We spent a fabulous week at Lakeside Haven for our wedding at the end of September 2013. We had our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception at Lakeside Haven, and our wedding party and family stayed onsite.||||Our family rented the entire property- the main house and both cabins. The house and cabins were extremely clean, inviting, cozy, and very comfortable. The views of Shadow Lake from the main house are extraordinary. There is an upper and lower deck, a large hot tub overlooking the lake and a bonfire pit. Our wedding party took turns going kayaking, paddle boating, had bonfires, jumped in the water...it was a blast!||||We had a gorgeous outdoor ceremony with our guests looking down on the water. For our reception we rented a large tent from a local company and were right by the water.||||A breathtaking place with breathtaking views of Shadow Lake and the colorful fall foliage. ||Our wedding photos with the lake in the background came out stunning.||||Gwen Maynard (the owner of Lakeside Haven) was/is an absolute angel and bent over backwards to assist in any way possible to make our stay more enjoyable, and helped tremendously with many local recommendations for flowers, tents, food, etc. ||She is the sweetest, kindest lady we know, a truly wonderful host who made our week special in every way possible. We just adore her. You will too. ||||Lakeside Haven was the perfect spot. Having our wedding on Shadow Lake was truly the best decision we could ever have made. Gwen and Lakeside Haven helped it be the most amazing day of both of our lives. I have absolutely no regrets and wouldn't have changed a thing. Everyone who came to the wedding loved the location, loved Gwen, and some have even booked vacations to stay there this summer. ||||We highly recommend Lakeside Haven to everyone, and would be happy to discuss our stay further with anyone looking for a wedding venue.||||We will...
Read moreWe have stayed at Lakeside Haven several times over the last ten years, because it's homey and very peaceful. We've stayed in one of the cabins, but our favorite is the two-bedroom suite downstairs in the main house. The views of beautiful Shadow Lake from every window are stunning, and I love relaxing in one of the comfortable recliners by the window after a busy day. We have never been able to stay at Lakeside during the summer, because Gwen, the owner, has many faithful guests who return year after year, and she is often fully booked. I imagine that it must be wonderful in the warm weather, because of the boats, floats and other water toys Gwen provides for fishing and boating. She brings down a large breakfast, which guests eat at a table overlooking the lake. The suite has a coffee maker, a refrigerator in the adjacent basement, and a large veranda with two seating areas. It overlooks the docks and the small beach. Gwen's rates are more than reasonable; we have stayed elsewhere in the area and her prices are an incredible bargain. And she's the nicest...
Read moreGwen is one amazing women and hostess. We rented her cabin with three bedrooms and enjoyed our stay immensely. It was April and it snowed a few inches one night-so beautiful and relaxing overlooking Shadow Lake. The cabin has two bathrooms with showers and great hot water. The radiant heat kept the cabin so well heated. The kitchen is small but has everything you need. There is good internet and too many TV channels! There was a wood stove which we did not use as the cabin was plenty warm. We enjoyed hanging out in the living area doing some puzzles which were in the cabin. There are two great porches which we did no use due to the weather. I would highly recommend Lakeside Haven and would...
