AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS Pictures on website are catfished! I looked around the whole site trying to find where they took these pictures!! False advertisement This place is very run down, a group of us went over Memorial Day weekend because it was the only place left open to book and it is VERY CLEAR why. Let’s start with the bathrooms, I understand majority of campers are in actual campers so they have water hook up to use bathroom. There were 2 working women’s toilets throughout the ENTIRE site. The other bathrooms were locked from use. Every night the bathrooms got vandalized and toilet paper was shoved in them. We saw ZERO staff on site. Every activity or amenity that was offered was broken or closed. Pond- filthy, litter everywhere. Pool- closed because it was too cold although it was 75 degrees Mini putt- looks like it has been abandoned for 10 years see pictures below. Closed Basketball- both of the backboards had huge holes in them and shatters so every time you shot the ball it would go through. Bathrooms- 2 working women’s toilets, 1 men toilet. Vandalized dirty. Soap dispensers in women’s broken, hand dryers broken, no paper towels. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. DO NOT GO. We made the best of it because WE HAD TO. The best time was spent at the site with our friends. Wish we captured photos of everything. AVOID PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!! Not sure how their reviews are the way they are!! Look on yelp tho.

This was our first campground stay outside of our home state of NJ. We arrived on a Monday evening and the office was already closed. We were able to quickly contact staff to get ourselves setup in our site. The site itself had a slight downslope toward the rear but easy enough for our coach to level. All utilities were located at the drivers side rear of the site which was perfect. The roads are in decent condition and it looks like they’re adding a few more rows of sites and the grounds seem pretty well kept. The lake is pretty and the whole place is surrounded by farmland otherwise. The staff that I’ve had the chance to meet have been great and responded quickly to any of our questions or needs. Unfortunately, in the off-season, the store and office are closed but they are always around to fill propane if needed. There are quite a few full timers here and everyone we had the pleasure of meeting was very friendly. We had no issues. Yes you will hear staff running equipment here and there to keep the campground running and you’ll hear the occasional quad, motorcycle or dirt bike but it’s nothing unreasonable unless you’re stuck up about those kinds of things. It’s been very quiet here at night as well. I wish we could’ve stayed here the whole month but it gets cold fast around here and the wind never seems to let up. Don’t leave your awning out! Can’t wait to come back when it’s warm!

This campground was a Yogi Bear site but since then it has become very run down. The bathrooms are original and definitely need to be cleaned and updated. I would recommend not using them . The pond is full of algae and the advertised boats and kayaks are no where to be seen. Upon check in there was no itinerary to include the guests but there were hay rides nightly golf cart runs poker golf and bags tournaments but if you were not a seasonal you didn’t know about it. The gift shop was poorly stocked and the staff was not friendly. The basketball court was broken as well as the kids jump pillow. The parks were worn down and broken. The ice machine had mold in it use at your own risk. The golf cart we rented was for four but the back seat tilted that you were at risk of falling off. Especially on the pot filled roads throughout the campground I recommend staying somewhere else and recommend the owners put a little pride in their campground and take care of the place or pretty soon you won’t have people coming back because the place is falling apart

I wish I could rate with -5 stars.

When I called 2 make a reservation I had stated that I wouldn't be arriving until 12 am when we booked a cabin. They asked how many adults, how many children, & any pets. I thought it strange that pets were allowed in the cabins but I was thankful after I confirmed with the woman on the phone that I didn't have to make other arrangements. I made the reservation & rcved the confirmation email. In the email it stated, "new policy no pets in cabins." I immediately called to confirm. When she checked she stated no pets in cabins. Can you imagine if I drove three hours with the dog to be told that I couldn't have pets in the cabin? See attached where it shows she selected two adults, two children, & one pet. They don't know their own policy. When we arrived at midnight we found our cabin locked w/a padlock. We went to the office to find a note containing a phone number. We dailed the phone number & the call could not be completed as dailed. Fortunately we found an employee wandering with friends in a golf cart & she was able to open the office & secure the key. Now with the way this cabin locks is w/a padlock from the outside. Anyone can lock you in! The lock on the inside is a slide latch that did not mate up. See pics. In the morning we set up our cooking grate over the campfire area. I call it that because it's just a clearing in the grass. It's not a fire pit or a fire ring. In the morning & afternoon the amount of golf carts being driven blasting music by people drinking is astonishing & carts being driven by children as young as we would est 8 to 10 yr olds unaccompanied by adults is equally significant. I wonder if their insurance is aware. We left for the day 2 visit local attractions & go into Peoria. We came back about 9 pm 2 find that the local drunks on golf carts had run over our fire pit & our cooking grate. One of the legs was bent & the grate bent inward. The firepit was 14' from the road! It took me over an hr 2 fix the metal frame, the leg, & reweld the grate after we arrived back home. The band was across from us & was pretty loud, we didn't know a band was playing across from us when we booked. Golf carts everywhere as they like to have a "parade." Great, drunks on carts. The band did stop at 10 pm however someone was setting off fireworks until 10:45. We couldn't have an enjoyable campfire. We stayed holed up in the cabin & we could hear the band clearly. The next morning I went to the office to complain about someone driving through our site mauling our grate. The attitude was one of what could we do. Um, limit drunks on golf carts! Sunday morning, we hurriedly made breakfast, squared away the cabin, made sure everything had been swept, clean & tidy, my wife & I went to the office to have them sign off on the cabin to make certain we recved our deposit. We wanted an employee to sign off & give us a copy in writing that the cabin was fine. The office worker didn't know how to open the cabin door! It is a rope with a dowel that you pull down on and the 2x4 latch lifts out of the pocket. She got snippy at us asking for the inspection and my wife shot back that our property was damaged and we have read prior reviews where they have kept the deposit without merit. The jumping pillow they say they have is nonexistent, the basketball hoop is downward at a substantial angle, the mini golf course is run down (there was a full garbage can with flies all weekend), the shores of the pond are filthy, the bathrooms are disgusting both men and women. In the womens there was a hairball the size of a rat my wife said all weekend, there's mold everywhere, in the mens there was a dookie in the toilet for at least a day. The latches are nonexistent in the mens room. The playground is run down. They cleared a gulley and put all the cut overgrowth piled up. This is by far the worst Campground I've ever stayed at in 51 years and my wifes camping with me for 23 years. Avoid this place...

We come here a few times every summer and always have a good time. I've never had any issues. But this year I came for my birthday and my mother paid for my kids and I to rent a little cabin. It's a square wooden room with a bunkbed and a double bed with foam matresess, an ac widow unit and dorm fridge. We were to get our room at 3 pm but we ran late and arrived at 4:30. I was told they needed to go find the keys so we waited for ten minutes while our groceries sat in the 90 degree car. Someone finally brings the wrong keys. Then I was told my cabin wasn't even cleaned yet and currently the cleaning crew was in there. The receptionist said to go ahead down to get groceries into the fridge. The people cleaning apologized to us and all was well. We got our cabin after 5pm when check in Is 3. I was sad to see the private showers and bathrooms were demolished and the only bathroom for use were porta pottys (it was 95°) and the pool showers and bathrooms. They are always covered with brown water and swarmed with flies, but it was fine, we still had fun. We had a great time. When I left the camp ground I knew that I didn't want to give them a reason to keep my FIFTY DOLLAR DEPOSIT that they would not let me pay in cash, even though I had always paid in cash. I thought that was odd. So they made me put it on my mom's credit card. I cleaned the whole cabin. Wiped surfaces with clorox wipes, swept the floor with the provided broom, and bagged up all of the garbage in a bag that I had brought. I looked around outside for a can or dumpster and there wasn't one in sight. So I closed the bag and left it inside for the cleaning crew that would be there shortly since we were told we had to leave by 1pm since new ppl were staying in the cabin that night. It was 12:55pm. I locked the door and drove up to the office to checkout. The next day my mom called me &said the deposit never got refunded. When I called Timberline I was told they would be keeping my deposit because there was a note left by housekeeping stating there was garbage everywhere and I had left the cabin very dirty and messy. I was so confused and knew it had to be a mix-up and hopefully not a scam. It was simply untrue. I was told that no one was there who could help me and they wouldnt be back for three more days. I asked for a number then to call whoever is in charge and was told she would have them call me back. Nobody called me. I couldn'tunderstand how bagging up my garbage for the cleaning crew to pick up would cost $50!? After three days of my mother and I calling the campground and being extremely stressed out my mom was finally told that they would refund the deposit. Then I got a phone call from the same receptionist who had said we trashed the cabin. I expected an apology, but instead I was told that i HAD left boxes on the floor and left garbage and bugs could've come in and in the future I would need to walk my garbage across the entire park up to the office parking lot and put it in the dumpster. That's fine by me, but nobody had instructed me to do so or said a word about it costing $50 for the cleaning crew to pick up a bag of trash. I was actually told upon checking in that the deposit was for DAMAGES. Why do they even have a cleaning crew if they are going to absolutely penalize people if they leave something behind? I am glad that they ended up giving my mom her deposit, but the stress that this put me through and 3 days it took to resolve it absolutely ruined any good feelings I had about our trip. If I hadn't thought to check up on this they would've taken our $50 for no reason. I wonder how many people didn't think to follow up and they didn't notice the money being charged to their card. And why did they changed the policy from cash deposit to credit card deposit? I am so sad this all happened. Timberline was our favorite...

*This is now my third attempt to reach a manager. I also called to speak to a manager on Tuesday. When I gave my name I was told, they would not be forwarding my information to their manager and they hung up on me. When I attempted to call back a second time and asked why I was hung up on, the woman stated that she was going to hang up again, and then did.

I have waited a day and a half for the promised phone call I was supposed to receive from management after checking out yesterday, however, I have not heard a word from anyone. When we arrived at the campground on Friday 6/7, we immediately noticed that the toilet in our cabin was not working properly. I personally went over and told management, who then sent over the cleaning lady to check this. The cleaning lady told us that she would try to contact someone to fix it and to just take the back of the toilet off to flush it manually until then. A couple hours passed, still no one came to fix the issue. I walked back over to the office and notified them again. They said they were calling maintenance and would send someone. Still, no one came to fix the issue. The handle was loose and at this point had now fallen completely off and we were still having to lift the back off to manually flush. Saturday morning, I reported this issue a third time and again was told they would send someone to fix it. We had my son's birthday party that afternoon and needed this fixed beforehand. We reported the issue three more times on Saturday. Again, no one came to fix this issue. By Sunday morning the toilet was leaking all over the floor, and we had to turn the water off. Again, we reported this issue. No one came. Upon check out, I was told by the man running the office that morning that the toilet was just fine until we came along, and that he had notes from his manager and the owner, both of which said it was our fault the toilet did not work. He then threatened to call security on me when I asked to speak directly with the manager or owner. I am not sure exactly what kind of establishment you guys are trying to run here, but what I do know, is that this situation in its entirety, was completely unacceptable. I would like someone to call me regarding this immediately. I also would not only like my deposit back, which you guys kept, but also, a partial refund for the issues we had during our stay, the lack of support from your staff, and the way we were treated and blamed for an issue that we had nothing to do with. I have pictures from the time we walked into the unit, and also before we left the unit. I also kept documentation of each time we reported these issues and the response we got and by whom. There were also multiple witnesses to all of this, as we had family with us the entire time. I will not be letting this go.

I am also including the Village of Goodfield, and the Sheriff's office, in this email as well, in case we need to take...
