We arrived at 10pm and stayed in cabin 306 which apparently had been recently updated (or maybe it's a brand new cabin?). We were initially delighted to see the brand new interior and appliances until we tried to take a shower. When we checked in the front desk lady mentioned hot water will only run for 15 minutes then we have to wait another 15 minutes for the water to get hot again. It turned out hot water quickly ran out and never got back again even after 2 hours. Called the front desk number and asked if there was some control I could tweak or if they could send a technican; I was told there was nothing she could do except that she could offer a room for shower next morning. No "sorry for the inconvenience" etc was uttered during the conversation. This is not something we (family of 4 including 2 kids) had expected especially considering we paid more than $350 for the night. (And as other reviewers have confirmed, no breakfast provided). Talked with the front desk next morning and she mentioned all the cabins are set up that way. It did not seem to make sense: how could the water heater of a brand new cabin (or a completely upgraded one) only has capacity up to 15 minutes? In retrospect, there was a gravel pile in front of the cabin that almost blocked car passage, and inside the cabin they were using a portable AC unit with hoses directly hooked up to the window. It seemed to indicate the cabin has not been completely finished, but they put in some temporary appliances (tiny water heater, portable AC unit) so that the cabins could generate revenue for them ASAP. Very...
Read moreTravelers planning to stay at this small quaint hotel should be aware of a few items: ||- there is no breakfast buffet despite it being noted both at the time I booked months ago and even today it’s published on Trip Advisor.||- there is no elevator to the second floor so you will need to haul all of your stuff up the stairs. When we checked in the front desk lady offered to help but at checkout the lady working behind the counter took one look at us from the landing and quickly disappeared despite playing with another guests toddler moments before. ||- the memory foam pillows are lumpy and rock hard after laying on them for a couple hours. ||- you will be charged in full a couple days before you arrive meaning you have no chance to use any other card then what you booked with. ||- Thin walls mean it’s noisy at times. ||Aside from these issues it was okay. Kind of inexcusable though to charge over $400 per night and not be accurate on the breakfast availability, especially with timed entrance into the park. ||Would not book here again. ||Pluses - it was clean, and had a cute...
Read moreI had the pleasure of staying at the lodge in late May 2024. Ashley, at the front desk, was an angel and was so accommodating to my dogs and me. A few of my clothes got wet/dirty and luckily Nisqually Lodge has on-site laundry, so I was able to wash and dry my clothes for the rest of my vacation. Ashley was knowledgeable about local restaurants, hikes, Mt. Rainier n.p. and knew when the sun set so I wouldn't be left in the dark on my hike. This beautiful and peaceful lodge also is dog-friendly so my dogs were welcomed; which is hard to find in nice hotels/lodges/vacation rentals. At the end of the day, I felt so nice to hang out in the lobby next to the fireplace and feel great about my vacation. This place is well maintained and clean and I could hear some elk calls from a nearby meadow. It is conveniently located near the Ashford-side entrance into Mt. Rainier and Ashley has great advice on where to go and what to see. Thank for making my vacation fun, safe, peaceful, and relaxing with my dogs. I will definitely plan another trip out here and I recommend my friends to...
