Right in the heart of pheasant hunting country(some will dispute that, I'm sure). Whlle the accomodations are not the high-ceiling, log cabin hunting lodge overlooking the vast hunting fields, with a massive oak-topped bar and a walk-in gun room with all manner of high-end shotguns and rifles ready for your use, and a limo-bus to pick you up from the airport, that's not why we go. My group started with Ed's mom Vicki back in the 90's when she ran her operation out of a converted hardware store in Colome. My first experience with her was in 2003. After Vicki's passing, we were lucky to be adopted by Ed and Leanne at their Gregory operation in 2008 and haven't looked back. It's the only hunting I do. I've been lucky and haven't missed a season since '03 except for 2023 after getting Covid three days before the hunt. A very well-run operation by folks who really know what they're doing. Always a great hunt regardless of whether we're out until sunset looking for that "last bird' or limiting out within a couple of hours. The Sinclairs are as accomodating as anyone can be and after all these years we think of them as well as their seasonal staff as extended family on the other side of the country. And, as with the operation trickling down from mom to son and daughter-in-law, now the grandsons have started to take the reins. Brock and Blair are the newest faces of Rocky Ridge and as well they should be. From our perspective, a seamless transition (with mom looking over their shoulders once in a while). We'll keep coming back as long as they'll put up with us and as long as we can stay upright with having to resort to a walker. Already looking forward to...

Went Prairie Dog hunting with Brock and Rocky Ridge Retreat for 3 days. Truly a first class operation. Great communication leading up to the trip, lodging and food were fantastic, and the hunting was great. Brock provided everything we needed to have an enjoyable hunting experience and made sure we were getting consistent shot opportunities. Would highly recommend...

This is the best hunting lodge experience I've ever had. Beats Orvis hands down! Been there about 5 times on work related trips. Clean, friendly, and professional! The food should be on TV. It's indescribably wonderful! Ed, LeeAnn & family are a treasure! I'd love to keep it a secret but I just can't do it. If I ever do a hunt in South Dakota on my dime, this...
