Stay here when on Galveston Island. Great customer service, spacious, clean rooms, amenities, access to beach outside of resort, full kitchen, near restaurants and only 15 minutes from downtown. Enjoy! #galveston #beachresirt #greatcustomerservice #sand #

I will start off with the good things about this property. It is surrounded by beautiful and well-kept and maintained land. Next door to the property are pastures with cows, I loved that part. It didn't smell, the cows are adorable and they do not disrupt your stay whatsoever. The grounds were clean. When we arrived the staff was friendly and when we entered our unit (2 BR. lock-off) we were surprised by how dated the rooms were. They were reasonably clean and you can see there is a lot of wear and tear on these units. The tiles are cracked, paint chipped, and the furniture is really dirty. Nothing a steam cleaner couldn't fix but, it isn't maintained. The kitchen is described to be "fully-equipped" but while they have a lot of items, need to be revamped. We couldn't cut an onion because the knives were so dull. The master bedroom suite has a king-sized bed but, it is an ancient spring mattress. It is so incredibly uncomfortable and I got up to to call down to the front desk to see if there was anything that could be done as I'd be spending a week in that bed. The purpose of a vacation is to relax away from home not go home sore. I picked up the phone and the line was DEAD. The phones are merely there for decoration it seems. I called down using my cell phone and I asked them about the phones. I said in case of an emergency they should have operating phones. Not everyone has cell phones or service. The employee told me that they changed phone systems and they have yet to get them running. They said that until enough people throw a stink, they'll get to them. Since nothing could be done, I moved on and brought up the bed. They said they cannot help me. I hung up with no issues solved. The next day, the air conditioning stopped working and the maintenance guy was very friendly and very efficient and fixed it promptly. On the second last day of our stay, the fire alarm went off loudly waking us at 4 in the morning. It stopped just as abruptly. I couldn't use the phone to call so I had to scramble to find their number on my cell phone. I finally got through and the person who answered was only giving one word answers and grunting at questions. I was trying to find out what was going on or if the building was on fire and the person must have been half asleep. They hung up on me and I honestly thought they were getting robbed and the perp was the one who picked up the phone. It was unsettling, I shut all the lights off and tried to sleep. It ruined our plans for the next day since we were supposed to drive a lot and leave early but, not knowing what was going on, we didn't go. Also, if you see the pictures on the website that show the infinity pool for the Seaside Resort, do not be fooled. This is NOT the pool on the property and when we arrived, we were disappointed to find out it was on their other property that we had no access to. To have the pictures listed under this property is misleading. Another thing to note, the smaller units that have been updated are in the buildings that do not have elevators. So you'd have to go up 3 flights of stairs with luggage and all. Also, housekeeping didn't come at all during our week stay and we were told that in order to have clean towels, we either wash them ourselves or pay a $9 fee. I am not a fan of writing negative reviews and that is why I listed all the positives along with the negative but, the only way for any improvement is for honesty and making the business and other travelers aware. As owners, we were disappointed but enjoyed our stay overall.

Not sure how to put this... Better than a normal motel? Heck yes .. was clean, nice amenities and had friendly staff. Maybe a great choice if paying cash, .....HOWEVER ... NOT if you bought into their timeshare .. by the time you pay your monthly fees, yearly maintenance AND annual member fees, THEN the fee it costs you to book the reservation AND using your points.... you could have just paid cash whenever you decide to go OR stayed somewhere even nicer. Bc you aren't the only one's getting access to the rooms. They take some and let cash paying customers have at it .. while you're sinking money into them every month, even when you're not using it. I was told I'd have a full kitchen... got a microwave convection oven, that kept malfunctioning to top it off... burned my dinner and ruined our food. Ice Maker in fridge stopped working. The beach is not their private beach as you are led to believe and the city came out the last morning I was there and threw my brand new sandals away... I wasn't gone, I was there for an hour tops picking up shells walking ankle deep, right there... The place was so tiny and cramped. There were just 2 adults and 1 child, we were so uncomfortable, and thought "1 bedroom condo" ...NO .. more like "fancy hotel room" ... DEFINITELY NOT WORTH all the money we're required to pay monthly/yearly. After adding up what I'm to pay each month along with annual fees too, I basically just paid 3k $ for THREE measly nights in the tiniest 1 bedroom place. Literally the kitchen and living room are 1 small room that would have enough room to fit 1 queen bed in, tops. I don't even understand how this constitutes as a "resort" type villa. Did take some pics of view from our room and by pool. Like I said, nice if cash pay, not worth it if buying in timeshare with them.. you can do better, for cheaper than your yearly cost.

Let me start my saying, I work in Resort Management and I know how difficult it can be but I've never experienced anything like I did with this place this past week.

My family and I went to Galveston for a quick week getaway and wanted a quiet location rather than the crazy hustle of Seawall BLVD. Thinking it's a Holiday Inn and the property on the website looks great decided to book it.

We showed up to check in at 4pm Tuesday, check in was easy but then I was told I needed to walk over to another desk to pick up my parking pass which I thought was strange but ok. As soon as I stepped 10 feet over the hard sell was on to sell me on a timeshare tour. I said NO more than 5 times a f the last kept talking until I finally yelled " give me my parking pass now". She finally gave it to me and I walked out.

I rented on the newly renovated side so the "Signature Villa". At first entrance, it was very pretty. Upon further inspection, it was filthy, baseboards were black, shower doors were cloudy, the caulking in the showers was black and there were dead roaches in the corners of the kitchen floor. My daughter opened the kitchen drawer and saw a live roach. Knowing the business, I know if you see roaches during the day, at night will be way worse. Upon entering the bedroom, roaches on wall. Alive!

I immediately called and said no way was I staying in a roach infested "Signature Villa". After a good 10 minutes on the phone of them telling me that roaches are normal on the beach they offered to move me to another Villa. I demanded to walk it first to make sure it was roach free since it was in the same building. Moments later I was walking the new unit and all appeared roachless. I looked under cabinets, under sinks and under the stove. It was very dusty and hadn't been touched up so to speak but at first glance it bug free. So we spent the next hour moving and cleaning the new unit.

I requested the housekeeper come and clean the unit the next day as I found mounds of old food under the appliances and I know good and well that's a huge issue if you have roaches. No one came the next day to clean but did come to fix the Blu Ray which I never called in.

The cafe that serves the food is Nextdoor to the unit that had the roaches and upon walking to the pool through the Seaside Cafe, there were roaches there as well.

The next morning after cleaning ourselves we went back to old unit because we forgot a shoe and when my husband entered the smell of bug bombs about knocked him over and low and behold there were roaches scurrying.

Needless to say, I was very happy to leave and very disappointed with it all. This morning upon check out I requested a call from the manager and it's been 12 hours and no call, no apologies, no offer of a discount or partial refund for the roach issue, or the moving rooms inconvenience or the dirty second room with no cleaning after it was requested.

So if you want a roach filled "Signature Villa", a dirty room and a hard sales pitch then this is the place for you! For my family and I, we will never stay in a...

Let’s just begin by saying that this is NOT on the water as photos trick you and show. The property is across the highway from the water unless you pay over $300 for a room. Prior to arrival I had called to see if our room could possibly be ready early, I was told it would be ready by 2. Upon arrival during check in the associate said she needed to see if a room was ready (now we actually got there around 3:30) check in is at 4pm, but she made it seem as though we were inconveniencing her. Now onto the room. We walk up stairs that we are all tripping on due to the lip sticking out (I literally fell face first) cracks in the cement and dead cockroaches for days lying on the stairs, then we get to our room and it wreaks of new paint and construction dust. The furniture is beautiful, but paint on the ceiling fans, and black sticky stuff all over the flooring. Don’t dare to wipe the floor it’s super dirty. The guest room has an extra weird door that leads out front and if you open and close it you are stuck outside unless you have a key. This is very very bad if you have children. There is also an extra door that looks like it leads from the guest room to the master but it’s just a locked door nothing else is there. First day was ok aside from the smell until we went to use the guest bathroom and the shower leaked all over the floor. Finally when maintenance arrived hours later the man said it couldn’t be fixed while we were there but not to use that bathroom so 6 of us now needed to use 1 bathroom. Then all of a sudden another knock on the door another maintenance man who said he would be back to fix it in a few minutes but never returned. We also noticed the ceiling had been leaking previously to us being there and we pointed this out as well. The remotes work with every tv so if you change channels in one room with the door open it changes it in the living room too. Also in the master bathroom we did not have a floor towel for the shower. Other than that, the decorations of the room were beautiful! At checkout I kindly asked if we could still use the pool as we didn’t need to catch our flight for a few more hours. The lady said to hold on one moment then replied “sorry you are now checked out and cannot use the facilities” I then asked about some sort of gesture for the bathroom situation and was then given a discount in which I did appreciate but should have never had to ask for. While I was there 2 others came in to complain of their bathroom as well. We did order from the restaurant and let me tell you, unless you like cheap diner food at an expensive price, don’t bother. Drive the 30 minutes to get great food and the store is nice, but couldn’t believe they didn’t have bottled waters so we had to drive down to the gas station to get some. Clearly this place needs a good look over and revamping even though we were in a...
