Everything you can expect from military housing and more....problems.
So, we are leaving from a 3 week stay here. The whole time, we only saw a cleaning lady, once or twice, who walked into a just vacated house and literally stayed 5-7mins inside, then onto the next. The bare minimum (more like less) is done to turn them over for the next guest.
The house itself is ridiculously filthy.. stained carpets, stained chairs, filters for AC are covered in months (if not a year) worth of dust, ceiling cracking, sticky/oily kitchen cabinets, food still stuck on provided plates, bathroom sinks about to fall off walls, horrid "patch jobs", paint peeling, clogged vent in the only bathroom that has a shower (build up of dust can be seen), mold on ceiling in bathroom due to improper venting, wallpaper border peeling away in bathroom, disgusting yellow/orange shower curtain (can tell it hasn't been washed in a LONG time).. I could go on forever..
I will comment on the no outlets in the bathrooms...there actually IS one, its IN THE LIGHT! That is the oddest and most ignorant place to put it, but it's there. I guess you get what you pay for, but what we got, we really shouldn't have paid as much as we did (and it was already under $100 a night).
Only items given: 1 roll of tp, per bathroom 1 roll of paper towel 2 trash bags 1 dishwasher tab 1 half bottle of dish soap Only enough towels/washrag for the amount of people booked Anything else you need, you must buy.
In home appliances include: washer, dryer, fridge/freezer, gas stove, dishwasher and vacuum.
Also, on top of all of this, the house has a bunch of spiders, (thankfully dead) cockroaches, and large black ants. We all have allergies to dust, mold and cockroaches and this really affected us. We spent most of our time out of the house.
Wifi is very weak/spotty and you have to pay extra if you want anything decent. Cable is basic plus some kid channels. More adult channels, like HBO, are password protected.
3 beds: queen, full, twin. Queen and twin were like sleeping on concrete. The full was comfy. Not sure if sheets are ever washed, had a funky smell to them (washed immediately and also the towels).
If I can think of anything else, I'll edit...
Read moreHorrible! The home is full of mold and mildew. I was not even able to stay there due to my lung condition. My Husband and Mother-In-Law stayed only because they would not refund our money to go get another place.
When we called, the lady was not wiling to refund money and only told us that all of the homes are old and all smell like that. Obviously no surprise or care to them.
I was not even in the home for 5 minutes before I was not able to breathe. Thank God I had my nebulizer to do breathing treatments or I would have ended up in the hospital.
They should NOT be allowed to rent these homes to anyone as not only are there several safety hazards, there are severe health hazards!
We just got back on Monday and yesterday, my husband who does not have allergies or lung issues has started coughing horrible and has pretty much coughed up a lung!
Let's not forget that they had to change our unit that we initially had reserved due to an "issue" with the home....I can only imagine, did a wall cave in, or most likely the bathtub fell through the ceiling. It is truly this bad!
I would not let any animal or my worst enemy stay in these homes. Joint Base Charleston ought to be ashamed! You would have thought that since the Air Force Base now has something to do with them, they would have at least been...
Read moreThe Villas qualify as the WORST housing I have experienced in almost 40 years of military affiliation. They are very over-priced at $86 per night. Nobody else was staying there during our time and it was very evident why. Very dated, shower drain plugged, dryer did not work, windows with missing or broken blinds, the wooden trim outside was rotting, the siding was covered with green algae. My wife and I were attacked by fire ants living in the carport. When we complained, all we got was a reply and sigh, "We know!" Another representative stated the Air Force and Navy are not putting any money into the villas to maintain them. We would have left except that everything was full for race weekend. Also, the Forster Creek campgound is not much better. The sign falling down at the entrance says it all. Grass not mown. Bath house not...
