This lovely site has plenty of camping and activity space under beautiful, mature oak trees. There is a large on site kitchen with walk in fridge and small freezer, which is directly next to the covered gathering area. This area has a small stage, many picnic tables, and lights to use at night. The bathrooms were upgraded a few years ago, and now include plenty of flush toilets and sinks with mirrors in a well lit structure. The open air showers are still there, now with slightly more roof. Really, although it's cold this time of year (dress in layers, CA people!), it's really one of the most delightful event spaces in the Santa...

Large area for large gatherings with the ability to make any event better. Nestled in the oak trees and close to Lake Cachuma with all their activities. We are here with the Central Coast of California Girl Scouts for the once every 2 year Kaleidescope. The ground is hard and embedded rocks so staking tents are tricky. I would bring the large stakes that look like nails. Don't forget a good heavy hammer. There are oak trees spread around the area. Campsites are not designated but rather it's a large fields that can be organized to...

The county has a real good ranger taking care of the place (Nov 2018). Lots of projects being taken care of. The trees left are in good health, and if you didn't know what it looked like before you would happy. The big fire ring, resently repaired is the only place left to have a fire due to drought. The kitchen with 2 stoves and the walk in refrigerator is complemented with properly running sinks. The best public bathrooms anywhere! The small stage beyond the horse Corrales has been improved and...

Live Oak Equestrian Trail is the last remaining equestrian trail in Santa Barbara County. No Hikers or bikes! Since 1989, the trail has provided a safe, historic, and scenic trail for horseback riders. Stop at Cachuma's main gate for your day-use pass. The Rangers will give you directions. Very helpful folks! Visit soon - you won't be disappointed!

Three day eclectic music festival benefiting local public radio in Santa Barbara every father's day weekend at live oak camp grounds called LIVE OAK. Great for families with children including young adults. Really eclectic crowd also of all ages This is the thirtieth year. Come for a day or camp all three days you won't regret it.
