I love Stinson. I go to celebrate Beltane every year. Spring and fall are the best times, summertime the snakes are out in abundance (and yes, rattlesnakes are prominent in the area). I wouldn't recommend trying to camp down in the valley in winter unless you have 4wd and chains, as the road in/out is fairly...

Would have been a 5, but the mosquitoes were INSANE. Nice, quiet, loosely structured campground. Super private sites nestled among the trees. A little road noise, but not bad. Unfortunately the mosquitoes sent us to hunker down in our tent and leave asap...
