During my recent stay at this hidden gem of an inn, I was captivated by the perfect blend of rustic charm, complimentary breakfast/appetizers/desserts, and the warmth exuded by the exceptional staff members. From the moment I stepped foot into the inn, I was enveloped in an atmosphere that felt like a comforting embrace.
The culinary experience was an absolute delight. The inn provided healthy complimentary appetizers at 430 pm daily that included raw vegetables with hummus and a fresh fruit mix amongst other dishes. I was also thrilled by the thoughtful menu that boasted delectable snacks and beverages all made in Oregon along with beers and wines that also came from Oregon.
While it may not boast a traditional gym, my two-week stay for work turned into an unexpectedly enriching and active experience. The absence of a gym was far from noticeable, as the inn presented a plethora of natural options for staying active and connected to the breathtaking surroundings.
As a guest with a penchant for exercise, the inn's locale proved to be a goldmine for keeping fit. A scenic dirt road that spanned approximately 4 miles round trip, flanked by the majestic Rogue River, became my outdoor fitness haven. The road itself was adorned with delicious blackberries in areas, a true August delight, that provided not only a burst of natural sweetness but also a reminder of the simple joys found in the wild.
What truly set this experience apart was the presence of an irrigation canal, fed by the pure waters of mountain springs. This serene waterway not only added to the picturesque scenery but also introduced me to delightful surprises. At certain times of the day, the playful antics of adorable otters in the river were a sight to behold. These charming creatures brought an unexpected layer of joy to my stay, reminding me of the innate beauty and diversity of the natural world.
A special shout-out goes to the incredibly hospitable staff, who went above and beyond to make my stay truly exceptional. Brandy, Katherine, Scott, Tess, and MD (the charming dark-haired girl in the black hat at the front desk) were the heart and soul of this inn. Their genuine kindness, attentive service, and genuine smiles were an integral part of what made this stay unforgettable. Whether it was providing insightful recommendations for local attractions, ensuring my dietary preferences were catered to, or simply engaging in heartfelt conversations that made me feel like a cherished guest, their commitment to hospitality was evident in every interaction.
I must also acknowledge the housekeeping staff, who consistently went out of their way to ensure my comfort. Their dedication was evident in their thoughtful gestures of asking if I needed anything further. Their commitment to making my stay as comfortable as possible did not go unnoticed, and I'm truly grateful for their efforts.
In conclusion, this rustic inn is a haven of tranquility and heartwarming experiences. From the delectable snacks, beverages, fruit, and vegetable offerings to the exceptional staff members who treated me like family, every aspect of my stay exceeded expectations. I wholeheartedly recommend this inn to anyone seeking a retreat that offers a genuine sense of belonging. My time here was nothing short of magical, and I eagerly await the opportunity to return to this...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to take the 3 hours drive from Bend to unplug for a weekend at Weasku Inn. We were excited to unplug for a weekend and to step back in time so to speak. I had read reviews of exceptional cleanliness and we were looking forward to a rustic, relaxing weekend.||We had an unfortunate arrival at Weasku Inn, checking in to a Riverfront Cabin Suite that looked clean at first glance and got dirtier and dirtier as we began to unpack. Upon finding an inexcusable mess in the bathroom of the room we'd be in less than 5 minutes, I called Front Desk and they promptly moved us to the room next door which was cleaner, but still in desperate need of a good, deep-clean. I tried not to look too closely during our 2-night stay but allowed myself a more critical eye upon packing for check out and was quite appalled. A dusting, new carpet that isn't stained, and a fresh coat of paint would be a great start. The bedding was also lumpy, but at least the sheets in our 2nd cabin weren’t stained.||While riverfront, there are no views of the river (at least from Cabin 41). And no real maintained path to walk directly along the river.||The grounds themself and the lodge are both charming. Again, with a nice deep clean and some desperately needed updates (not for modernization's sake, but for cleanliness's sake) they could really have something special. For mobile limited folk, you’ll want to have front desk people assist you with check-in as there is a bit of a gravel walkway from where you park to the riverfront rooms. ||The free. breakfast is a nice touch as is the reception from 4:30-6:30 (no alcoholic drinks included in reception). A vegetarian option other than cold vegetables would be appreciated. ||Even though my husband is an avid fly-fisherman and this would be a great spot for us to enjoy a relaxing weekend together, we will not return due to the cleanliness issues...
Read moreThis is a quaint, historic inn with beautiful grounds. We stayed in a king cabin, which was a good choice for a bit more privacy and room. The inside of the cabin was clean, but it smelled musty and was very tired and dated; it could definitely use some updating. The AC worked great but was loud (I'll take loud over hot any day). Inside the cabin was otherwise quiet, except that it has thin walls between the next-door unit, so we heard a baby crying and a toddler running/stomping for the first couple of hours. Fortunately, they were quiet overnight. The bed was too firm for us, but the bedding was nice. The freeway is just across the river, which is right outside the cabin, so you can hear it very well when outside, but we did not hear it inside. The cabin had a deck with 2 chairs and a small table, but inexplicably, there was an ashtray on the table. Why? I thought these cabins were non-smoking. Since all of the windows can be opened, I'm guessing that's why the inside smelled musty. Why would you invite folks to smoke on the deck (all wooden, dry summers, and of course, smoke that can easily permeate inside the cabin if the window is open)? Doesn't make sense, and really cheapened the experience.||Our favorite parts of this one-night stay were the evening appetizers and the breakfast, which are both included in the cost. They also serve cookies after 8pm and offer a s'mores kit for using by the outdoor fire pit at night, but we did not partake of those. The breakfast was basic and not high quality, but it was very nice to have options. The staff were friendly.||If I needed a place to stay in Grants Pass, I would stay here again, but I wouldn't choose it as a...
