Smoky Mountain Lodge — Hotel in Gatlinburg

Our family had the most fabulous time at The Smoky Mountain Lodge in July! We were celebrating an 80th and a 70th birthday along with a 20th anniversary. We were 20 people in total, including our children, grandchildren and great-grand children. The cabin was spacious and impeccably clean! Kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms were well stocked with everything we could possibly need.

The theatre was a big hit, especially with the kids who enjoyed several movie nights munching on popcorn 🍿 Lots of fun was had in the awesome gameroom with it's pool table, foosball, air hockey and video games!

No better place for relaxing than in the hot tub on the deck, taking in the grand views of the majestic Smokies.

All in all, it was the perfect place for a family reunion! Everyone had a wonderful time and were sad to have to leave at the end of the week.

Besides spending time at the lodge, there were so many things to see and do in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and the surrounding areas, no time to be bored that's for sure!

We would highly recommend this beautifully appointed cabin to anyone for family reunions, get-togethers and retreats.

We did not see any bears, though we were constantly looking for them, as was our watchdog, Morgan 🐻

Beautiful cabin and spacious. Great for families to like to be separated into different areas of the house. If you are the type of family that likes to be in one open area, this isn’t the place for you and your family.

At all times we were all pretty separated since none of the areas are spacious enough for everyone to really get together. For example when it comes to living room sitting, there was enough for 5 people in each area. The dining room furniture is pretty close against the wall, so even though it technically sits a ton of people, it isn’t comfortable. The kitchen has a breakfast bar with a decent amount of stools but it would be uncomfortable to entertain there too long since you are sitting on tall hard stools.

All that said. It is a nice cabin, just make sure it suits the type of family you are bringing. Close-knit or one who likes to be in...

Perfect location for a large family gathering. In this case, it was a 50th wedding anniversary. Space for everyone to spread out. Large great room meant several cooks could work simultaneously and all 18 of us could sit down together for family meals.
