We had a unique, unforgettable experience that should justify a 10/5 stars with respect to service. Our friend's car had gone down the wrong road and got stuck in the mud at the bottom of an 100ft muddy hill. We had no service and were scrambling to find a tow truck service that could come out to this off-road location while it was pouring rain. While trying to sort it out at the resort, a man in a cowboy hat, leather boots, and large pickup truck with a winch came to our cabin, went out to the stuck car, and spent the next 2-3 hours in the mud and rain pulling our friend's car up this hill. We then realized he was the owner of the resort and had heard we needed help. He even let us wash down our shoes and dry our clothes; it was the most amazing gesture of hospitality I have ever seen.
This doesn't speak on the beautiful and unique resort, the wonderful hospitality of the front desk woman, Christina (who also played a part in getting his car out), and the extremely comfortable, spacious, and feature-rich cabins. If you're anywhere in the Brattleboro area or northern Mass, you would be remissed to not stay here. It's a true family run place with an awesome, unique vibe and the nicest people you'll ever meet. We hope to be back next time we're up in the area, and we thank them from the bottom...

My Son and I just recently visited the Viking Village. We were on our way to Cooperstown for a Baseball Camp/Tournament and kept a day for nothing. Coming from Boston we researched what was available and found the Viking Village and we were in. It was a great drive to get there (very mellow) and right when you enter the Wooden Viking Entry wall, it is everything you want it to be. Clean and Quite. They even recommended when checking in a waterfall close that you could swim in...and we did. It was a great Son/Dad bonding adventure. You need to use their Wifi because service isn't the greatest (Wifi is great), but I liked that because it made me lock in with my Son. We loved it and would return if we are in the Vermont area. Yes, I bought a Viking Cup from the Reception Desk and drank my morning coffee in it.
All in all a very wonderful, kid friendly, very mellow, off the beaten path, clean and...
Read moreOur visit to this wonderful and exceptional resort was memorable. The beautifully appointed natural wooded surroundings are only surpassed by the iconic Vikings Villages cabins and main house/event hall. Our host, Christina, was so welcoming and gave us a tour of the property along with insights into the construction of this fine property. One can easily acknowledge the great care and craftsmanship that went into the building of Vikings Villages. Our main cabin was appointed with first-class furnishings and high-quality linens/accessories and well-appointed kitchen/bedrooms and furniture. The entire Village resort is truly a masterpiece to behold, you are literally transported back in time to a literal Viking village - it truly is a sight to be seen. Please visit and stay at this amazing property - just minutes from historical Guilford /...
