We found Skybox through a search for a very low-key honeymoon spot after our wedding on January 8th. On the website, it was everything we were looking for; once we settled in at the Nest, we knew we made the right choice. The cabins, each hand-built and customized individually, were the epitome of peace and simplicity. Even with other people nearby, the cabins are spread apart so well, and conveniently built around trees that give you a bit of privacy to just relax. You cannot escape, however, from the sweet dogs on this property. Lola, Twinkie, and a working dog named Brother (not owned by the cabin owners) kept us warm company during our stay. They made us feel like family. During our stay, DFW and surrounding areas were hit with pretty icy winter weather. It's something I should have anticipated but as a full time Texas resident, I always have my doubts when snow is on the radar. However, this meant we couldn't get home due to unsafe driving conditions. We were able to extend our stay, transferring to the Hive, which is equally as beautiful. Rock salt was laid out while we moved all of our things so that we wouldn't slip down the honeycomb-like path (Yvan saved our lives). On top of all of this, everyone made sure that we had enough food to last us 3 more days. My husband has a metabolic disorder, and has to eat every 3-4 hours. They didn't know this; they just wanted to make sure we were comfortable. They picked up our grocery order for us and hand delivered it to our cabin door. I'm not typically a review leaver, just a returning customer, but I had to say something about the amazing people here and how much care they not only put into their property, but the people they allow on it. It really is a privilege to experience two of these cabins in 6 days, but my husband and I will be back to explore the rest of them. Thank you so much for making this feel like a home away from home, and for thinking of us during winter...

Glamping heaven. My wife and I brought our son and his COVID quarantine friend for a 3 day weekend to view the Geminid Meteor shower. The tents were wonderful, cozy and warm with heater and heated comfy beds and spacious tents.... the separate building with HOT shower, toilet, and kitchen (with supplied coffee and goodies allowed for cooking and comfort.) this is my way of camping. we were able to sit out around the adjacent fire pit and stargaze all night (with the electric blankets we brought) and managed to stay out even at 30F! before retreating to cozy warm tent. the place has other accomodations, more formal cabins that are all separate and private but all appearing more delux than our tents (which were fancy). we took the 1.2 mile trail around the property and met the friendly horses (next time would bring an apple or 3) and wandered along creek etc. very close to dinosaur state park, Fossil Rim animal park and other attractions and an easy drive to get pizza when we didn't want to cook. Can see this as a great place to return to relax, stargaze, and would be ideal for a larger family retreat (with separate accommodations for different families for alone time!)

hosts are wonderful friendly people and it felt very safe and isolated in a COVID19-safe retreat. will remember waking up (and falling back to sleep) to the sound of rain on the tent, and then then waking up to the shadows of the many trees around the tents when the afternoon sun came...

There’s absolutely no way to describe SkyBox Cabins.

As a disabled veteran, I have been searching for reprieve for my ever-revolving, and always spinning ⚙️ mind. The first time I visited SkyBox- I knew that I had found a place C to come to heal my weary soul. I finally found rest- a place where I can actually sleep and not have a panic attack. For Me, I fond it very hard to travel, and be away from home. Even at home I don’t find rest like I do here. That means more to me than I will ever be able to explain.

As I am writing this review, I am crying because there is nothing like finding a place that Brings your dreams to life. I still cannot catch my breath at the creativity in each one of these spaces. The intention here is to create the dopamine that we are all seeking in our lives. The colors of the decor induce endorphins that are palpable.I am literally standing in my dreams. The deliberate details of planted herbs and creative spaces to sit for breathtaking views are too numerous to count. Precious lights and rocks along with bohemian swings make me feel like I am writing the reality that I imagine!

This precious family that created SkyBox will forever be in my heart. On top of the experience, I am honored to have created a connection with these wonderful people individuals ; which makes sense because if their heart s created this space-then it matches mine. ☀️Thank you for what you’re doing, and thank you for...

Booked a quick getaway for the hubby at Skybox Cabins - gorgeous! We stayed in the Birdhouse, which was an adults only cabin. The booking process was easy. The directions and communications were flawless. The property itself is well kept and well marked. Getting up to the Birdhouse was accomplished via lighted stairs and then a small lighted suspension bridge! Everything was well lit and beautifully appointed. The mini kitchen was stocked with coffee, tea. The bathroom stocked with quality soaps, shampoos, etc. Board games and books for your use and a balcony with table and chairs to enjoy morning coffee or a gorgeous sunset. Let’s talk about the view - gorgeous! Felt like we could see for miles. We didn’t realize there was not a tv. Not an issue, helped us unwind and detach from tech, but wanted to mention. A/C and heated unit. We stayed during an unusually cold weekend and we had to turn the heat wayyy down. Heater worked a little too well and heat rises so…:) Outside were two loungers, a fire pit, a grill, a place for two people to sit and eat. All of this under a natural wooden pergola with lights. Very relaxing and quiet. Cabin is far enough away from Main Street Glen Rose, but close enough to restaurants. Thank you for an incredible post Thanksgiving weekend!
