My wife and I took a quick trip to Grand Cane, La. yesterday to allow me a nostalgic trip of where I lived and went to school my first six years. Grand Cane is very small town of less than 200 population with loads of history. The school was the first chartered HS in the state and taught grades 1 - 12. |We chose to stay in this wonderful B&B in the Cook-Hill home that is 184 years old. Lots of beautiful antique furniture and history. Our room was very comfortable with a private bath and large walk-in shower. The history with this place, inside and out, will make any lover of antiquities and historical relics, proud to say they've been able to witness it all 1st hand. The bedrooms look like they are out of a hallmark movie with all the detail to originality. The dining area, sitting rooms, rooms reserved for educational purposes...... it's all worth it.
