Our room at the Tee-Pee Motel was newly updated and very nice. We especially appreciated the dresser for storage, mini fridge, and table outside our room. It was conveniently located for the places we wanted to visit.
There were some areas that weren't up to our expectations.
The doors (outside and to a lesser extent the bathroom) were very hard to close. My children couldn't do it. Someone with hand mobility issues wouldn't be able to do it. We had to slam the doors to get them latched and locked. I highly recommend some extra attention be given to this area because I'm sure it irritated neighboring guests.
The pedestal sink in the bathroom, while beautiful, gave limited space for holding items. I wish there had been more space.
I would have liked for the staff to be more proactive about service during our stay. They were easy to communicate with, but I feel like they should be reaching out to see if we need any items (towels or toilet paper, for example) refreshed during our multi-night stay instead of me having to text to request these items. I understand their approach to a non-staffed environment, but there should be extra steps taken to ensure guests have what they need.
Our room definitely could have been cleaner. There were cobwebs in the bathroom, the shower curtain liner desperately needs to be bleached, and my sheets had hair in them.
We left an item in the room, and the staff was able to help us get those items sent back. I do appreciate their efforts on that.
I recommend this motel if you're only staying for a...
Read moreDead bugs, dirt and cobwebs in every corner and under fixtures. I see this place was newly remodeled.... the new paneling on the walls in the room is wavy and warped. The cheap chairs were broken, so we couldnt even sit on them. The headboard on the bed was broken. The drawers to the bedside table were dirty inside and broken. The toilet paper holder was broken so wouldn't hold the roll. The company employs an overweight woman who is skipping the part where she has to bend over and sweep UNDER the beds and other furniture. There's cobwebs in the corners of the ceiling. There were messes and spills from previous tenants. The Tv remote was covered in something sticky and the back was missing. Our beds were made and everything LOOKED tidy when we arrived, but I started to worry that she just does the minimum to make the room look clean afterwards. So I made sure I stripped our beds of every single linen and gathered them all for her to easily grab them. I took off the 2 pillow cases on all 6 pillows and also stacked the pillows on the floor by the front door so she would hopefully be forced to take the pillows to be washed as well. The pillows all had old stains on them under the layers of cases.
Only one cleaning lady was seen, which explains the 5 hours needed to clean the rooms every day, giving paying customers less than 24 hours in the rooms because one person is not...
Read moreI had an interesting experience at the Tee Pee motel. I was in the area for work, and this was the closest place to stay to the plant I was going to be working in for a few days. I was very happy with the updated rooms, which were pretty clean. The trains were a surprise, but they really only rolled by and whistled a few times around 10pm.
However, my first night there was an incident where someone was repeatedly trying to get into my room at ~12:30am, punching numbers into the lock on the door and knocking loudly. I told them multiple times to go away or I would call the police. I ended up calling the customer service line for the motel management, but I was connected to some overseas call center that was less than helpful, and told me I would be getting a call back from the local team in a few minutes. No one ever reached out to me, and the person ended up coming back around 1:45am and attempted to get into my room again.
While I was impressed overall with the quality of the room given the price, I was disappointed by the lack of customer service. I understand there are no on site staff to help keep rooms affordable, but when a customer calls with a safety concern, you HAVE to listen to them and provide some kind of resolution. Please take this as a learning...
