My daughter and I just recently spent the evening here for a business trip. We have never went to a bed and breakfast before and wanted to try one over a noisy hotel. We are so glad we did. We were greeted at the door by Shawn. We arrived a little late and he was so pleasant and accommodating. We chatted for a bit and he helped us take our things to our room. He gave us a walk through and explanation on everything in the room. There were tea and coffee available to us in the room, although since we arrived late we didn't use 😞 There was also bottles of water for us in the refrigerator, which we did enjoy. We were able to fill out what we wanted for breakfast. Since we were checking out on a Monday there were no specials available. Only the Continental and English breakfast which was completely enough for two and completely amazing. I chose the English Breakfast, which was cooked to perfection and more than I could finish. My daughter chose the Continental which doesn't include waffles. Only on the weekends. But Shawn, being as amazing as he is, made a special waffle just for Avah with a side of breakfast sausage ❤️ We got to meet Jeanie and all three puppies. The puppies were so cute and Jeanie was so sweet. We were so happy we got to meet her. She was lovely to chat with, even for the small amount of time that we did. Shawn and Jeanie are the greatest hosts and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. 10/10 would recommend and we will definitely be staying there again if we make our way back to the Girard area. Shawn and Jeanie thank you so much for welcoming us into your beautiful home. Hope to...
Read morePros: Immaculate rooms and spotless house. The pictures don't do the place justice...it is tastefully and aesthetically decorated and it's a short walk to the rest of main street. Breakfast was an excellent, hot English breakfast (eggs, sausage, mushrooms, grilled tomato, etc.) with your choice of continental items as well. Shawn was especially friendly, and the dog Muffin certainly is adorable! The price was also very reasonable for such a place; we paid $95 with tax for a Saturday night. During the week they serve tea/lunch to the public during the afternoon. A wonderful atmosphere overall and SO cozy!!
Cons: Just a few minor things. Jeannie wasn't cold, but wasn't as friendly as I was expecting. Also, though we didn't expect one, they said there would be a turn-down service and then forgot, so we did need to go down and ask for some bottles of water and tea. Also, the bed didn't have much more than a thin mattress cover so it was a bit hard (there was a cot in the closet, but we didn't try it to see if it was softer.) It seems like in some of the other reviews, the guests stayed a bit longer and got to know Jeannie and Shawn more in the evenings....we just stayed one night (and got the reservation that afternoon), so it may be a more appropriate place for a longer, more...
Read moreThis is a belated thank you to our hosts, Jeannie and Shawn. We were in need of a break from covid isolation, but having immune compromised concerns to deal with, getting away for biking and hiking was a bit of a chance. We found a very clean and mask enforcing refuge at Four Creeks. Jeannie accommodated our needs by bringing breakfast(lots of choices) up to our room. She even shopped crumpets for us to take home (alas, no Wegman's in Pittsburgh). Our only difficulty was finding a restaurant for dinner...one that was recommended by them changed hours, and when open, would not seat us on the deck, away from the rest of their unmasked indoor patrons. Take away next door and a Wendy's drive through was our "fine dining". But we thoroughly enjoyed three days of biking at Presque Isle and close by in Ohio. Thank you for making our...
