Rustic Falls Vaughn Ranch — Hotel in George West

Rustic Falls professionalism was poor in the months prior to our wedding.

I have never written a negative review until today. I took time to reflect but wish there had been more information for us to make an educated decision.

Don’t get me wrong the venue was gorgeous (why we picked it) and our vendors helped our guests have a great experience.

However, the original contact was simple when we signed. Since, we signed 16 months prior to our wedding the venue had some bad experiences of its own and chose to add a bunch of FAQ’s/rules that weren’t originally committed to in the contract. When you’re in this position you have your hands tied so we tried everything to make sure we were in good graces and would get our security deposit back.

I found out on my wedding day that they had been talking disrespectfully about my husband and I to our vendors. They didn’t communicate to get paperwork done in a timely fashion. I knew how busy my wedding month was going to be so I reached out 6,3, and 2 months in advance and they never had anything to give me, even when I expressed my concern. Then, the month of my wedding they had a bunch of things to get done and weren’t amenable to work with me, since I had the same forms for my other coordinator. They refused and made me repeat unnecessary work that they even had in their forms but didn’t have organized because even after repeated documentation their staff were still disorganized. We had guests turned away due to this for cocktail hour. The coordinator (J) that came with venue missed four meetings she set up with no notice. When we let the owner (N) know she gave no solution or remedy. Come to learn she’s not even a coordinator (she sells insurance). Her parents are friends of the owner and got her the job for extra cash, as she bragged to one of our guests. Due to these delays, they were hounding us the last two weeks. During this time, my uncle sadly passed away and they didn’t respect our request for privacy. Instead they had vendors contacting me to see if that would help get my attention as I was in his wake, and funeral services. When confronted on this the response was “it’s business.. it has to run.”

They didn’t let friends of ours into the venue once our time started and lied to us about it until we caught them red handed. They didn’t offer all the services promoted initially on that day either. Lastly, we didn’t get our deposit back. There was no pre- and post-form of status of the venue so they charged back things that we couldn’t prove were already broken. Rustic Falls and all it encompasses is absolutely perfect! My husband and I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day! Everyone from our family and wedding guests were beyond pleased with the venue, staff and accommodations. We were able to have our dogs with us throughout the weekend which made it so much fun! We booked an all weekend event where we were able to utilize the homes on site for the wedding party and family as well as our rehearsal/welcome dinner. Paityn and Neisha were amazing at ensuring our weekend went seamlessly—coordinating vendors as well as making sure everything flowed as planned, including recommendations for golden hour, ceremony time, seating charts..the list is endless! They also had some great input on ideas/vendor suggestions. Rustic Falls is a beautiful ranch with stunning indoor/outdoor options. The wedding party has plenty to do as the bridesmaids were able to utilize the bridal suite for hair and make up while the groomsmen participated in skeet shooting and had fun with at the lodge. We were able to hold our ceremony overlooking the water, cocktail hour on the lawn and reception/dinner in the event center. It offered more than we could have hoped for! I recently had my wedding here and I can not recommend this venue enough!!!!!!! Screaming it from the roof top! This was the ONLY venue I had looked at and immediately knew this was it. We had the weekend package and it was sooooo smooth with the stay and the communication with neisha was so so so good. She was quick to reply with ANY questions I had not only throughout the weekend but throughout the year! The ranch/venue was breathtaking and we got sooo many compliments. Morgan was our day of coordinator and couldn’t have asked for anyone better! She had my tissues ready and helped my mom button down my dress, she really made me feel so special. On the day of the wedding, the staff there were on top of everything, ensuring that everything ran smoothly and that we didn't have to worry about a thing.
