My husband and I had the best time ever here! The views, the amenities, and the proximity to all the other tourist attractions and cities were excellent. We visited treehouse grove for our 10 year anniversary and enjoyed every minute of it. We stayed in the dogwood treehouse which was the highest up and had the best view. The cabin is so well crafted and unique. We had 24 steps to go up to the cabin so brace yourself for the walk. Everything is pretty well lit but the ride to the tree houses is so dark and scary not to mention super steep! We enjoyed everything although we never did see the hot tubs, I wish every treehouse had a private tub, that would be the icing on the cupcake. The one downside to this place…. And it’s a huge downside…. There were no blinds in the living room area!!!! Why aren’t there any blinds. You feel so exposed and vulnerable!! I did not like that and it is almost a deal breaker because I like my privacy and you almost feel like they robbed you of an extra room inside of an already small cabin. The bathroom sink water was also cloudy but that could be due to well water or sediments in the water? The shower seemed clear and the shower head was so great although the shower itself was tight and I’m 5 feet even. Again, They need to add blinds to every window in the cabin or add the option. You are also exposed in the bathroom as well, they must do better to protect people’s privacy. Also, the loft up top would have been great but there’s no tv!!! Add another tv to the loft or at least in the small living area. We don’t always watch tv in the bedroom, makes it feel like you need to go to bed rather than enjoy the cabin. Make sure you bring a robe because the bathroom is literally in the living room where you are completely open to everything!! The fire pit was nice but bring your own wood, it’s a small half kitchen with a toaster oven we used a lot. It is tight but it’s a treehouse! It was the most unique and stunning place I’ve stayed. I didn’t want leave actually. We did bring bear spray Just in case. We loved it so much overall but please just add blinds to all windows and it would be a solid 10!

Breathtaking! Thats the best word to describe our stay in Treehouse Grove. The drive up was gorgeous, a little bit steep if you aren’t used to mountain roads, but so beautiful. We stayed in the Mulberry and went with family and friends for a total of 4 adults and 2 children. We had the entire mulberry platform to utilize (2 separate treehouses each with a loft, and the separate enclosed dining space and firepit). The treehouses were spotless. They felt and looked brand new. Everything is impeccably maintained. The layout is perfect. The large of the two treehouses had a sitting area and a kitchen that had burners, fridge, microwave/oven, and even a dishwasher!! While we didn’t have time to use the hot tubs, the mulberry was perfectly located next to one, but there are several throughout the property. Having TVs in both the bedroom and sitting area was so great. AC was nice and cold! The location is prefect for getting to pigeon forge/ Dollywood and downtown Gatlinburg- just a short 20 or so minute drive to each. The only negative and this is more personal, was that you can definitely feel the treehouse move in the wind- it is normal and they mention it. However, we had quite a few gusts in the night that intensely caused limbs to “thump” into our house and shockingly jolt us. At first sort of scary, but after some investigating we figured out what was happening. Unfortunately for me, this did disrupt my sleep and the movement of the treehouse made me have vertigo and we had to check out a day early. The rest of my group really didn’t have such a strong sensation so I will say again this is my personal experience. I wish we could’ve stayed longer otherwise!! What an awesome experience to share with our family. My 5.5 and 2.5 yr olds loved it!!

We stayed in The Hickory; one of the new large treehouses, the second week in July. I was disappointed and felt misled when we arrived as there was no screened-in dining porch. There was, in fact, no dining space at all. There was also no “private hot tub” as advertised either. They were still working on the premises…building a staircase down to where they would install a hot tub (I was told, by office staff when I called them, they couldn’t put a hot tub down there but that proved to be untrue; they were not finished with construction.) Construction was done the entire time we stayed. For 2 days during our stay we listened to chainsaw and pickaxe while the construction crew tried to remove a tree stump/root in the way of the stairs down to where they were putting in the newest hot tub. The stairs down to the Hickory treehouse platform had no lighting. They are stone and very slippery when wet (it rained 4 of the 5 days we were there). I felt that the stairs were a hazard. The treehouse next to us wasn’t finished yet and therefore wasn’t available to be rented. I don’t feel like ours (The Hickory) was ready for rental either. They finally brought 4 “dining” chairs to sit at the outside bar but since they advertise sleeping space for 10 in these bigger treehouses I’m not sure how 4 chairs are much help. I would suggest they build the screened in dining for The Hickory like all of the other treehouses have. If it rains (like it did for most of the time we were there) all 10 guests have to cram into the living/kitchen space to cook and eat. We only had 7 people and it was already crowded! We had an issue with not having hot water in the showers too. For me, it was not worth the high price we paid.

The advertised pricing is deceptive. When searching for rooms the place was advertised at $447 per night. However, when the lease was sent the base rate was higher. I kept sending emails asking why the rate was higher in the lease when nothing changed from my original search and what still showed online – same dates, same number of people same unit. I just kept getting an answer that was the “base rate” and it could be higher for unexplained reasons. Then there were numerous unavoidable add on fees ($10 hot tub, $250 cleaning, admin. Etc. We did avoid the extra $50 early check in fee that would have allowed us to check in at 3 pm, a normal check-in time rather than 4 pm) such that what should have been about $900 for a two-night stay was over $1500.||It was not clean on arrival. The $250 cleaning fee was particularly annoying as they tell you to take out all your trash and wash all your dishes before leaving. When we arrived the toilet bowl had dark staining, there were dead bugs in the corners of the living room, the fire pit had not been cleaned after the previous guests, the deck was covered in leaves and acorns, and the screen to the dining room was ripped so they are not checking for maintenance. So we got to clean things up (including re-washing dishes others had not washed well and apparently had not been checked by the housekeepers), on arrival. ||It was not peaceful. We were willing to put up with the extra 20 minute drive from the park to have a peaceful visit. However, according to the rangers, from mid-August to mid-October car enthusiasts visit the area. The weekend we were there it was the “tail of the dragon” and all the loud cars were showing how loud they can be – all night, up and down the mountainside to the treehouses. The black skid marks on the road to the cabins should have forewarned us. None of us got any sleep the first night – the treehouse walls are too thin for a sound barrier. It sounded like they were revving engines in the parking spaces in front of the rooms. In the morning, you got to enjoy the addition of construction sounds as new units are being built (and looks like that will be going on for a while). The construction workers bring their dogs so when I went on a morning walk, a pack of four dogs rushed up behind me.| |The configuration/set up did not work. We had 7 adults. There was no place inside or out where we could hang out together unless you wanted to sit in the straight back chairs in the dining area. There was insufficient seating and room. The kitchen area was too small for even two people to work side by side. There is no stove (an interesting choice) and the hot plate kept going off and on and was not sufficiently powered. It took over an hour to boil a pot of water for pasta. There are no serving dishes (made and served salads out of pots) and no cutting board. The one room had a coffee maker but no cups.||Come here if you want to be overcharged, clean up after yourself and others, have no place to hang out, not have a functioning kitchen, and enjoy the sounds of construction and cars while tacking on another 20-30 minutes to get to the park. It was the most disappointing stay I’ve had at a...

Beware: There was no warning of high bear activity upon arrival at Cottonwood Cottage, which was difficult to find due to no signage leading us to the unit. There was a bear on our vehicle three times we know of in 3 days. A bear came up two flights of stairs and onto our deck. All in middle of daylight. This same bear ransacked and had a swim in the hot tub nearby the night before. We called the office to report the activity but unfortunately it took several minutes for anyone to answer. Once they picked up there was bad phone reception during the conversation.

A Maintenance man working near the cottage cleaning up the hot tub mess came over to assist with a bees nest on our deck and helped explain the bear situation. He was very helpful. The Office had no interest in this report of multiple bear sightings. We are New Englanders - well aware of animals and nature. Our complaint is that the management is negligent in not issuing a warning to all guests - beware you will see a bear. Should be posted In the unit, by email with the arrival directions, on site signage somewhere, everywhere. You can’t feel safe sitting on your deck or screen porch never mind using the common grills or hot tubs. You don’t even feel safe going to your car.

The Office is never open. Very difficult and frustrating to reach. They need to get it together. In our opinion the staff needs formal training in Hospitality and common sense.

Update:

Just saw the response from the owner. Disappointed that it has inaccurate information. All we were asking for is a warning in advance of our stay of increased bear activity and a warning notice posted in a conspicuous place in the rental unit. We received neither. There is no information about bears in the unit as claimed. The click through link on the website and reservation confirmation email is not obvious and when clicked only has 3 bullet points about bears that are common sense with NO SPECIFIC mention of increased bear activity on site. Sadly, there is no detailed information at all provided by the host as claimed. That is an incorrect statement unfortunately for all guests not just us. For the prices charged for these units the level of management is sorely lacking. Instead of wasting management time trying to cover up a lack of communication we suggest applying energy towards addressing these shortcomings. Thank goodness we didn’t have our grandchildren with us on this trip. That could have been a real disaster with...
