From the moment we discovered Off Map Glamping, we knew it was where we wanted to say “I do.” What we didn’t know then was just how special this place would become to us. Not just for the breathtaking property itself, but for the extraordinary people who make it what it is. Off Map is not just a venue, it’s a community of genuine, kind, and hard-working people who pour their hearts into every couple’s wedding weekend. From the very beginning, Ronny, the owner, went above and beyond- answering emails quickly, hopping on video calls to go over details, and making sure every question was met with warmth and thoroughness. We felt supported in every step of planning, and even that exceeded our expectations.
When the wedding weekend finally arrived, Ronny and his team redefined what it means to be hands-on. I can’t count how many times he would catch me lifting or moving something and step in to take over. During the wedding itself, an unexpected storm rolled through, and while others might have panicked, Ronny calmly rattled off solutions such as moving extra tables to expand the dance floor, making sure ponchos were on hand, and ensuring our guests remained comfortable and happy. Because of him and his staff, the rain didn’t dampen our celebration in the slightest. Instead, it became just another memory of how seamlessly the Off Map team turned potential problems into smooth, stress-free moments.
The property itself is unlike anywhere else. We had 40 of our closest friends stay onsite in the beautiful glamping tents, creating a weekend-long celebration that felt magical and intimate. We hosted a welcome party complete with music by the bonfire, yard games, and even surprised our guests with a magician walking around. It was everything we dreamed of and more.
Deborah deserves her own mention; her joyful presence lit up the weekend. She constantly checked in to see how we were doing, helped with anything we needed, and the light breakfast she prepared for the onsite guests was raved about by everyone. It’s rare to meet someone who makes you feel so cared for in the midst of all the chaos, but Deborah did exactly that.
And yet, what makes Off Map truly one-of-a-kind is their heart. When we found out my mom would not be able to attend the wedding due to her illness, Ronny immediately offered us the chance to spend a special weekend there with her the year before. He connected us with a chef for a private picnic and had Deborah on hand to ensure my mom’s comfort every step of the way. That gesture gave us memories we will cherish forever and showed us that this team is not just in the business of weddings but they are in the business of people, love, and kindness.
Off Map Glamping is a place that will forever hold a piece of our hearts. It’s where we were married, but also where we were embraced by a family of people who treated our day as if it were their own. We cannot recommend this venue enough. It is, without question, the best decision we made for our wedding. And we know this isn’t goodbye, this is a place we will return to again and again, to relive the magic and the love...
Read moreJust got back from a quick little camping trip to Off Map with two kids and a dog, and it was JUST the weekend getaway we all needed. From booking with Lisa, the owner, to being greeted by Deborah upon arrival, we felt welcomed and well-cared for the entire time.
The grounds were delightful, filled with lush greenery and pathways, all the nature sounds and sights one would wish for (frogs in the bog singing at night, new guinea hens and chickens clucking around, herons flying over at dawn, neatly cleared gravel pathways, fairy lights illuminating the path to the barn and campfire), Off Map truly was a cooling balm to the hot and intense city/suburban summer we've been having.
The communal barn was so clean and comfortable, a great spot to catch a break and cool off under the fans with a nice view to the firepit. We stayed in a safari king tent with a king bed and an extra cot; there was ample space for 3 people and dog, and the beds, linens, pillows and extra table and chairs were all very comfortable. We slept so well in the platform tent! That cool Michigan air at night, you just can't beat it. I can't wait to go back in the autumn to use the tiny wood burning stove.
Breakfast was a thoughtful and generous touch to get us started each morning: pastries and overnight oats, yogurt and coffee and tea. For dinner, we used the firepit and grill attachment to cook steaks and brats over the fire. What a treat! :)
Finally, the shared bathrooms were excellent! Super clean, very conveniently located, putting the "camping" in glamping for the short little walk we had to take! It's a great way to introduce your kids to camping without a bit of suffering or struggle real camping requires.
It's clear that the property is so well maintained and loved, and I think it's the kind of place that is just going to keep getting better and better. Definitely want to go back for all of the above!
Oh, and yes, super conveniently located to South Haven and all it has to offer, including that awesome Michigan Biggby coffee, and the lake, of course.
I think you're...
Read moreWhere to even start, owner Mike and event coordinator/chef Jose are amazing and wonderful people to work with. I hosted my first ever yoga retreat at Off Map Glamping the beginning of August 2022. Everyone was so accommodating to me, my guests, and the requests I had for the weekend. I cannot wait to work with them again in the future.
I believe I was one of the first retreats to use all 20 tents that they have available, 5 of the tents include their own private bathrooms. My guests were beyond excited to see 1. what glamping was even about and 2. the ones that had the private bathrooms felt extra special to be able to use them. The entire site was clean and ready for us earlier than expected, they helped unload our cars of food for the weekend, and were all around helpful whenever we needed them. You can tell in their thoughtfulness when designing this experience down to each tent- each bed/side of bed has its own light and fan. Each tent has a battery pack or even electricity. The tents are decorated with a little reading area. Towels for the bathrooms are restocked each morning. Pathways of lights provide a guide to the main lodge or bathroom area. The site it simply beautiful.
Off Map provided breakfast each morning that we were there and they were extremely understanding to the fact that I was hosting a vegan and gluten free weekend by providing a variety of options for my guests. At the night they even thought to get vegan and gluten free options for smores! :)
If you have a chance to spend a night at Off Map Glamping, do it. If you have a chance to spend an entire weekend at a yoga retreat or some sort of event, extra do it! :) Whether you are hosting your own event or just enjoying some time away in the woods, you won’t go wrong using this site and working with these...
