We’ve been going here for years and this weekend was the first time I have been disappointed. It appears as though the glory days are over. Which is unfortunate because it was a top-notch place.
They still have clean bathrooms/shower houses and a pool if you care about that. Typically, our group’s people that didn’t care for trail riding would hang out at the pool- so it is a good compromise. It was also cool to see the food trucks and restaurant open there as well. The drag strip being open is also a fun time.
We were here a month ago and heard lots of big talks and promises that unfortunately did not get fulfilled by Memorial Day weekend as we were told. The bar and store are no longer open, so you’re driving to town for anything you need at all. Now you’ve better plan for a daily ice trip at minimum.
Far and wide- the biggest disappointment is all the trail riding land they’ve lost. We had no idea as there was no PSA published by the new ownership to let anyone know. Just showed up Thursday to a bunch of new barbed wire fence (some of it even cutting out portions of their race track) with No Trespassing signs that has to have eliminated over 80% of the trails that once were. The whole reason that myself and my group go is to primarily ride these trails that are gone. The large plot of land across the street is now gated up- which used to be fun. There’s only 80 acres across the street and very minimal trails anywhere else on the property now. Does not take long to get bored riding what they’ve got open now.
We were disappointed- as was everyone else who we ran into to this weekend who had been there before (a lot of people planned to stay the weekend and left after a day), but myself and my group made the most of it. I hate to say it, but I don’t see a reason to go back unless they can get some more land bought and developed to make it closer to being back to the park we loved. In talking to the strangers, it’s my opinion that the bulk of the customer demographic feels the same way. Would have loved to have posted this on your Facebook page as well, but it will just get deleted as I’ve watched the new ownership do to other fellow riders when they say something negative. Almost like they don’t want the word getting out as to how the “new” park is set up.
It was fun while it lasted. Until something changes- Look out, Fiddler’s Bend! You’ve got a new group of...
Read moreI wish I could give six stars. This past week at Visions 2022, was my first experience in flying FPV in motorsports, and to say I had a wonderful experience is saying it too lightly.
First, I would like to recognize the amazing vibe in the air. The staff blew me away with their consistently pleasant, upbeat, and positive attitude. Chick-fil-a could take lessons. It was a busy and exhausting week for them and there was not a single interaction where any of the staff showed signs of being tired, frustrated, or simply just over it. Every day the staff was so very kind and patient with the customers and the production crews. I honestly believe I had just as much fun interacting with the amazing staff as I had living out my bucket list.
The food was so much more than I expected. Delicious and properly prepared each time, even while being slammed and in the weeds. You have to try the mahi mahi tuna!
The family-friendly environment is a perfect and safe place to bring your children, that will surely make memories that they will never forget. The vibe is just amazing! Safe! And it's rare to find an event where so many people gather together and actually respect each other and their property. I've never been in a more trusting environment.
The race productions were well executed, the music was great and the Saturday night event was over the top
Oh! And the best and most important aspect I wanted to commend MAO on, is the love and unashamed support of this Nation's Patriotism and Christian Faith. It has been so long since I have been in an environment that reminded me of the America that I grew up in. The America that respected our history, the sacrifices of our troops and their families, and proudly stated that we love and respect our...
Read moreLet me start by saying we experienced the park when it was Mid America, so this weekend at the "new" park was quite the experience.
First, the pros: Our duplex cabin was very nice and clean, easy to book, no complaints there. We had an issue with our lock and an on site staff member was there in minutes to help us so that was great. The restaurant staff and pool staff were very nice and accommodating. Pool was clean and well kept. The staff we did encounter were all very nice and helpful.
The cons: There is NOT 600 acres of trails anymore. I'd say there's less than 100 now. The areas behind the tracks are barbed wired off, literally cutting the Barbie keep downhill in half now. So much of the trails are gone now due to lease issues apparently. Also, no bars or patio areas are open - also due to license issues I guess! The shop is closed. Much of what made this park a fun place just wasn't open. It felt like an abandoned park compared to the MOA days. There was zero security. A guy did donuts right on the patio next to the pool and no one was there to say a thing. People were hauling a$$ thru the park going well over 20 which is a huge concern for those of us with kids. Also, $30 for a Buffett for mediocre food was pretty bad. Super nice staff and folks running it, but when that was the only food option besides one food truck, that was rough. Hopefully they can get some big events books and get things turned around or I don't see this place lasting long. You can't charge a premium resort price when half the "amenities" weren't open or don't...
