Cedar Point Resort & Campground — Hotel in Grand Rapids

So we started going to this resort as a family Vacation about 15yrs ago. This is a family owned resort that made us feel as one of the family members. Our kids were always treated with kindness and picked on to get them to open up. Once that happened we knew this was the only place we wanted to be. The resort has improved in so many different activities for all and has tons of plain things to do with open space. For example; || 1 fishing from a boat or dock it didn't matter. Some of the biggest fish I've see come off the docks. Did I say boats. 3 new pontoons to rent or beautiful fishing boats. Maybe you just want a plain 16' fishing boat. It's your choice but there equipment is outstanding. The also sell bait and Tackle. Whats in the lake to catch. Well how about a 28" walleye or a 50" Musky. Beautiful Crappies or Bass smallies or large mouth. ||2.the Beach has a ton of water toys for the kids canoes, water bikes , floating rafts . Hugh trampoline. Surf boards Everything to make a beach day enjoyable. The resort has a litte kids playground and a ship as there fort. There is horseshoe pits. volleyball course and a beautiful brand new swimming pool to relax in.||In the evening there is a community fire pit with free wood to burn for your Smores ,Marshmallows or hotdogs to get a campfire treat. ||The lodge has set hours so no worries about getting a hand with little matters and the seasonals will always help with anything also. ||The Lodge has games .movies. candy. Food .Ice. Ice Cream to take care of a cravings and a rainy day ||The Lodge also sells clothes to make your stay memorable. ||The washer and Dryer can be a blessing for mishaps . ||With 13 cabins and 6 campsites . 8 seasonal site I believe the resort owners run it there very best to keep everyone happy. . ||There are 3 restaurants and a gas station plus a liquor store within 5 miles of the resort. Be prepared for owner to traumatize your kids. We stayed August 2021. Advertised as pet friendly, however pontoons are not pet friendly. We are expected to boat and fish without our dogs and not leave them in cabin. When discussed with owner, they claimed it stated online boats are not pet friendly. This is it where on website. Owner also extremely condescending and criticized my dogs for being scared of strangers. Despite me being completely in control of my dogs the whole time and ensuring they did not disturb any guests. Advertised as having WiFi, but our cabin didn’t have Wifi, frustrating for the kids when there was a fire ban and couldn’t have a campfire. Lastly and most disturbing, if you want to experience the owner yelling at your children for bringing a blanket outside and them being terrified for the rest of the trip from someone they now call “Terry”, this is the place for you. However I expect better hospitality for spending $4000 for a run down pontoon with multiple issues and a cabin where my children felt less than welcome. Maybe if they were not persons color, they may have been less judged by the owners! I would never recommend this resort. Truly our stay at this resort was traumatizing for my family and it ruined our annual family cabin trip. We will for sure be going back to a resort we have felt...
