We went for the weekend with a group of friends. It was bad from the time we checked in. Our reservation said site 10. So I assumed we had booked with the rest of the group in electric tents. When we got there they told us we had not. Lady at the front got snippy and said “ I’ll re-email your reservation.” She said those sites were booked up months before I had booked. Which again, wasn’t true because our group had just booked. We decided to stay anyways. You have to completely turn off the music at 10pm which I think is crazy especially on a weekend camping trip with kids and all. Swimming- we went and found a spot to swim due to their “beach area” not being safe for smaller children. It has a huge drop off which isn’t good for smaller kids. When we found a spot, we were told we could not be there due to people fishing down from us at their camp site. The gentlemen working at the place were again, very rude about it, with the exception of one. I did not get their names. We were able to work it out with the people fishing. They were fine with us just moving down. We then had an issue with our teenage kids driving. A golf cart. We were told that they had to have license in order to drive. Funny thing is, multiple kids, small than ours were driving them all weekend. Much less the even smaller kids driving the jet skis all over the lake, but I guess they were not a problem. They decided to come take our golf cart from us. After calling 3 more workers over to our site. Then. They called the police to watch after us. Lol. Literally not doing anything wrong. Just try to enjoy our time with all of our group. 2 pm rolls around, we were told to turn down our music, while others had their music blaring we could hear from our site. Police drove past us all night, watched us play volleyball, etc. We decided we would not even spend another dime shopping at their store after everything as well. We would rather drive 15 minutes out, instead of giving them another dime of ours. To be honest, it felt like after the first incident, we were being harassed. And for no reason. We made sure we constantly cleaned up after ourselves as well as picking up other campers trash. We go camping as a large group every year. This will be the first and last time we will ever be back here. We have never had any issues anywhere we go until this. VERY DISAPPOINTING! They have...

We have been going to Wind Point for years. This year we were trying something new a pop up camper. Staff seemed to not care for this and made sure to set us as far from the bathrooms as possible. There have been a lot of changes this last year or two The park does look cleaner but so many trees have been cut down. Once you could tent camp at the RV spots in order to have electricity no more, tent camping is primitive only now. Meaning water only. This year the ants were horrible. They did spray around our pop up but didn't last long. We had to buy ant spray and still ants every where.

I will add on a different weekend we went to visit family camping here and a day pass used to be $5.00 a car now they are charging $5.00 a person for a day pass. So, we decided to look around the park before leaving. Yes. There have been some improvement but one area is now for long term travel trailer /Rvs. This is by the water. They did set a a small area for those staying short visits but couldn't tell if they had full hook ups. They seem to be keeping the interia for both short and long visits and doesn't seem like they have put one dime into improving this area. It looks no different than it did my first visit over 15 years ago. It is a drive through making easier to park but a hit or miss if you will get asphalt or gravel pad. A tree may keep you from putting out your awning, if you adjust so you can avoid the tree your connections may not be long enough. They have added more little shelters but the playground hasn't changed since I first brought my kids there. I have always enjoyed watching the deer here but kids need to be able play and burn off energy As of 9/28/23 The improvement to Wind Point is very noticeable. More over night full hookup for campers have been added. There is still an area for primitive camping. There is tent camping with electric and water. A level area to place a tent. The shelters have been enclosed with an air conditioning. Some new clean showers. There is a vast...

Nara in America: Autumn Foliage and Deer Feeding 🦌 at a Cozy Heated Campsite

Beautiful, just don’t expect to sleep if you have rude campers nearby. My youngest children had never been camping before, so we chose this place in the hopes it would give them a good experience. The deer and the natural beauty are as wonderful as advertised. But the organization of the tent camping area is not great; tent sites are not marked, and there is no clear limit on tent capacity. A large group set up right next to us and deployed 7 tents in a relatively small area. The main reason we chose this campground (quiet time starting at 10 p.m.) was also woefully disappointing. There were two large groups, one of which was the one right next to us, who were extremely loud until well after 1 a.m. The other group even had a microphone and speaker system. Park staff were nowhere to be found. The noise started up again around 7 a.m. and so annoyed nearby campers that one elderly gentlemen emerged to make a loud “SHHHHH!” in their general direction. A somewhat sleepless night marred what might have been a lovely experience, so I doubt we’ll be back. There’s a lot of promise to be realized here if staff were more dedicated to ensuring an enjoyable experience for ALL campers.

Beautiful park, great fishing, and friendly staff. This is my 3rd time taking my dog to this place and he was ecstatic to be here. He could hardly contain his excitement when he realized where I was driving to, this is a utopia for him. It’s a great place to walk your dog and take them swimming if that’s their thing. Me and him go swimming in the reservoir almost every day when we visit. I wish I knew the staff member’s name, but thank you so much to the office lady who gave my dog a free treat, and thank you so much to the other office lady who gave me and him a golf cart ride back to the RV so we didn’t have to walk back in the heat. Thank you both for showing hospitality and showing my dog love, besides peanut butter and bacon, there’s nothing he loves more than his fellow humans and strangers giving him pets, cuddles, and hugs. The staff here are always happy to see my dog, my dog is always happy to see them, and I’m happy because everyone’s happy, and also because I’m at this massive beautiful campground with my massive beautiful baby.
