Driving through Nebraska doesn’t have to be painful—we found the perfect KOA just off I-80 that gave us the reset we desperately needed. From adorable cabins and good amenities to fenced-in sites big enough for our Akita Yori to sprint full speed—this campground nailed it. Easy fuel stop at the Flying J next door? Check. Big rig friendly? Yep. Save this spot for your next trip across the Midwest—you’ll thank us later. 📍 West Omaha / NE Lincoln KOA Holiday 🛠️ In collaboration with @Nomadic Influence @Open Road Resorts @AllStays 🐾 Yori approved. ✅ #KOAHoliday #RVCampground #RVTips #RVLife #FullTimeRV #BigRigFriendly #PetFriendlyCamping #DogFriendlyRV #KOAExperience #I80RoadTrip #AllStays #RVTravel #CampgroundReview @Pilot Flying J

We stayed here overnight while traveling west through Nebraska on I-80. The campground is about a quarter-mile north of the interstate. Coming from that direction, it's a left turn into the campground onto the long driveway that leads to the office: pull into one of the two left lanes and park to check-in. The park is currently divided into two sections. The front / north section is where all of the amenities are located and seems to be the home of the short-term spots, while the back section seems to be where most of the long-term residents are located. All of the roads and site pads are gravel and all sites have grass lawns. All of the sites have full-hookups (there is no dump station) and most are 50amp. Some of the sites in the front section have shade trees. Regular sites have picnic tables and fire pits with a grill top; patio sites have either metal chairs or adirondack chairs. The sites are wide enough to allow you to deploy your awning without infringing on your neighbor's space. We were in site 37, just a few sites away from the office. Our site was long enough to fit our 37-foot fifth wheel and 21-foot truck with a few feet to spare, and was level side-to-side but did slope down a bit at the very front where we parked the truck. The map we received at check-in was out-of-date as it showed two enclosed dog parks, but only the dog park at the front of the park, which has an airlock gate but no dedicated lighting, still exists. If the dog park is occupied, you can walk your dog in the grassy spots at the front of the campground, the grass area where the second dog park used to be, or the area at the very back of the campground. The office building contains the usual convenience store, a laundry room, and bathrooms with showers. Most of the outdoor recreation options - the pool, playground, jumping pad, and mini golf-course - are located between the office and the dog park, while the horseshoe pit and volleyball court are located in the middle of the cabin sites. Across the street from the office is a small outdoor amphitheatre area with a dozen or so adirondack chairs. In terms of cell service, the best speed I saw on my Verizon Jetpack with MIMO antenna was 67 Mbps down and 31 up, and we had no trouble streaming video. The best speed I saw on my AT&T smartphone with 5G was 6 Mbps down and 7 up. I did a single speed test of the WiFi and saw 59 Mbps down but just 2 up. At the time of this review, they were in the process of building two new sections of RV sites on the west side of the entrance. According to the staff member I talked to, those sites would be completed before the end of 2024, at which point they would shift the long-term residents over there and then perform some updates to the current campground.

We have stayed at many KOAs in our travels, this was the first one that surprised us in a bad way! From the permanent residents to the unlevel and tight spaces we were shaking our heads how this is a branded KOA. Maybe we've been lucky and stayed at top notch locations. This one isn't it, maybe you'll fare better up the hill in the large 50amp spots where you pay extra. We paid more than what the spot was worth. 30amp fhu pull thru. First you'll avoid the reflector sticks that are marking the shared water spicket. Not sure how well those worked since the entire hose bib assembly is parallel to the ground. Bent sideways. Was extremely difficult to hookup water as a mobility challenged individual. (See pic) The gravel sites are an afterthought, seems most of the gravel is already sunken into the dirt and mud which we got to walk thru unhooking our trailer. The reminders and warnings about staying off the grass was comical after we saw those grass swaths. There is no privacy if you wanted to sit outside you have the neighbors hooks ups to sit next to, and a picnic table sure to give a splinter or two...our neighbor had a tall seasonal propane tank set up which made it obvious these are permanent sites. They save a couple of sites on the end of a lane for the travelers. Live and learn. Never trusting the KOA app ratings and I'll be sure to read many more google ratings to get a good idea of what to expect. Dead branch to avoid on the pull out was again so telling on how this KOA is maintained. We've been to amazing KOAs this one falls so far below in our experience! Staff were friendly and kind that's our positive.

Pros: |friendly staff (with one over zealous worker interrogating me for parking tag. I had removed the tag because I was getting ready to drive).|Some reviews mentioned traffic noise, we did not experience this during our stay but we were in a cabin. |Kids loved jumping pad as well as a golf cart “train” (plastic barrels for kids to sit in and get a ride around the campground, only offered twice in evening). |Queen bed in cabin was comfortable. (Twin beds not so much)|Small toiletries included in cabin|Community Showers seemed decent |Located near flying j, McDonald’s, dennys, an outlet mall and a couple miles away is more shopping and food (fareway, Casey’s, Mexican restaurants, sonic, donut/ice cream shop, etc). Was only about 20 minutes or so to Omaha. |Also saw a volleyball court and Gaga ball area|We reported 1 issue with cabin and it was fixed immediately |Coffee maker included (normal one, not k cups)||Cons: |Definitely the entrance. 1.) it is a very sharp turn if coming from the north. 2.) entrance sits right over a hill so you can not see oncoming traffic when turning, and they can not see you. |Open hours were not honored. The hut to get snow cones closed 1/2 hour before supposed to atleast 2 nights we were there. And the pool was advertised open until dusk but worker kicked swimmers out by 8 and locked the gate. |Grill did not work at cabin|The bunk beds are tucked into a “room” that is basically a closet. |Stairs to loft are steep |Ants throughout the inside of the cabin|Stained mattress|The mini golf is in definite need of updating- the “greens” are mildewy and around the edges needs weeding|Zip line is advertised but we never saw one, and were told by another camper they no longer have it|Kids playground consists of jumping pad (kids loved it), a teeter totter, 1 tire swing, 1 “regular” swing, a very old metal slide (think the 80s and 90s school yard one), and 1 metal climbing sphere (rusted at bottom and too tall for younger kids to use.)|Cabin space is inconvenient (there is 1 table inside with 3 chairs, but anyone sitting in the 2 chairs on the sides either block the bunk beds or the refrigerator and bathroom). So basically the 2 chairs are pointless and it’s a table with 1 chair then can be used comfortably without people having to move around each other. |Also, would recommend they get a refrigerator with door that opens right to left. That way you could get into the fridge without making people move from the table. |Would recommend they label the wall control for heat as control sits next to the air conditioner, so when you think you’re adjusting the air, you’re actually turning on the heat. |Could also be helpful to label light/fan switches ||Would not plan to stay here again, but in a pinch it...

NEVER EVER in my life will I stay here again. Worst customer service and experience I have ever had.

To start off with, I rented a cabin that clearly stated online that it had 2 sets of bunk beds and a queen bed. It also stated that dogs were welcome, but said nothing about an additional fee for dogs. I figured since it was a campground, that was just another amenity. So for ONE night I paid $240 for the cabin for 2 adults and 3 kids. A pretty penny, but I wanted a nice father's day weekend. When I get there, I am told that for my 2 SERVICE dogs (that weight less than 10 lbs BTW) that I have to pay an ADDITIONAL $40. WOW! After showing my complete frustration, I don't even get an apology b/c it's listed "somewhere on the website".

After getting into the room, we discover the a/c wasn't even turned on for us. It took almost 5 hours to get the cabin under 75 degrees. Also I noticed there were NOT 2 sets of bunk beds but instead a pull out couch. I have 3 girls, try to tell them that one of them doesn't get a bunk bed. This became an all fight/cry fest.

So I go back to the office and the response I get was "I can give you a full refund and you can leave". Are you kidding me? I'm the customer and I paid $300 for this cabin for ONE night and I, again, don't even get an apology.

I also then quickly realized all the "amenities" were extra fees. Also, I couldn't find this "dog park" anywhere.

To top it off, I had my cousin who lives a few miles away, come drop off some groceries for us for grilling out later that night (this cabin was a surprise for my fiance so packing up groceries would have been obvious). I forgot to leave the key so I asked the front office if they could let her in and she was coming to meet us at the Mahoney water park right after. They charged her, her husband, and her kid another $18 just to get into the park and drop the groceries off for 20 min.

Fast forward to later that night around the bonfire. It felt like we were being stalked by the employees. They drove around in their go carts and would stop and just watch you. At one point in time, there was a guy just standing behind my fiance's truck. I tapped him and was like "uh, babe, there is a guy watching us". He got up just to realize it was another employee. Weirdest thing ever!!

This is the most outrageous, expensive mistake I've ever made. I will NEVER go to...
