The Mooring Bed & Breakfast — Hotel in Georgetown

We have been visiting The Mooring Oceanfront B&B on Georgetown Island in Maine for several years, and it has truly become our favorite family getaway to relax and reflect. We still remember the original host, Penny, whose cooking and warm hospitality made our earlier stays special. The current hosts, Karen and Todd, have continued that tradition with their own friendly personalities and kindness. They are always approachable, helpful with any questions or requests, and simply wonderful to chat with. A major bonus is that your stay includes a day pass to Reid State Park in Georgetown. We loved having access to this beautiful, scenic beach, it's the perfect spot for a day of relaxation and stunning ocean views. We stayed in the Rose Room, which offers three windows facing the ocean. This time, we were lucky enough to witness a breathtaking full moon rising over the water, an unforgettable experience! The view from the main deck is even more spectacular. Falling asleep and waking up to the soothing sound of ocean waves, the melodies of morning cardinals, and the scent of fresh sea air is pure paradise. Fresh coffee is available before breakfast, and Karen’s homemade hot breakfasts, featuring local fruits and fresh-baked blueberry muffins, are always a treat. Our experiences at The Mooring are always positive, and we wholeheartedly recommend this B&B to anyone looking to experience the best of Georgetown, Maine. In our opinion, it is the best place to stay...

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at The Mooring! This was our first bed & breakfast stay and The Mooring did not disappoint. Our room was clean, the house quiet and we had a lovely view of the water from our room and the breakfast porch. The innkeeper, Karen, is very knowledgeable about the area and gave great recommendations for restaurants and things to see/do (i.e. she gave us a pass to Reid State Park for the day). She is also a wonderful cook and made us such a hearty breakfast each day we were there that we didn't need lunch (i.e. eggs benedict, fritatta, muffins, etc.). She also provided snacks in the afternoon/evening.

Georgetown, ME is a quiet town and a great place to spend a few days at the start or end a trip for a bit of relaxation. (A car is needed to stay in the area.)

We would definitely return to The Mooring and would recommend it to family...

Her incredible cooking and attention to detail is second to none. The Mooring stands out above others B & B 's as Renee customizes breakfasts: eggs to order, accommodates dietary restrictions such as gluten and dairy free with delicious offerings such as quiche with potato crust, savory corn muffins, blueberry banana muffins and more. The views are stunning, the place is intimate, and its prime location is less than a mile from Reid State Park. This stay impressed us so much that we plan to start a tradition of going to The Mooring that we hope will last for many...
