat us like a criminal. The campground is large and it takes more than 15 min to make it around all the loops and back out the one way(unless you speed like a maniac like him). He just wanted to go home early he said, even though the website says the gates are supposed to close at 9, not 8:30)... horrible customer service and not the way you treat a potential paying customer who in no way was causing any disturbance like he was. There is no way I would pay to bring my children and family to stay at a campground with this kind of lunatic...

Nice spot so ill give it one starts just for the set up but I have never been bothered so much by the rangers. We brought all the kids camping and had our boat. First of all, I only wanted to camp for two nights but they said it's the Holliday so I had to stay Friday-Monday for $80. Second, they made us pour out all of our beer we brought for the WHOLE weekend. They wouldnt let us put it on our boat or in our car. We had to pour it all out in front of them and he told me to open all the coolers so he could check and make sure it was gone. Now someone owes me some money. Who goes camping and doesn't have beer? I would understand if we were being loud or causing a problem but no they just seen it. Third, after we seen the fire works we came back to the camp sight and another ranger came out and asked us what we were doing and we needed to turn the boat off because quiet time is at 11 and it's 11:30. It's the 4th of July you should know when the fireworks end. Bad experience rude rangers or whatever they are called. I will not be coming back or sending...

Weekend stay. The Staff were super nice. The campground is very clean and very well laid out. The views are outstanding, and the night sky is beautiful. Now, you ask why only three stars? The beach is horrible. Wild grass everywhere and needs resanding, bad. The bath houses are very clean, but needed repainting two years ago and the fixtures are right out of 1960. The campsite's are roomy but sand/sand powder and crushed gravel. So your gear and camper are going to be covered in gritty dust. The sound of waves and frogs, crickets and cucadas will put you right to sleep at night, however, during the day... No birds, squirrels, or other wildlife will be seen. Oh, and Ants? Be prepared, I've lived in Georgia all my life, I've never seen so many ants. Also, the dump station area is a train wreck... Too many sites for such a small dumpstation area... There were six campers trying to get in, with more showing up. They need to triple the space and double dump stations to four. (they...

This is my favorite of the Lake Lanier campgrounds, I have been coming here for 25 years. In fact many of the sites are so nice that if you judge other campgrounds by how they compare to Duckett Mill you will typically be disappointed. Many of the sites are quite large and private and most all are right on the water. there is something for every taste, many have great views, some are close the water, many are shaded etc. Due to the size of this campground it is a very good place to walk and ride bikes. while there is not a specific boat ramp for the campground the Duckett Mill ramp is just outside the gates and is one of the best boat ramps anywhere on the lake. Unlike Bolding Mill the campground hosts are actually paid and therefore always great and very professional. You cannot go wrong staying at this great park.

Nice enough campground. Hosts were very nice and not constantly in your business. The site was average at best (#57). Most of the sites there have you backing down a hill to get level, and had I not had some neighborly help and several pieces of wood to put under the trailer tires, I would have bottomed out on my black/gray water pipe. I at least learned a new trick to avoid that problem should it arise in the future. I do feel like many of the back-in sites are similar. #57 is only long enough to get the truck and one other car into the driveway. Most of my experiences have driveways long enough for the truck and two other cars, but this one did not. The bath house was adequate. I showered there both nights, and it was fine. The staff did a great job of keeping it clean.
