We visited this place for the first time. During our stay, we mostly went fishing since swimming was finished for the season during Labor Day weekend. We didn't catch any fish during our 5-day stay. The wifi may be free here, but you lose it very easily. The bars for my phone service was 1 or nothing at all. It's understandable to not have good connection out here but for business, it's important. It wasn't clear of when we would see the housekeepers, but it appears that about 3-4 pm was when they came around. For our experience, they did not clean well, but replaced the dirty towels. We enjoyed the scenery of the lake through our room window and the outdoor seating that was provided. It would be appreciated if the website could be updated and more detailed because we were planning on going swimming because nowhere on the website did it say about it closing on Labor Day weekend. Thank you for the good stay. Next time we come again, we'll know to book earlier than September so we have more...

The decor has not been updated since it opened which would be charming if it weren't also quite grungy.

Our toilet flushed itself all day and night and we had to explain to the handyman how to fix it.

Our room was tiny and the windows didn't open which was a shame in the spring.

The food at the restaurant is... edible, mostly, but quite slow to come out. That isn't necessarily a bad thing because the view is so pleasant, and beer is beer, when they remember to bring it.

I enjoy the gift shop quite a bit - I actually come here for gifts fairly often. I love the locally made soaps, the J.D. Dickson salt and even the state park towels are pretty high quality.

That said, when we stayed, the staff was pleasant. We had a nice time as long as we avoided our kind of...

This just a review of the restaurant. We went for there Valentine's Day Special on Sunday it was very quiet probably due to the weather and we came at 5 when they close at 6 on Sunday. Staff was very friendly some of the options were out but we were able to substitute anything for the same price. Example they were out of Cheesecake but offered any other dessert they had. Food was very good except they use the oil on the garlic bread that I'm not a fan of but other than that everything was delicious. Can't wait to go back in the summer and have nice views of the lake eating out...

We LOVE coming to Tygart Lake State Park Lodge. It's affordable, great service, and a great restaurant (the cheese steak & berry salad are both awesome). It's perfect for couples and families. Great for a day trip or extended vacation. Winter and summer are both fun. The cabins are also great as well, especially for younger family members or a couple wanting to have a getaway! The staff is wonderful and is part of the WV state park. It's all around a great spot to relax

I was in town for business and found Tygart Lodge, unfortunately couldn't stay here because the WiFi wasn't working but I would imagine most people wouldn't care about this once they see the view. The staff was understanding and didn't charge me a cancellation fee. I'll probably be back when I'm on vacation.
