We live here in the long term section of the park and have been here for over 6 years now and have no plans for leaving anytime soon. We have a fenced in lot with fruit trees, a storage shed and most parks would have put 2 or 3 trailers in the nice lot we have with a beautiful lawn and water, sewer, garbage and electricity are included in the monthly lot rental. We have traveled across the country and never found anything like this even for 2 or 3 times the price we pay here.

Beautiful wooded RV park in the perfect location between Mt St Helens and Mt rainier. Quiet and private. My husband and I enjoyed our stay.

A old park off HWY 12. A nice owner. No mobile phone, no WIFI. Good for a one night stay.

Lots of highway noise, as it is right on the highway, but it did become a bit quieter at night. The campground itself is very quiet and wasn't busy on the two midweek days we stayed there in late August. In fact there were only 6 other campers (with two appearing to be permanent campers) spread around the entire campground. It's a spacious campground, with water and electric. As the name implies, it IS very shady with large fir trees. No complaints other than there were only two small bathrooms which were both quite old, unkept and extremely dirty. Really unacceptable for use. They are also locked each day at 6:00 pm...and not unlocked until about 7:00 am. Strange! The camp hosts were not friendly and seemed uninterested in making any contact or giving any assistance. Also would take cash...

We’ve stayed at much fancier places but Shady Firs served our needs and exceeded our expectations (a place with hookups to crash at night). We were coming from Mt Saint Helens (1hr ish to the peak) and were visiting Mt Rainier NP for a few days during our stay. Most days it was an hour to the hikes we wanted to do. The alternatives would be dry camping in the NP campgrounds or a couple places 15-30 min closer to Rainier that had terrible reviews. We liked Shady Firs because it was quiet, FHU, the staff was kind and helpful, and the sites were shaded. We camped here in a 32’ trailer but the site was big enough for a 42’ DP or bigger. Blue Spruce was a great dinner choice in Packwood which is the closest town for gas and food and on the way to Rainier. We’d stay here again and...

We made our reservations a few months before we arrived and they were waiting on us when we arrived!! We have a 35 ft 5th wheel and had no problems with our site, they do accept big rigs! The sites are are all covered with big old fir trees, nice and shady! They have full hook ups as well at a very reasonable price! Bring cash because that is what they accept! They have washer and dryer that takes quarters( Janice has quarters for your dollars) Tents are welcome and hot showers are available too! The owners Janice and Cliff are hilarious and funny! Leave your big city pretensions at home and enjoy a conversation with them, they are...
