This year our fall fishing trip took us to Glenmore Resort in Tower MN. Located in the NE part of the state about 20 miles S of ELY. ||We stayed in cabin 7 and it was clean, inviting and comfortable. One of our two bedrooms was furnished with a queen bed and the other with twins. Perfect for my wife, myself and our adult son. Beds were great and we all slept well. The kitchen was nicely equipped with even a dishwasher. All appliances and furnishings were in good shape and functioned well. A comfy sofa sleeper, rocking chair, and a soft recliner that I laid claim to made us feel at home.||In addition to central heat a wood stove provided warmth for the cozy evenings we sought. A flat screen TV with cable and Wi-Fi were also furnished. A very large deck overlooking the lake allowed us to dine and sit outdoors to enjoy the warmer evenings.||Plenty of dockage right in front of your cabin for your boats and other watercraft.||||The large 40000 Acre lake with over 300 island is well marked and provided us with ample fishing opportunities. We caught walleye every day and enjoyed an awesome fish fry.||Grounds were very well kept with ample trailer parking. A large sandy swimming beach and a nice playground for children make Glenmore Resort an excellent choice for a summer family vacation.||Thank you to our hosts Mickey and Paul who were welcoming and answered all out questions. They were quick to respond to our all our requests including bringing more wood up to our cabin. These are new owners and you can tell they are doing everything to make this a first class resort and provide a fun worry free vacation for all their guests.||The resort offers premium fuel, ice, snacks, bait, maps and just about everything you need to make your vacation fun. Rental boats and a convenient boat ramp make it easy to get on the water.||||Plenty of restaurants nearby and for a little more action Fortune Bay Casino is only a ten minute ride or get there by boat.||We plan on returning next fall or maybe even sooner for some...

Pros: Clean and comfortable cabins, beautiful location on the lake. Quiet spot with other amenities, including a small beach, boathouse, fish cleaning station, fire pit, and playground. Friendly and helpful staff. Family-friendly atmosphere.
Cons: Cabins can be a bit small for larger groups. Some things are a bit dated, AC in only one cabin.
Overall: I was really impressed with Glenmore Resort after our recent stay. We had stayed there a few years ago and it was not a great experience. Old ownership was terrible and rude. However, the new ownership has really turned things around and the resort is now a great place to stay.
The cabins are clean and comfortable, and the location on the lake is awesome. We loved being able to go fishing, swimming, and boating right from our doorstep. And it's so peaceful!!!!
Again I have to mention the staff at Glenmore Resort were also very friendly and helpful. They were always willing to go the extra mile to make sure we had a nice time.
Our specifics: 4 adults, 2 kids in cabin.
We stayed in Cabin 8, which was a 3-bedroom cabin. The cabin was clean and well-maintained, and it had everything we needed for our stay. This one has AC so it was helpful for my son's asthma.
The location of the resort is perfect for those who love the outdoors. Lake Vermillion is a great place to fish, swim, and boat. There are also plenty of trails in the area.
The amenities at the resort are good. They have a guide service and boats for rent. The fish cleaning station is very convenient. The playground is a great place for kids to play, and there is also a fire pit for roasting marshmallows.
Overall, we had a wonderful time at Glenmore Resort and would definitely recommend...
Read moreWe stayed for a week of some of the worst weather we'd ever seen during our fall visits to Minnesota. The woods were flooded which made for cold unpleasant grouse hunting for my husband. Temperatures were 20-30 degrees below normal and snow appeared. The owners clearly can't control the weather, but it did impact our week there. ||||Due to food allergies, we came with enough food for our week. Sadly the refrigerator froze some of our greens. That was a bad start. ||||The light bulb over the sink wasn't working so Mickey brought another which did work, but unfortunately it was half the wattage. Washing dishing was a challenge. In addition the dishwasher was built in BELOW the sink which is highly unusual. As a result, there was minimal space in the dishwasher; so we washed too many dishes by hand. Food preparation overall was challenging due to minimal counter space and poor lighting. ||||The cabinet for the dish rack was so narrow that it was nearly impossible to use. In addition, that cabinet was lacking its floor. It went down into a hole. Really weird!||||The bathroom sink was missing a stopper. After going to town, Mickey provided a stopper. The vanity had minimal counter space making it difficult. ||||Overall the place is in need of updating. The cabin was worn out. It needs a critical review of everything in it. It isn't our job to alert them to all the deficits. The new owners should be policing their cabins to assure lights work etc. ||||Compared to other places we've rented, Glenmore is very expensive. The $300 deposit is also unusual, but we complied. On the whole, it was a very expensive inconvenient resort.||||We will not return to...
