This was Facebook post: Well friends and family for those who go camping in your Rv or rent the cabins or use any of these facilities Grand Lake of the Cherokee RV Resort here is how they treat their guest and what they have done to us. We had a birthday party and had booked the building and cabin to have an inside place. We had two birthday parties one for 60 year old one for a 94-year-old. We booked this place way far in advance. The manager called me in the middle of May to tell us that we can’t use the building due to mold. They did return my refund on the building. And they said we could have it at the pavilion. So,we decide to stay since we already had relatives staying there for the party anyway. The cabin was cute and cozy, but not enough room for 3 people to sleep!!!The fold out futon didn’t sleep 2 people as told! Both my husband and I slept on a twin futon! Very uncomfortable! Toilet was stopping up every time you use it!!! We went to tell them at the office,an employee said plunger was in bathroom cabinet! After it over flooded 2x. We were sick of this crozy cabin! It had spiderwebs all on porch. We had a golf cart rented and 2 cars parked in drive way. We parked our rented golf cart off the gravel and on the grass!!! I told manager about it,when we checked out,she said that was fine!!! One of the employee’s I spoke with about the deposit,on the phone she stated we wasn’t gettn our deposit back due motorcycles parked on the grass… Absoultly not!!! If she owned a motor cycle she would know they don’t park in the muddy grass!!!!! The pavilion, where we had to have it with no choice, for the party cause, we wasn’t given enough time find another place!!!!The pavilion was dirty. Nasty had cobwebs all over it, my granddaughter had to sweep and sweep off cobwebs. We was told that there would be gas hook up down there and she would bring a propane tank down there. She never brought a propane tank down as promised by manager!! Somebody had to go tell her to bring one down then she brought the wrong one down and had to go get you another one. Our party was extremely late. Guest were waiting on food. Some guest left because of the situation Not mention several of the guest complained about being told by a rude employee that they had to move their vehicle because they were parked on the grass, but there were no signs posted Do Not park on grass and no place to park!We also rented a cabin and a golf cart which we paid 745.00 for everything including boat slip ,never received our $200 deposit back !!! This is no way of doing business or treat your customers!!!!!We were so disappointed in this RV Resort. And will NOT recommend this place or stay here again!!!Thanks alot to the owners of this place for a horrible birthday on...
Read moreWell unfortunately all good things have to come to an end, for years my family and I have made our way to Grove to stay at Cedar Oaks RV park, it was wonderful, great fishing, great staff, always packed with other campers to share stories and previous adventures with. Cedar Oaks use to care about their guests, they didn’t have really any extra amenities so the price was set accordingly. They use to also give discounts for different memberships and organizations but that is gone as well. I could plan on a weekend visit and spend 35.00 a night which for what they offer is excellent. ||This great little family RV place has fallen victim to what so many other places do, they sold and became corporate. First thing they do of course is raise the rates to 50.00 a night or more. As I was trying to wrap my head around why I would stay there for that cost and not half a mile down the road at Eagles Landing who has a swimming pool, restaurant, stuff for the kids to do and Wi-Fi for 5 dollars less a night. But I decided I’d go back to the place I was familiar with, and to my surprise the place is empty, last year at this time it was packed, not so much anymore. ||Grove is not a US wide tourist attraction it is a place for area people who might not make a lot of money can go camping and get away from it all. The manager of this once spectacular place has obviously destroyed it and apparently the owners of RVjourney don’t really care. There is zero customer service here the only ones that seem to care are the guys who park you and pick up the place, they Are the only thing that makes this place bearable now. ||You can stay in Branson Missouri for 50 a night at Ciachman, Eagle Landing here in Grove for 45.00 a night. As for amenities here, The Wi-Fi is non existent they give you a code and you can’t connect, The nature trails they talk about here is an open field, DO NOT believe what is now on their website about what they offer. The only plus about this place now is your near the lake. What ever you do don’t approach the manager with your concern because you’ll get the “well there are other campgrounds around”. The previous reviews on here are from when this was owned by private individuals and not a Washington based corporation. Maybe, just maybe they can make a management change and bring this place back from the road to ruin its on now. Starting soon my wife and I are starting an RV Park review blog to post about our experiences in the many different RV parks we...
Read moreThis was just over the pone about a reservation. |I had an extremely disappointing experience with this company and would strongly advise others to stay away. I booked a boat slip at their Oklahoma location and was clearly told over the phone that I would receive a 100% refund if I canceled within 14 days. Based on that promise, I proceeded with the booking as a backup plan.|However, when I did cancel well within the 14-day window, I was told that there was a non-refundable booking fee—something that was never mentioned during any of my calls. I emphasized multiple times that I was only booking under the condition of a full refund, and I was assured of that. Yet, they used a technicality to withhold part of my payment, claiming that while the slip rental is refundable, the so-called "booking fee" is not.|To make matters worse, the company records all calls without notifying customers. I called more than once and never heard a disclaimer. When I disputed the charge, they reviewed the recordings (which they never disclosed they were making) and still refused to issue a full refund—even though it was clear I was misled.|Their practices are misleading at best and intentionally deceptive at worst. They hide behind vague fine print and manipulate refund terms to keep part of your money, even when their own representatives make verbal guarantees.|Do not trust this company. Their business practices are unethical and dishonest. Spend your...
