First and foremost, this hotel should be classified with a one (1) rating and it should be condemned until improvements are made to the entire establishment based on reviews and experience. I truly understand why this hotel has a no refund policy if you cancel and beware buyers, I asked to pay at the counter and it requested a small deposit on Hotel.com and the balance was due upon arrival. But understand that once I checked in the money had already been credited to their account for the room, so if I had asked to see the room first before paying for it, I would have cancelled the balance. But instead they took the balance from my account which meant that they could not refund my money if I disapproved of the room or hotel accommodations. Now, let’s talk about the room; dirty floors, washcloths dingy, headboard has holes in the headboard and mounted loosely on the wall (luckily there was no serious action or the headboard would have fell on someone’s head…lawsuit) Toilet is terrible and loose and the flushing looks and flush like a tornado! And my room has this ¼ sofa that truly is out of place or need to be removed. There is no room service for more than a one day stay, even though I had arranged for a 3 day stay for the Aggie homecoming, there was no courtesy room service even when requested! The only props I would award this hotel are the cleanliness of the lobby, the refrigerator, and the A/C unit was great. Even though for some this is acceptable, there is no excuse for quality of the hotel because of the low pricing they offer, but no one wants to sleep in a low quality hotel that nearly packed out during the Aggie Weekend events nor any day to stay here. This is a desperate hotel for those who chose have no other options and this one is it! This hotel gets a one star for the fridge and A/C. PS, I even asked the cleaning crew to come clean my room the second day and they said they cannot clean it, see the front desk! The front desk said the cleaning crew has to be notified, but I didn’t speak Spanish so it did not matter to them that the room...
Read moreIf you like roaches, romance, and regret… book now. 🤦🏽♀️ I stayed at OYO Hotel Greensboro East I-40 and accidentally booked a room in Survivor: Roach Island.
The second I walked in, the musty smell hit me. Then came the bugs—roaches of every size, crawling under the sink, up the walls, on the bed, on the chair, even under the pillow like they paid rent. I ended up standing all night by the mirror/sink area just charging my phone, because I was too scared to sit or lay down.
The washcloths were so dingy I didn’t even bother—I used the bar soap with just my hands. Didn’t touch the towels. The ceiling was deteriorating, the bathroom door paint was peeling, and the toilet sounded like it was trying to alert the neighbors every time I flushed. Speaking of noise, I could hear the person next door banging like they were right in my room.
And the TV? Automatically blasted at volume 100 like a horror movie jump scare. No warning.
Now I will say: the AC/heat worked perfectly, the hot water was solid, the mirror was huge, and the location was great for me since I needed to be close to the Greyhound station.
The guy at the front desk was actually helpful, too. My card kept declining even though I had money, and I was ready to call my bank. Turns out the machine wouldn’t accept my card with a PIN. He had to bypass it completely, and once he did, it worked with no problem.
Oh—and before I even got there, I was told there would be a deposit required between $50 and $200. But when I arrived, they didn’t charge me a deposit at all. So I don’t know if that’s a red flag or a blessing, but it definitely threw me off.
I wish I’d taken the other reviews seriously when they said this place caters to homeless people. At first I didn’t understand… but someone said, “If you’re used to sleeping on the street, a few roaches don’t bother you.” And honestly? That made sense.
Never again. Not even for free. Book at...

This place used to be a Rodeway Inn, and honestly, it should have stayed that way because it’s nothing short of a horror show now. The sign is still up, which is an eerie reminder of what was once a chain that at least had some semblance of standards. The moment I pulled onto the property, I could tell something was off. The grounds are unsafe—especially for a single female traveler. There were people loitering in their cars, popping in and out of rooms for quick, sketchy visits, making it clear that this place is not only dirty but downright dangerous.
Now, let’s talk about the room—if you can even call it that. It was filthy. The sink didn’t drain at all, leaving water to just sit there, and the AC unit had a paint can stuffed underneath it. I kid you not. But the real kicker was the bugs. There were dead ones in the corners of the room, and worst of all—there were bed bugs in the bed. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough.
I lasted less than an hour before I packed up and went to find a safer, cleaner hotel. I’m appalled to say that the property managers refused to issue a refund, despite the terrible conditions. This place is a health hazard and a safety risk. If you're looking for somewhere to stay, do yourself a favor and stay FAR away from this so-called motel. It’s not worth the risk to your health, safety, or peace of mind.
ADDENDUM to the hotel management:
Thank you for your response. I did follow your instructions and reached out to the property as you requested, but it’s been over a week now and I still haven’t received any communication or updates. Given the lack of follow-through, I can’t help but feel that the offer to refund my money was merely a gesture to improve your standing on Google Reviews rather than a genuine attempt to resolve the issue. I would appreciate a prompt and sincere resolution to...
